Yep, it has VoIP. It offers an option to download Gizmo and is also compatible with Truphone, Palringo and Nimbuzz. Fring apparently is kinda buggy at the moment. Hope that helps.

I got mine at NYC Nokia store (E71-2) and have used it in Brooklyn and Miami. No problems whatsoever.

What is it with you people? Read the freaking time stamps and you'll clearly see at the time of my 1st post nobody had yet mentioned Europe. If you're so informed why did ask what your question? Look, could this stupid thread just die. I have no ill will towards any of you (save Dennis, you're a overwrought %$^#head) and I truly hope you find exactly what you are looking for.

Yup, call the NYC store, they'll confirm that Thursday night is the release date.

Yeah, that sounds about right. The NYC store told me more than 450, less than 500. Thursday night for those on the list and Friday or Sat for everyone else.

I wouldn't call you stupid Dennis, but perhaps the time-stamps on posts are evading you? Prior to an author writing a post it's mighty hard to comment on one.

Wow, quite vitriolic. Note that in the sequence of posts no one had mentioned they wanted a phone for Europe and US markets until after my first post. Based on the thread, ("E71-3 has 850/2100 HSDPA. Can I use it on at&t's HSDPA network? I think most of its HSDPA network in 850, but I am not sure. Thanks S3vSt3R ") it seemed ill-advised to recommend a phone for 850/2100 while an 850/1900 exists. Had it been clear what the user wanted ...

Yeah, dates may differ slightly. The phone does feel absolutely fantastic. I also like that Quickoffice is a full edit capable version right out of the box.

Release date

I was just in the Nokia NYC store and told the release date is next Friday. I'm not sure if that applies to web sales as well.

No offense intended. Also I fail to see why someone who lives here (in the USA) would wish to purchase a phone clearly designed for another region. It's almost impossible to get accurate info as to which band (850 vs 1900) is in use in a given area. So as to not thinking about the question, I did, and offered a simple answer. Hey, if you're spending ~$500 for a phone you'd be mad not to do lots of ...

Sheesh, be informed. The Nokia E71-2 is for US (850/1900). The E71-3 will only hit the 850 band here. AT&T uses the 1900 band pretty widely. Long story short, Nokia has finally made multiple versions of a great phone, take advantage of the right model.

You don't have to be in 3G coverage as the MediaFLO service is broadcast over an entirely different spectrum from cellphone bands. However it is a safe bet that if you are out of 3G coverage you wont be likely to get MediaFLO either. Go here http://products.vzw.com/index.aspx?id=mobileT V if you want a map or list of cities. It's Verizon but the coverage will be the same.

you could also try going to tools-->app. manager-->click on options(L softkey) and then settings. Try changing the software installation parameter.

I hear you on that note. Being on the speakerphone and simultaneously looking up stuff on the web was definitely cool. You gain some features, you lose others.

You might try the E65...

Hi. I've been following this forum for months and waiting like everyone else for this phone. After the 'release' last week and subsequent disappearance of the phone I went and bought an E65 instead. Just in case anyone is looking for an alternative to the N75 this could be it. Pros: same S60, more memory, wifi that works very well (and UMTS is only slightly faster than EDGE anyways). No Cingular crap apps either. Fantastic voice quality and reception. ...

N75 delayed till next year.

This wonderful looking phone is apparently being delayed till 2007. I spoke to reps at the NYC Nokia Store and was told it's not showing up any time soon. Bah. Does anyone know anything different (i.e. something more positive about the release date)?
