Re: What I don't get is. . .
I agree on that!
Re: A bigger deal if AT&T starts doing this....
I agree! CDMA sounds better.
GSM sounds garbled at times even with a full signal - hate that!
Re: A2DP with Curve 8310 (music via bluetooth)
Don't think the H681 supports the A2DP profile.
The Jabra BT8040 does; it sounds great from the BlackBerry.
Interesting though, when I had the Moto Q9h, it could stream music to other headsets that did not mention supporting A2DP.
Like the WEP500, H700B and the H800.
Re: Q9h or Tilt
I have had both. I prefer the Q9h.
I like the one-handed ease of use of the Q and the integrated speaker-independent voice.
The sound via my BT headset sounds better on the Q.
One of the benefits of the Tilt [IMO] is that HTC included the X-button app to "close" programs instead of leaving them running in memory.
Re: q9 on att today screen
The following worked for me:
Start>My Stuff>Personalize My Q>Home Screen Shortcuts
Uncheck "Show Large Icons".
Then from Home Screen Settings (from within Personalize) change the home screen layout to Smartphone.
Re: Using mp3's as ringtones
I found the registry key to edit the file size limit for ringtones. I was looking for this, as I have ringtones that are over the default size
Key:---\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\So unds
Value Name--FileSizeLimit
Value data---307200
------------------------------ -----------------
I changed my limit to 900000.
The registry editor I used can be found at:

Re: Locked GPS?!
From my experience with the Tilt; the GPS is on COM4. I had to adjust the options in Windows Live and Google Maps to specify that the GPS is on COM4 from within the application for it to work.
Both applications tracked my location accurately.
Not sure on what COM port the GPS is with the Q.

Re: Motorola Q9h or Upcoming Blackjack II?
I am waiting for the Q9h. After using the Q9m, the Q9h has better features.
Although the keyboard of the BJ II looks better than the original and it has some improved features, I'll take the Moto Q9H.
Re: bb8830 vs treo700wx - C.R.
It should work there, as Costa Rica uses GSM 1800.

I'm considering getting this device, however, I am curious are you using the mobile Facebook site?

Not sure if that will help your situation or not.

Re: Umm whats the point?
And the Bluetooth is 1.1
Re: whats the point?
I agree. It makes no sense to me why new CDMA handset have Bluetooth 1.1; especially with the emergence of new 2.0 compliance BT headsets.
Re: Opera Mini?
Opera Mini requires Java; which is something CDMA phones generally don't have.
Re: BOO!
And only 4MB of internal memory. :o

It displays upcoming devices from VZW.
Re: signal strength: EV, TX, D, etc. -- what do they mean?
EV indicates if you're in an area with EV-DO (highspeed) coverage.
1x is the voice signal strentgh indicator
(1x - is display while in a voice convo)
D (only) indicates a digital service area only
EV & 1X and EV & D - may also be seen together.
When I'm in my home service area, I'll turn my ERI banner off, however, when I'm traveling, I'll turn it on.
The ERI banner is what will tell you if you're on VZW's network, extended network or ...
Re: Does the SLVR support Bluetooth v.1.1 or v.1.2?
Phonescoop does shows the BT version on the site for the devices.
It is 2.0 for the SLVR L7.
