8O Seems that somebody is getting a little press stating the obvious that some of us have known for some time. Take a look. http://eetimes.com/news/latest/showArticl e.jhtml;jsessionid=ADNJKVEUXHDZYQSNDLSCKHA?ar ticleID=197006889 Sure would like that Nokia E90 Communicator. I just wish it had Tri-band 3G freqs, on it. Maybe I'll go with the i-Mate Ultimate....

 Answer to my own question, if anybody is curious: (excerpt from Cingular Tech Support) "Unfortunately, we do not have a release date for the Windows Mobile 6.0 software. If it becomes available as a download for the Cingular 3125, the information will be found at www.htcamerica.net ." So, I'm now waiting on a response from HTC (America). More later.....

8O WANT IT NOW!!!! DON'T WANT TO WAIT A YEAR!!! Lets move people, get your asses in gear with these ROM updates!!!! I'm very surprised nobody has addressed this yet. Seriously, anybody out there have a roadmap when (IF?!?!) Cingular/ATT will roll out the WM6 updates? I hate the fact that T-Mobile got the coverage for their Dash. Anyone, anyone? Bueller?? /;|

Cingular 3125 (AKA: Star Trek)

 Got this one, second day it was out. Did a review and had to do a little "comment" on Cingular. Short version: like this one. Even got the Star Trek Communicator sound to chime when I get a text message. Drives my co-workers nuts!!! https://www.phonescoop.com/phones/user_re views.php?phone=899&s=d&p=1

Now, that is pretty cool. You think that would include the 3125, down the road?

And it may bomb. I don't remember where I saw it, but someone did a video review on the "fast-tap" and found that it's actually slower to use it than regular T9 texting. I don't like it either. With the negative reaction I've been reading elsewhere, I don't think it will be around too long.

:( I actually had to research what the heck a SIMON was. Once I did, I'm afraid the answer would be a "no". The specs I looked at does not indicate what the cellular frequencies are, but being it's "circa 1994", I'm betting it was the old AMPS spectrum. CDMA ( as we currently know it) was a bit in it's infancy back then also. I could not even speculate as to why the documentation you have states that ...

:) Anyone know anything about this handset? It seems to be the 3G version of the i320, and by now we all know it was "leaked" over the weekend. I was just wondering if anybody has been able to test drive this unit. Interesting that a commitment is made to this product before the Palm is released.

:( Which is depressing, because this was the item I've been waiting on. So, I either: A) buy it for "limited use" in this country, B) hope it comes in the "850" flavor. or C) move on to something else or wait even more to see who gets the 2100 MHz frequency in the auctions.

:? Don't know but you might find your answer on the two links below. That is if you hadn't already read them already. Of course that does not mean if Cingular will pick them up or not in the next quarter or so. The E70 might be the better bet. I'm a little depressed about the N93. Oh yeah, you gotta head to the Nokia store to get 'em. THAT'S a serious bummer. :x http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2006/09/09/ nokia-e70-n93-semi-officially-available-in-us / http://gearlog.com/blogs/gearlog/archive /2006/09/09/20773.aspx

/;| DVD's? Really? Hmmmm...Never thought about that. Does it look "sharp"? Be a bit of a drain on the battery, I suppose. Does it have Bluetooth stereo capability? OH!!! And the picture/video stuff: Good? Bad? Sorry... I read reviews, but I always have to ask John/Jane Q. Consumer on their opinion of a product.

:P Like I said in another posting, not into the music phones. Either the SE K790, the Palm GSM 700 series or Nokia's N93 would be my weapon of choice. Although, the W810 is kinda neat.

8) Yeah..I've been looking. I just want to know why there are SOOOO many Samsungs. And the ONE Samsung that is even WORTHY of my attention seems to lack memory expansion capability (i607). Also it lists the Pearl, BUT it seems to lack a camera. Ummm.. I'm not a big RIM fan, but wasn't that one of the points of the Pearl? A camera??? Hello?!?!? And the 8525 seems to lists it's video recorder at 6 FPS?!?!? OH COME ...

:) Believe me, I certainly understand the product testing process. It can be frustrating at times. I am surprised about the W810 not doing that well, but I am more interested in the new camera/PDA types then the music/iPod-ish ones. In the end it's like shopping for a car. You have an econo-box (like a C2000), you see your choices into a mid-range model (like a RAZR or ZX20), but you REALLY want the top of the line (like ...

:-)... Ok. Excellent! I know what the Pearl has. But I do not know the "full" specs on the 700 GSM series. Always liked the Palm ever since the 600 series was dropped when I was with VZW. Pearl is ok, but I was never crazy about RIM's products. Thank you! So...when will they "drop"? Give or take?

:x Well, once again, Cingular gives the Americans (with TWO exceptions...maybe), another batch of crap-tastic phones. Where the hell are the Palm's!?!?!? Where the hell is the N80?!?!? WHERE THE HELL IS THE W810i?!?!?!? C'mon people!!! It puts the lotion in the basket!!! AAARRGGGHHH!!!! There, I feel better now....sorry.

 Bummer. There are a lot of fantastic handsets out there, if only they would adhere to 850/1900 bands. It's pointless to buy an "unlocked" unit if you can't use it's full capability.

:? Anybody know whether the "painstakingly slow" auctions produced a winner yet on this frequency? Or if it is even on the auction block? Would like to get a new handset, but from what I've been reading, all the items I'm currently interested in only come in the 2100 flavor. Thanks.
