LTE Question
Apr 7, 2011, 9:44 AM
in the Article: Huawei May Build U.S. Cellular's LTE Network forum

I was wondering if anyone is familiar with LTE technology in general. My question is, will LTE work overseas or other countries? I tried looking it up myself, but got mixed answers. Thanks!

You want to hear something funny? The Cingular billboard that I drive past every night after work says: Fewest dropped calls in Boston. The funny part is thats where my phone drops the call as soon as I can see it!

I don't know if it makes a difference or not, but which outlet should I go to? For example, a corporate-owned store, or authorized agent? :D

Question: I was "thinking" about purchasing a Motorola RAZR MAXX through either a couple of websites. Would I still be a "good" customer if I were to bring this phone to your store and sign up as a new Cingular customer with a new number? Many thanks!! :D

This helps! I was just curious if they just give you "a" number and thats it.

Question for the Reps

If I were to walk into the store and sign up, does Cingular allow you to choose what phone number you want (of what they have)? Thought I would find out while I'm here at work. Thanks!

I agree, thats what I'm waiting for. :)

I could believe that. I would imagine that this phone would be released when Cingular becomes at&t....new name, new lineup of new phones. But I would think that this phone would be released after the new year, just as the name change occurs.

I agree. Hopefully they won't egg us on like they did for months with the 6126 (which I was looking forward on getting). I definitely like the N75 a lot more than the 6126 (even though it may be a bit more than what I need).

I saw on the Nokia site that planned availability is November 2006. With the cancellation of the 6126, I hope that the N75 will come out and not end up like the 6126. I would really be disappointed with Cingular if this happened.

Thanks! I just had to ask. I am towards the end of my current contract with Verizon and wanting to switch over to Cingular/at&t. But with their current lineup of phones (with no clear indication that more are coming) I just assume that once they change to "at&t", they will have a all new lineup. Plus when that does happen, I want to have a at&t branded phone, not Cingular. I know that sounds ...

On the website earlier today, the 6061 and 6102 weren't on the lineup. But when I checked again on the website a little while ago, the 6102 seemed to have returned but the 6061 was gone. I don't know if this is a nationwide thing, or a regional one. But I am sure that both phones were not on there before.

Any More Nokias for Cingular?
Aug 23, 2006, 5:11 PM
in the AT&T forum

With the 6126 supposedly being cancelled by Cingular, as well as the discontinuation of a couple of phones from their current lineup (recently), does anyone know if there are any new Nokias coming? I read somewhere on here that there was a rumor about Motorola paying Cingular to offer more of their phones, or at least make them the only manufacturer in their lineup to have quad-band. There was also no word on the 6282 (UMTS). ...

I just saw the post on how a Nokia rep said that it is (supposedly) confirmed to go on sale through Cingular in early September. As far as the sim card goes, I don't have one. My current phone is through Verizon.

Thanks! I have read earlier that this phone was no longer going to be offered by Cingular, but I figured I would buy one from Amazon or other places that sells them unlocked (any suggestions there?). I also saw people who have either the 6126 or 6131 with Cingular, and was curious if there was a difference. One more thing....if I were to buy a 6131, I could get that 64 k 3g sim through Cingular ...

6126 or 6131?

in the Nokia 6126 / 6131 / 6133 forum

Trying to compare the two models, but can't seem to find a clear description of the difference between them. I'm just mainly using the phone for call purposes. Also using Cingular service. Any suggestions/advice? Thank you! :D

I was just wondering if you or anyone else could help me out. I currently have Verizon, and was planning on switching to Cingular once this phone becomes available. But now it seems that Cingular is no longer planning on offering this phone. My question is...if I were to buy a unlocked/unbranded phone, is it possible to port my number to the new phone as I transfer over from Verizon? If so, what steps do ...

Will AT&T Wireless Return?
Aug 17, 2006, 8:50 PM
in the AT&T Wireless forum

I know it's not "new" news, but has anyone heard about if there is going to be a name change, and if so, when it is going to happen. I was thinking about switching over to Cingular soon, but if they are going to change back to at&t, I would just wait. I know it sounds stupid...same service an all. I'm just the type of person that has to have the "most recent".

Been doing some online research on this phone, and most of the articles said it was supposed to be available early '06. Just wondering if there was anyone out there that has the inside scoop on this.

I also live north of Boston. I had went to a Verizon store over the weekend to inquire about an issue I had with my phone/service. They mentioned they had a "tower down" in my area, so I got the impression that it would not be enough to get out of a contract (not that I wanted to or anything). I also have a couple of friends further north of me, and as far as I ...

Re: Will be dropping verizon asap

I actually went to the Verizon store yesterday. Someone from here suggested I go there and speak to a tech. After looking at my phone, he said he noticed how my phone would go from 2-3 bars, to nothing, and then to 2-3 bars again. There was also a tower down in my area, which he explained was the reason for the very spotty reception. He also told me that basically I would need a ...

What is your location, if I may ask. I live just outside of Boston, and I noticed lately that Verizon's service has been declining too. I used to get very good reception compared to my last carrier, Nextel. My phone now gets full bars in Boston, but I only work there and don't use the phone much when I am in town. But in my home area, I get 2 bars or nothing, and the ...

I know people who had ATTW when it switched to Cingular. Now with the news of Cingular switching back to ATTW, everyone is confused. Don't know if its a good or bad thing. Unless they are aiming for or promising better phone service, customer service, etc., they should just stick with Cingular. Verizon just needs to roll out better phones if it wants to take the #1 spot.

Unfortunately I am the only person that I know of that has it in my area. I had friends that used VZN, but they moved away. Otherwise, the others in my area have Sprint/Nextel or Cingular. But like I said in my original post, I rather just keep my phone as long as I can until I find one that I do like.

Question for VZN sales/tech people
Jul 29, 2006, 7:27 AM

I own a Audiovox CDM 9900. I don't know if its either my phone or the network, but for a while now I have been getting little or no reception. I used to get excellent reception compared to when I had Nextel. People have told me to get a new phone, but others insist that its a network thing. I really dont want to get a new phone, mainly because I don't want to spend ...

I was wondering if the 3G upgrade was mainly for data transfer than call quality. I was thinking of purchasing the LG cu500 because it was the "latest", or waiting for the Motorola V3xx/MAXX. If thats the case, I might just wait and get the Nokia 6126.
