Sounds like a great phone, but how is the reception? What part of the country are you in? Do you know if the phone is using the 850Mhz network?
I'm confident the phone has plenty of features everyone could use, but the big question is how well it works on Cingular's network.

No, it is not. This phone works only with cellular providers using GSM technology. Verizon is CDMA and AMPS (analog) spectrum in its network.
This phone works for Cingular and T-Mobile. Thought it is a "tri-band" GSM phone, only its 1900 Mhz capability works in the US. The other bands (900 & 1800) are more prevalent in other parts of the world (thus it is known as a "world phone").

Th ey also have a complete assortment of SIM skins. Oh, and bye the way, no contract agreement needed. I'm considering purchasing one myself.
