This is weird... when we had the D807, no one bought it. But the last two weeks I've had twenty phone calls for this phone.

... that Motorola phones are always $50-100 more than a similarly equipped phone from the other manufacturers? Right now the original V3 RAZR is actually $10 more than the SYNC... and the SYNC is better in terms of reception, camera, internet speed, and music player. The V3x is similar in features to the SYNC... but it's $30-50 dollars more. The Moto Q that AT&T is picking up may be a sweet phone, but if it's twice as pricey ...

Laptop Cards

I'm looking for a comparison on Laptop Cards from all the servie providers. I know everything about Cingular's cards 'cause I work there. So I need info about T-Mobile, Verizon, Sprint, and others. I'd prefer the info like this: CINGULAR WIRELESS Technology: HSDPA/UMTS Fallback: EDGE HSPA speed: Up to 3.6 Mb/s EDGE speed: Up to 120kbps 3G Coverage: Most metro cities EDGE Coverage: Virtually everywhere you get voice coverage Future upgradability: Speed should double in the next year to ...

Re: assigning ringtones to callers

in the LG CU500 forum

Did you get your phone from Cingular? The first batch released in Cingular stores had a software issue that didn't allow for ringtones assigned to callers. Try this. Go to Menu->Settings->Handset Information (Menu 9 *). Under Software Version you should see a string of numbers separated by dashes. If the third number is "V10a" (example: CU500-MSM3270100-V10a-Jun-04-2006-CW-US) then you have the old software. If it says something else (I'm not sure what) then you have the new software. If ...

You'd think they'd tell us this stuff, wouldn't you? But until now the distinction between smartphone and PDA is a full QWERTY keyboard, which the Blackjack has. Pretty sweet, if the $19.99 will work.

Hey guys, I'm thinking about getting a Samsung Blackjack with Cingular when it comes out. I notice it's listed as a "smartphone" instead of a PDA. Does that mean it'll use Cingular's $19.99 internet package instead of the $39.99 PDA package?

I can't speak for the date but the price isn't on Cingular's current price sheet. Hopefully we'll hear more this week.

I've seen this described as a "smartphone" instead of a PDA. Does this mean that it will use Cingular's $19.99 MEdia Net package instead of the $39.99 PDA package? If so, I'll buy one the second it's available.

When I worked at Blockbuster, tons of folks would hand me cards for other video stores. Which I can kind of understand. But when I would hand it back and say "I can't take this," they NEVER figured it out until I pointed to my BBV logo on my shirt.

I don't program phones or set up phones, though I'll help you if you bought it from me. I don't loan phones. I don't sell used phones. I don't fix phones. I don't make the phones. I don't work for the company that makes the phones. If your problem is with the phone itself, outside the 30 day return policy, I can't do anything for you at the store level. I worked for Blockbuster when they did their "No More Late Fees" thing. Not only did I have to explain the new policy a hundred times per day in the store; anyone who saw me in uniform and all of my friends wanted me to explain it to them, too. I usually told them that they just beat you with chains if you returned your movies late.

I just had a customer say his kid went over on his text messages. I looked it up and his kid went 4000 over. That was $400 on his bill! I thought he'd kill the kid. But instead he upped the texting plan and bought his kid a new $200 phone. I would've killed him.

It's because we sell an intangible product, I think. You go to Target and buy a vacuum cleaner, and you have a vacuum cleaner. A cell phone company takes money from you each month but you have nothing physical to show for it, so you feel like your $60 bill is pure profit. That's why folks don't understand the subsidised pricing and why their 9.99 line isn't up for an upgrade for the next eighteen months. That's ...

I had one earlier who'd received a replacement phone from the warranty department and wanted me to put it together for her... no problem. Then, before she left, she turned to me and told me that she'd spent twenty minutes on hold with them and then got cut off, and had to call back. I nodded, smiled, and said "Is there anything else we can do for you today?" I'm not going to apologize for the warranty department, or give ...

Yep. I work for a Cingular agent and a lot of folks buy a phone as part of a bundle with Bellsouth, get it mailed to them, and don't understand why I can't do anything with their new phone AND fix problems with their bellsouth DSL, too.

I've seen it before. But you know what? You can get a PDA for like $20, and a prepaid phone for like $30. Or you could buy a Cingular 8125 for $550 retail. Tape the other two together and save yourself $500.
