Thanks, reporting back: Went to the vzw retail store yesterday evening and was not at all impressed with the help or service we got there. First we weren't even greeted for about 20 minutes, then the girl that did end up helping us...well, you could see the chipper friendly smile go away when we told her what was going on and she gave us the "I don't give a hoot because this isn't a new sale" treatment attitude the whole ...

Hey all, I apologize if this subject has already been covered (I'm sure it has), but I haven't been around this forum in quite some time. I am just looking for some opinions or perhaps a personal experience; I know it comes down to my choice and all but I've really reached a point that I want to hear from some "real" people and perhaps some words of guidance. I've always gotten good help in the past from here, ...

OMG! I've NEVER been treated so badly by a cell phone company! I have an elderly friend that is moving back from overseas and I'm taking care of some affairs for him including cell phone service. But he wanted his own service etc...So being that he's on a fixed income and doesn't get around a lot any more I set him up with a prepaid unlimited monthly plan. The phone works fine but trying to set it up? 2 ...

Thanks! Actually, I got it to work but very strangely. Through reading more droid forums, etc...found out it has to be set up in manual mode using imap format and will not work at all, even after setting it up if you're connected to a wireless network. strange  The yahoo mail and yahoo IM widget will work regardless but not the email function/sync. Gmail works fine...no issues with it at all... So far I'm absolutely thrilled with this phone, ...

Ok I finally bit the bullet and made a decision and ended up with the moto droid today!! I LOVE this device! However, as I'm getting used to it I have found my first problem and thus question... To those who have perhaps answered this a thousand times I apologize but maybe once more won't hurt? I downloaded the widget for yahoo/yahoo IM and they both work fine. However, the preinstalled "email" widget theoretically should allow my yahoo e-mail account to be ...

Well, as far as apps go, I'm really not a big gamer at all. I think the last game console I owned was a sega genesis! (Of course my mommy loved me and got me a first generation nintendo, too! I was quite impressed with my brothers atari, too! oh...those were the days lol) Anyway...I'm not a business guru either, so any of the commerce and trade apps would be probably not be on my device. I am however ...

I really like and want the iphone but in my area at&t service is not the greatest and doesn't work at work at all...and I'm quite happy with verizon...how is the andriod market (like apps) compared to the iphone apps?

Thanks guys for all the helpful tips, advise and other options and angles to look at! :) Well, luckily I still have a little time lol...I never thought of skype or a google number. Did I hear somewhere that there's an app that allows iphone to have 2 phone numbers as well? Or is that it?

go look at quirky.com and look for the "beamer". it's not officially on the market yet, it's still having some "bugs worked out" and some finishing touched put on it, but it's supposed to be this uber-slim case for the iphone that has a built in flash. comes in a lot of different colors etc...looks pretty snazzy...I pre ordered one for my friends iphone for his bday...they're $38, I think? plus tax and shipping...just an idea...I have no idea ...

So it's 3am, and I'm at work. Of all the things I have to do, I find myself sitting at the desk in from of the computer pondering and found myself back on this site after quite a while absent; where once upon a time I was very versed and involved. if we were divulging information such as names, cities, numbers etc...that might be a little different when talking about people in terms of confidentiality. Is there really that much harm in a bunch of cell phone guru's who have or have had this business in common to vent, and share funny stories they know the other(s) would appreciate?

One time back in my call center days in a land far far away...well at least on the south side... I got a call from a sweet little old lady who just wanted to ask some questions about her phone and how to do a few things on it... She was just so nice, constantly using terms of endearment, complimenting me on my demeanor and ability to help... Then from out of nowhere she let's out this blood curdling shreek! May I suggest doing this: Sprint, Verizon, ATT, T-Mobile WHATEVER...it all works great. it'll take a little bit of effort on your part but once you're all set up it will be well worth it. go to myxertones.com. sign up for a FREE account. enjoy searching through thousands of ringtones, pictures and games etc... with vzw, you CANNOT send tones, etc...directly to your phone. open a special folder on your computer where you would put all that stuff. the site will ask you to ...

Wow...some very good points brought up on both sides. My brother married into a family from Peru...and I mean straight from there, not just descended. Our families did not mix well for the longest time due to cultural differences. I feel your pain, man. It's a tough decision. I have been a Sprint customer for 5 years and just switched to verizon. As far as service with Sprint, they certainly aren't a "ford"; at least not in my area. The service has been overall very dependable, customer service has improved a lot and they as well have some pro's as well with their con's. True, the "simply unlimited" plan with sprint is $99 per line, which beats the ...

Well for me: customer service has been very good, and I've never had a problem with my bill...at least not yet...I hope I don't lol. Option of nights starting at 6pm helps greatly even though it's $10 extra per month. Now, it's been several months since I've worked there, however I was there when the 2 year contract option started rolling out. At that time at least, it was an option, not a requirement. (For better phone pricing, etc...) Will it still be like that? Both verizon and cingular (not sure about sprint)offer 1 and 2 year contracts, and it is the customers choice.
