Why dont you check out the bb curve? I just switched from my 8525, and I will never own anything that is not Blackberry again. It is far easier to use and more direct with email. However, it is not high speed and no video capture. but will read a 4GB card, will read ANY video(DVD), and ANY music file. Auto-text and spellcheck are extremely valuable as well.

How about the motorola startac 7868? circa 1999. Sooooo old phone scoop doesn't even have the specs. The best and first real clam-shell flip. the only Moto that I would have ever owned.

Anyone know if they will have a WORKING data cable and software this time around? We had to go outside the U.S. when the cu500 came out to get software and cable. Took like 2 weeks just to find it. With HSDPA 3.6 alot of people will want to use it as a modem. Won't be able to do it without cable and drivers.

Its probably not our network its the stupid iphone. It is apples first phone you know. As far as I know they manufactured all their own parts. So if the phone side is dropping calls it could be partially due to lower compatibilty than some of the other phones. this is the same problem LG had when they first started making GSM phones.

this is not a device problem. This is new windows media player problems. I have had the same issue with mine. unfortunately there is no fix. it is due to write-protection. You can however go to open file and add them all individually to the que and then they will work np. A bit of a headache but it works. they are working on an update for windows media player that sort of fixes it, but since they have ...

First things first. Truthfully we cannot compare this phone to allot of the pdas or any of the plain phones for that matter. Considering it was not designed to be a PDA. then again it wasn't really designed to be just another phone either. This would be allot like what RIM did when they first launched their devices for nextel. One word: REVOLUTIONARY. You can kind of compare it to the blackberrys I guess the fit into almost the ...

If you call the insurance company they can insure it for you seperate from cingular. the deductible will be higher and you will not get the phone replaced as easily. They will cut you a check so you can buy a new one. Check with your home-owners ins. or auto ins. first. they may be able to insure it for you cheaper.

It will read 4GB out of box, but it depends on what brand. Sandisk ecrypts something in their memory cards that prohibits some of the phones from recognizing larger than 2GB. For instance the lgcu500 will only read a 1GB sandisk however the 2GB transcend card will work fine in it. My 8525 reads a 16Gb no-name brand that i got from Taiwan. I had to send it to a windows mobile specialist to have it modified to ...

With the iphone the only better features you really get than what the 8525 offers are: Safari browser ( without 3g is annoying due to web page detail), and visual voicemail(symuelsays makes this software for 8525 and blackberrys). The 8525 is a PDA, the iphone is not. with the wifi on both it is a tough choice. However for the more technically savy users the 8525 is the better way to go for price and usability. For the less technical ...

It will be nice to see Deutsche telekom finally put some effort toward their north american market. Personally I have always liked T-mo for their customer service. What about TV's with sim card slots for NO-WIRES cable access. It's all in the not-too-distant future with the NEW AT&T merger. I've heard they will be launching this technology in europe as early as next year. Current speeds on their UMTS already exceeds 25MBPS. So it is totally possible to stream Hi-def programming straight to your TV at those speeds. The TV's that have it will probably be pretty expensive for a while, but as with all new ...

How does cingular profit from it? Don't they have to be an licenced insurance company? I thought all profits go to the insurance company for cost of goods and such. For instance, some of the phones that get sent to customers on insurance are unlocked unbranded handsets. This is a rarety, but it does happen. This would suggest that who ever processes the claims is getting their handsets from the manufacturer direct, and not from cingulars inventory. Now ...

I apreciate you explaining that for me. But as far as it being a profitable feature It cannot be by law unless those who sell it are licenced insurance agents. That being a pretty expensive test there is no way that all cingular employees could be paid a spiff for selling it. Unless it is called a warrenty. The insurance company may profit off of it but not cingular. This is "as far as I know" so do not ...

If cost is a factor, why do they not simply raise the deductable on higher end devices? Or even the cost of the insurance per month? Availabilty should not be an issue. Almost all customers with high end devices would pay more for insurance. That is a given. Why would you not have insurance if the cost of your phone is over $300? I do not see many of these devices being broken due to the fact that the ...

The question is why are some insurable and some not? The new insurance company is assurion and no longer Lockline. I do understand that you said it is all on cingular to decide what to insure, but other carriers that also use assurion insure ALL their Devices. Verizon for one will insure their treo's. They happen to be a bit more costly than ours, because they are CDMA. I'm just wondering if cingular ...

Since you all think you are better than indirect agent employees. Obviously you don't understand with certain things cingular wants its agents to focus on different areas than its cor locations. For instance cor and online pricing is sometimes better than what any agent can offer on certain phones due to the costs cingular gives its agents on certain phones. Cor and online obviously focus more on gross adds than anything. While the agents are told exactly what they ...

You can get the media max 3000 on the blackjack but not the media max 1000. It requires data plan $39.99 or higher. however with the media max 3000 you will not be able to use express mail or get push email at all. Cingular allows this in the place of the PDA connect. Or you can get the PDA max if 3000 text is not enough.

They are incresing rates to cover their asses. Not because of greed. They dont turn much of a profit off of text pay per use. Aggrements with the companies who admin these pay-per-use texts and supply the technology for it determine pay-per-use rates. Why do you think everybody's prices are going up around the same time. Any NOKIA is by far the best for getting reception they are cingulars most reliable phones. It is a little known fact that NOKIA manufactures 3/4 of the worlds cell tower(receivers and repeaters) technology at least for GSM. Yes and I don't think that altel has m2m for anything other than family plans. T-mobile you gotta wonder how they've been doing it for so long. They can't be profitting too much from the way they do business. That would be why their coverage in the US is still crap after so many years. It wont change anything other than the name and maybe some kick-off priceplan promos. With what happened before it was one WIRELESS company going broke being bought out by another WIRELESS company. The AT&T company that bought SBC cingulars parent company had nothing to do with AT&T WIRELESS. They were never the same company just the same name. And since now AT&T does NOT have wireless they will just use our billing and plans from what I've heard. This ...
