I have a Nokia 6030b with T-Mobile. I always unlock my nokia phones when I get them using codes from nokiafree.org.
Well when I got my Nokia 6030b I accidentally put in the wrong codes 5 times and now it won't unlock. This is the first time in history where I have goofed like this. (I usually always get the codes right) I read on their site that I need a cable to unlock my phone.

When will you update the Cingular information?

Now I know that AT&T hasn't released details on Cingular rebranding, but I was wondering if the Cingular information under "Carriers" should be updated to state that "In 2006 Cingular's parent companies, AT&T and BellSouth merged, and in early 2007 Cingular will be rebranded under the AT&T name. Details about the rebranding have not yet been released."
This is just my humble opinion, but I think it would be a nice idea to update the Cingular ...

The Merger with AT&T Inc and BellSouth has not yet been cleared. It is tied up right now but it should be done by March/April if everything goes smoothly, then the rebranding will start: first with BellSouth, and then Cingular. So I would look for Cingular going away as early as Q2 2007 or as late as Q1 2008.
One thing for sure: The Cingular brand is in its last days.

The wrinkle effect you talked about is true with most phones now. I dislike it myself that is why I went back to suing the Nokia 6200 from 2004 because that phone does not do that. I had Cingular Prepaid and it was ok. It is very expensive though so I switched to T-Mobile prepaid and my minutes go further. I am in Chicago so T-Mobile has this city covered completely and I never travel so it works for me.

Honey, If you want a basic high review phone go with the Nokia 6030. It is one of their highest rated phones on the market right now. It even scored better than my 6200, which I do highly reccomend. I got mine off of Ebay for 30 dollars after shipping costs and it works great for me.

I have noticed. The UI is ugly, I wish Verizon would get over themselves and stop over branding thier phones. They are nothing special, they just happen to be a decent wireless company and that's it.

If Verizon does pass Cingular it won't be for awhile. Maybe in 2008 but it all depends. Cingular is doing good number wise so they are securing their place as number one.

as I mentionend, personally I think it is the antenna of the phones. Some nokia antennas are stronger than others. I can't explain why, but this has always been my experience. If your Nokia 6610 ever gives out, the Nokia 6200 is also another solid model. (Plus Cingular and AT&T Wireless replaced the 6100 with the 6200 phone)

It depends on the phone's technology. I really can't explain it, but I have a Nokia 6200IM phone unlocked on T-Mobile To-Go and my lovely momma uses the Nokia 3120 on Cingular and I have better signal on the 6200. (I did put my SIM card in the 3120 and I still get more bars with the 6200.)
By the way, I hear that the 6610 is an awesome phone. Nokia doesn't make them like they used ...

That's why agents should do what wirefly.com does: charge you a seperate ETF if you change or cancel your service. That would prevent this from happening.

I've been unlocking my own phones for a few years now. But this is good in that it makes GSM look even more desirable. CDMA customers will have a lot of problems with trying to bring thier phone to a different carrier.
Everytime I unlock a phone to use with my carrier I go to www.nokiusa.com to order the settings for the phone. (I only use and unlock Nokia phones)
