VM versus TING and coverage?
Mar 31, 2012, 10:07 AM
in the Virgin Mobile forum

I have been checking out a new MVNO called TING (Google it for more deets). So far, they seem perfect for me. No contracts, a la carte choices/billing and they have the coverage of Sprint network. Their coverage map is the same as Sprint's. I was also considering VM. But their coverage map looks terrible for me. I'm in NJ but do travel. TING and VM are on the Sprint network so shouldn't VM's coverage map look the same as Sprint's map ...

Well, that was kind of a ridiculous statement to make and obviously shows your inappropriate bias. ATT works just fine if you need to make calls or if you need the ego stroking and ridiculously expensive iPhone. Verizon offers "cute little gadget that is pretty, plays music, and can make an occasional phone call" as well. So, please, stop the charade already. Almost every single phone Verizon offers is all about glitter, bling and glam...texting, video, and other cute crap that ...

OK...away from the NOOB question and to put this topic back on track!!!!! I saw and read this info Ray(thanks for responding btw) but it is dated September. A lot of "noise" has floated since then saying it won't be, it is delayed. I was hoping for some current details. I have Googled like crazy but found nothing relevant.

Does anyone else have any news on the 6800? I need serious details and facts. I need a DO IT ALL phone and might have to leave Verizon for Cingular's awesome 8525. I would have to pay an early termination fee too since I don't end until May 2007.

Sorry, I thought this info might also help. I am in the Philadelphia/southern NJ area. Broadband, Cable and DSL are all plentiful. Cell phone services and signals are plentiful. I want the phone for e-mails, calls and task management and if I use it to get my laptop online, the laptop would be for basic e-mail checking and accessing the MLS service for clients or basic website visits. No video stuff or music downloading, etc. This is business.

What would the DATA SYNC speed be like with a laptop?

Hello all... Been coming to this website for over a year now and this is the first post I needed to make. I need a DO IT ALL phone. I am a real estate agent. I want WiFi, DATASYNC, a touch screen so I can make notes and drawings without notepads, and e-mail/contact management that will work with Outlook. This phone fits all my needs. I am currently with Verizon and must wait 4 months to switch. 2 things are ...

I was hoping this review would delve into something very important to Smart Phone users. The capability of this phone to handle applications. What is the processor power like, what is the speed like, what is the memory like? Does it crash easily, run out of memory easily? What is this phone like playing simple games like Yahtzee or Monopoly? What is it like with productivity software..such as Mortgage calculators, more advanced contact management programs...things you WILL buy and WILL ...

Karmaego said: unless you live in Europe or the Far East where cellphones are like candy in one of the $.25 dispensors, you'll always be a couple of years behind in phone quality. You can thank the FCC for that faux pas. Darn right Karm! I have travelled to Asia extensively...Japan, China, Tawain and Korea. Even the '3rd world' Asian countries have better service than we do. I MEAN IT! They have broadband! You should see the powerful, broadband, fully ...

Thanks for the honest review and personal experience. I will take what you said into consideration as I wait for further reviews of this phone to appear in leading publication and websites. And Jmart...take a powder. Are you so small minded? Are you sleeping with your Motorola products that you feel a need to defend them? Does Motorola pay you to post immature comments and waste space? The Jeffola was relating his experience. People like Jmart are why we have ...
