Re: AT&T PDA Data plan
Nov 14, 2008, 2:38 PM
in the HTC Fuze / Touch Pro (GSM) forum

You can get any phone without a data plan from AT&T (with exception of the iPhone). As long as you don't mind foregoing your rebate, which is what the data plan is tied to. For some phones, that might not be a good deal (some have a $100 rebate); for the Fuze however, the rebate on the data plan is only $50. You'll have already paid that back after two months, which is the minimum amount of time it ...

$99.99

in the HTC 3125 / Smartflip / 8500 (Star Trek) forum

Just wanted to let everyone know that Cingular has this phone until at least March 31st for $99.99 on their website. You have to pay $199.99 for it, but then they send you a Visa debit card worth $100, which you can most likely put back in your bank account. It does not mention having to have a data plan anywhere, but you may want to check first. Up until yesterday, they had a rebate form on their website for ...

Wow, that phone seriously looks terrible. In fact, of the (very few) features mentioned on the page I read about the phone (sorry, your link didn't have the story anymore), the only thing that looked interesting was wi-fi support, which the author said they weren't even sure about (if it would make it into the phone). Additionally, aren't Pantech the ones that make those stupid little phones that are the size of a MiniDV cassette tape? I hate those things. Sorry, ...

Logitech makes some decent ones, that you can usually find pretty cheap on Amazon, Froogle, or (very cheap, when they come up) Woot.com. See here for more information on how to enable stereo output on the 3125: https://www.phonescoop.com/phones/p_ forum.php?fm=m&ff=899&fi=840166

Re: Reconnecting Bluetooth Headphones?
Nov 20, 2006, 3:34 PM
in the HTC 3125 / Smartflip / 8500 (Star Trek) forum

If I remember correctly, if the phone is on and Bluetooth is enabled, you should just have to turn the headset on (hold the power until it dings), and then press and release the headset. This should force it to re-sync with the phone.

I don't think that's possible. Pretty sure everyone here (with Cingular, anyway) bought the 2-year contract, with a data plan of some sort (able to cancel after your rebate or what-not), and then got the phone for $150.

I don't know of one. Not sure if they make one yet, though I assume they will soon enough. You could also try hacking one together out of the headphones that came with the phone, and your favorite pair of headphones (*warning* doing so may destroy your favorite pair of headphones). Finally, you can pick up a bluetooth stereo headset (Logitech makes one, I think Motorola may too, I'm sure others as well), and use it in this way ...

I couldn't disagree with this use any less. The buttons are huge, and you'd have to have hooves to have a hard time with them. The only issue that I could see is that you can't always tell which button is which without looking, but you're running into the same thing with the RAZR. The lights are *NOT* a big deal at all, and if this is an issue, it can be overcome simply by flipping the phone over so ...

Dunno about the home screen stuff (though I'm sure it can be accomplished somehow). Yes you have to get the data plan, yes you can drop it once you receive your rebate.

Or, door number 3. :) Use Windows Media Player, switch it to your storage card (I can't sync right now, so I don't remember quite where it is, but it is in a drop-down menu I believe), and then drag the songs into Windows Media Player.

in the HTC 3125 / Smartflip / 8500 (Star Trek) forum

Uhm....no, not really. Actually, I was sort of worried about that, but honestly, that is not a problem. Probably the biggest annoyance would be that while the case fits tightly around the phone when closed, while opened, there is a bit of slack, and the cover tends to slip over the top or bottom part (usually the top). It's easy to slide back on, just a bit annoying. However, I'd still rather do this any day than have to get a ...

Doh, are you sure? I thought I read somewhere that the stereo option for bluetooth on the 3125 was disabled by default, and you could use a registry change to enable stereo over bluetooth. I could be wrong, but you may want to investigate that before you send them on their merry way. :)

Yeah, the one I have has some weird model number on it that doesn't make much sense....not that it matters anyway since it is discontinued and all mention of its existence has been removed from Logitech's website. :P I think as long as it is A2DP, Bluetooth 1.2, and stereo, it should work. Don't hold me to that, but those are the specs the phone has, so as long as the headphones align with that, I don't see why it ...

From what I can remember (I don't have this phone anymore), during a call, press the right soft key (very top-right button), and choose "Speakerphone". This should enable the speakerphone mode. Good luck!

Yeah, still worth it at $35 I think. Just know that there is a very real chance that they will break, and at that point, you'll have to figure out if you want to try to fix them, or try to obtain a refund from Logitech. At any rate, they sound wonderful, so I don't think you'll be disappointed. :) Good luck!

Compares: Very favorably. :) To hopefully put it into perspective, I was pretty floored at the sound that came out of the earbuds. They produce a lot of sound. The bluetooth headset is louder/clearer (assuming you are within range of the phone). With the phone at max volume, and the headset at full volume, it is too loud. And I don't mean in that "speaker cracking" sort of way. The sound is very clear, it is just too loud. For as ...

Ok, just got my Logitech headset. This confirms for sure: the phone is A2DP compliant. :) I am currently listening to Dave Brubeck, streaming via Bluetooth from the phone to my headset in nice stereo quality. :) I *highly* recommend this setup. Watch http://www.woot.com for the next time this headset is on sale. $25 to your door. Sound quality is really, really nice. Much better than the earbuds that were supplied. This headset is meant to work with an iPod. The ...

Duh, oops. Here's another idea: instead of trying to put the top and bottom in, or putting it in backwards, just take the top of the phone, and slide it under the bottom center-strap, through the top center-strap, and then into the top cover. Then, just stretch the bottom cover over the bottom of the phone. Voila. That just proves that once again, the greatest discoveries happen on accident. I think that's called serendipity, or something. ;)

I don't think so. I hope not. I just got a pair of Logitech Bluetoothies off of w00t, so if they don't work, I guess it is a good bet that it was indeed disabled. I don't believe it was though, from the little I was able to gather. I'll report back as soon as I know something.

Hey all, I just bought a silicone/neoprene case cover for this phone off of eBay. It came with the case, covers for both displays, and a lanyard (strap). It seems to work quite well thus far! For anyone that buys one of these, some tips to help you get it installed: 1. The covers have two protective shipping/installation covers on them, each side labeled "1" or "2". Peel the "1" cover off, and then cover it over the display you are working ...

I bought two of these off of eBay (one for my phone, one for my wife's). It has worked without any trouble thus far (about two weeks of use). http://www.newegg.com/product/produc t.asp?item=N82E16820211041 I wouldn't think there would be any compatability issues, other than some brands are probably junkier than others (which may turn out to be "less compatible" in the end). Also, as Naborneo pointed out, make sure you get a MICRO SD card, and not a MINI SD card. The micro SD ...

Maybe you can edit the custom home screen to include that option? I only read very briefly about the home screen themes, but I thought it used something like an XML file to control everything. Might be a way to accomplish what you are hoping to do?

Is it just an 1/8th inch stereo jack (that's what I use for my car)? If so, I would imagine that it could be accomplished, but don't ask me to go into the details. :) The only question would be how much power the phone puts out through the headphones, and would it be enough that the sound would be ok going to the receiver (again, my guess is that this would not be a problem, but I am not ...

Can you check the task manager thing and see if the camera application is running? If it is, kill it (highlight it and press "7"), quit out, and see if you can start it. If it still doesn't work, go kill it again, power down your phone, power it back up, and see if that does it.

Probably gonna need to hit eBay, at least for the time being. Cingular didn't have anything when I bought mine, since it is so new. Go to eBay and look up a charger for the 3125 (or alternative the HTC Star Trek, or one of the other names the phone goes by).

I'd say good to very good. On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd probably give it a 7.5. My last phone (Motorola V190) had really good reception, and I'd say the 3125 is probably on par with that. I'm sure there are phones out there that get better reception, but probably not too many. I don't think you'll be disappointed, but make sure to try the phone out once you get it. If it doesn't work, use your return ...
