ringtones can only be a certain length.. a length which is usually shorter than an mp3. to use an mp3 as a ring tone.. you have to edit the mp3 in a software like garage band to say 30seconds or so.. then load it on the phone..

To extend battery life.. go to settings > connectivity > packet data > when needed. After this is done.. the 3 with the circle around it is gone from its old place by your battery symbol. Enjoy nearly twice the battery life..

It says on the Nokia website that this phone uses bluetooth 1.1. I have a mac mini w/o the bluetooth and am dying to get a bluetooth adapter. However, i cant find any decent looking ones that run on BT 1.1. Can i get a 2.0 or is that a big no-no. I imagine the newer macs, i.e. powerbooks, have BT 2.0.. -Terry

I love all of these posts. Granted I've only been in the Cell business as a sales rep for roughly 3 months, I and I'm sure everyone who posted here, has dealt with the same scenarios. This thread has taken every feeling Ive had and brought it out of me. AND ALSO: When we say we close at 8 PM, we mean it!! -Terry

i work at a cingular dealer and all i can say is defective product. If you bought it from a retailer, there should be a 30 days no questions asked return policy and not to mention the 1 year manufacture warranty. so all in all, i dont think theres much you can do to 'fix' it. -Terry

converting mp3s

Hey everyone. I would just like to know hot to convert mp3s to a lower sound quality. Most of my mp3s are in 128kbps and id like to lower them to 96kbps for the sake of fitting more on the phone. I'm not sure whether this can be done in itunes (what i have) or not. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I'm planning on buying the Sony Ericsson w600i but before i do i need to know if: a) the Sony software is mac compatible. b.) If i can just transfer music from my mac via the provided USB cable. and C.) are pictures taken on the phone and from the computer transferable between the 2 via USB cable. Any help is greatly appreciated. -Terry
