I too was not happy that my $20 Power Vision account would not allow me to use the Fusic as a modem. In the end, I payed the $39.99 per month to get the phone as modem option. However, there is a piece of software called SnapDialer (http://www.futuredial.com/Products/snapdiale r/P_SD.aspx?gclid=CMmL2bHw1YUCFQZHCwodaQooLQ) that may let you tether without paying the $39.99...right now the software does not support the LX550 (Fusic), but maybe in the future... :-O
