Thanks. Saves me from dreaming.

Was the compactness not compelling?

I didn't get the drift of this sentence in the conclusion: "and the only compelling use for the folding screen that I found was taking certain types of photos without a needing a tripod." Did you mean "besides the compact form factor ...", and therefore would still be compelling for people who value pocketability? Or was the compact form factor just not as compelling as one would think, like maybe it was bulky in the pocket?

TurboPower Pack Moto mod + Moto Z3 (more mAh with Z4) gives similar freedom (and bulk) without being unreasonably tall. But that combo is nowhere near as powerful with only a Snapdragon 835 and 4GB of RAM.

Absolutely. The 16 GB on-board storage alone makes it mid range.

To add to your point, if there's a wireless charging option (I thought I read that somewhere) and it requires removal of the stock back, then a cheap stock back is good. Errata to the review: microphone is on the bottom, no? Eric is my go-to reviewer. The only key element missing from his reviews is a statement about whether the phone being reviewed supports the Apt-X codec.

And no wireless charging option, like the optional back for the Lucid 2. I've looked in vain on VerizonWireless and LG and Google search, and found no mention of wireless charging. You'd think that with the increased overall size, and similar (9.9 mm vs. the Lucid 2's 9.8 mm) depth, they would have the room to either include wireless charging like in the Verizon G2, or make the phone slightly thinner. Why oh why do they still sell ...

1 GB of RAM? 8 GB of on-board storage? This is an oh-so-slight update of Verizon's LG Lucid 2: - Quad core instead of dual core. - 4.7" instead of 4.3". But wait, the Lucid 2's 4.3" doesn't have on-board navigation keys, so in most uses, it's more like 4.35" vs. 4.3". - 2440 mAh battery vs. 2460 mAh removable battery (the article doesn't say whether the Mini's battery is removable). - NFC vs. none. - Kit Kat vs. ...

The fact that AnonDood capitalized PHONE was supposed to mean emphasis, I guess. This is why learning proper 'Net English or English is a good thing if you want to make yourself understandable to others. Alternatives to "PHONE": - "*Phone*" (many text editors convert the characters between asteriks to Bold, if they support Bold displays), - something like "Basic Phone" or "Phone for Voice".

This may be useless for your problem, because I do not have a W755. However, I am having that problem with my Motorola e815 and a very good wired headset (VXI Blue Parrot CP110, a new model, $60, noise cancelling headset, with boom mic going right to my lips: http://www.vxicorp.com/storefront/pc-2 71-22-blueparrott-cp110.aspx What I'm finding is that more people report "hollow" sound than they do when I'm using the cheap stereo earbud headset that came with my Verizon accessories package two years ...

Re: Possible to get Centro and keep voice-only emp. discount plan?

Thanks much sangyup81, tntk2k1, willv. The voice+data plan with lump sum discount is a good idea, except when I investigated the retail prices, it's a $40 difference, as far as I can tell: - 450 v+data plan: $79.99. - 450 voice plan: $39.99 (I have this now) Not the $30 that's being ballyhooed.

Possible to get Centro and keep voice-only emp. discount plan?
Jul 11, 2008, 11:12 AM
in the Verizon forum

Ready for my new-every-two. My current plan is a 19%-off employee discount voice-only plan, but I've since retired from the company. 1. Will they ask me for proof that I'm an employee when I do a new-every-two? 2. Can I get a Centro and not purchase a data plan? I carry both a PDA and a phone now, am just looking for device consolidation. Thanks for any help.

The gray small text at the bottom of this link, which says "If you enrolled in the program on or after 11/25/02, you must take advantage of the New Every Two offer within six months of becoming eligible; otherwise, you may be charged full retail price to upgrade your current handset." http://support.vzw.com/features/ calling_features/new_every_two.html

Also, depending on when you signed up with VZ, your "New Every Two" might expire 6 months after your renewal date.

Re: Best VZW phones ...

Moto e815: best reception ever. Razrs almost as good. Why oh why didn't Motorola tout this about their phones, so they wouldn't need to sell off the phone business? One problem with the e815: Upgrading. All those newer phones' PDA features are so tempting. But who wants to trade down to lesser call performance?
