Thanks for the info, epik. I assumed the retailers had gotten the phones for less than $599. I mean, as you pointed out, why would they sell them at cost? I can buy an S5 from Verizon for that price any time. I was hoping they had a little wiggle room and would drop the price for Black Friday or Cyber Monday. It would generate store traffic, and probably lead to more sales of their highest profit ...
Why no "Full Retail" deals?
I was hoping to find a Black Friday or Cyber Monday deal on a Samsung Galaxy S5, but the only ones out there are with a new contract. I'm grandfathered in with unlimited data, so I'm not touching my contract or my upgrade. My next phone will be full retail. All S5's that I can find for Verizon are still $599 or higher. Why no holliday discount? :(
Extended warranty vs Insurance
I know there are several Verizon employees on this forum, so I'm hoping one of you can explain something to me. Here's the situation:

Jerky video playback
Looking for some help. When I shoot video in 1080p with my GS3 and then play it back (view it on the phone) it's crystal clear, but plays very jerky. It's very irritating. I have a new SanDisk class 10 high-speed micro SD card so I doubt that's the problem. Any ideas?

The trick is to look ahead as best you can and make a decision based on what you want and how long you're willing to wait. Just keep in mind that as soon as the new HTC is released, there will be rumors of something better ...

Oh I'll know! I like VZW, but there is a limit to how much I'm willing to pay over other carriers.
This is nothing new.
It has been this way for years. VZW always seems to have fewer offerings than other carriers. It can be a bit frustrating at times when you're ready for a new device and none of their choices are what you want. That, combined with cheaper plans from other carriers, is exactly what lured me away from Verizon about 6 years ago. I just recently debated the same thing. I looked at the Razr Maxx and a few others too. The Maxx is a solid contender, bu after reading and watching reviews on the Samsung GS3 I'm sold. Mine has been pre-ordered and I can't wait. Seems like and awesome device.

We will be on vacation in Puerto Rico very soon, and I was curious about VZW service while on the island. I called customer service and they basically said that we can use our phones exactly as if we were home (PR is a U.S. territory). She said there would be no roaming or international charges. Of course all of this depends on if we actually can get a signal.

I stopped by Verizon again today and had someone nice enough to look at my current plan and compare it to what I would pay for 2 smart phones and a regular phone with 6GB on a Data Share Plan. Turns out, it would have cost me $20 a month more. Long-story-short, she found a way to let me renew my Unlimited Data plan AND preorder my Samsung S3!! :D

The Note is more of a hybrid phone/tablet in my opinion. I honestly can't imagine many people attempt to carry one in a pocket. Maybe some do. Doesn't look comfortable to me.

Oh I know about using wi-fi. I make sure my son does all the time while home or away at college (which is why he's at 1.5GB average). The reason my usage is so high is because I don't have wi-fi available at my office and because I stream Pandora in my car all the time.

Loosing my unlimited data by two days
I'm eligible for my upgrade on June 30th and I just found out that any upgrade after June 8th looses unlimited data.
I stopped by my local Verizon store today to see about pre-ordering a Galaxy S3 (which I can't because you can't preorder before your upgrade date, even though the phone wouldn't be here until after my date). :roll:

Thanks. I wasn't thinking that one was any better than the other. I'm just wondering why they would make two different versions. If a quad-core wont work on LTE, then why not make all models (including the Global version) with the same dual-core? Especially if there isn't any real difference in performance.

If I were going to do it now, I like the Rezound. I traded upgrade dates with my son so I could get him the iPhone 4s for Christmas. That pushed me back to June I think :( . The things we do for our kids. Anyhow, I'm sure by then there will be something else even better out.

Ship Dates for iPhone 4s
Hi guys. Haven't been here in a while. Anyhow, I bought my son an iPhone 4s from Verizon right before Christmas and , of course, they were sold out. They placed the order and told me it should ship around Jan 4th. Does anyone on here know if those dates are holding out? Thanks in advance.
