Re: Buyout/Merger?????
Outstanding response. Educated and well written. Kudos to you.
Re: Hello Better? ....
I love how the general consensus for many is that if you want to treat customers better then by all means you better do it for free, and when they complain that networks aren't developed fast enough and that USC is slow to get phones then that is BS too. How DARE they charge for things that have been costing the company MILLIONS.
Advanced exchange program has been around for years... It started that only about 500 smartphones per month ...
Re: Now Ntelos (and Alaska Communications) gets the Iphone
Yes I still agree with them not buying into a contract with Apple that will decrease profit margins considerably like the other carriers have already experienced especially since the 4S is not 4G capable. Why on earth would a company that is quickly and aggressively updating their network to 4G invest in a non 4G phone?
Seems silly and a poor business business move. I fully expect to see an agreement made when Apple gets off its ass and creates ...
Re: Update for Motorola Electrify???
Yes added to the update list for sometime in 2012. Most likely the same time as the Verizon updates in third/forth quarter of 2012.
Re: Is 4G Coming to US Cellular Late 1st Quarter? Any Idea of Phones Being Tested?
Just a quick note... The Aviator is NOT a Galaxy S II phone. Its not even a dual core processor. Its basically the Mesmerize (Galaxy S I) with a 4G radio in it.
The S II and the Electrify are faster better processing speed phones.
Reasons: Verizon and ATT / Sprint have larger Single band blocks of spectrum to run their LTE networks on. Because of this, they have been able to launch faster. However.. This also prevents roaming ...
Re: US Cellular Employees Take Large Paycut!!!!!!!!!!
Most of my associates make 2-3k per month consistently.
Re: In your opinion, why hasn't US Cellular had the growth in customers?
The iPhone sells because of incredibly well done marketing. NOT because it is the best phone. THats just a fact in today's world. Whomever markets the best outsells the rest.
Re: In your opinion, why hasn't US Cellular had the growth in customers?
Just as a heads up. I have been with US Cellular as an agent for 10 years and live in an area (New England)where roaming can be rampant due to the smaller nature of our states. NEVER have I seen anyone get shut off.
FACT: MOST people use the phone 99.9% of the time in the areas they live in.
I would not worry about this rule and yes it does apply to every carrier.
Re: Blackberry Torch
Not much interest here.
Mostly Android. Good effort by RIM but their obstacle still remains the hurdles developers have to jump to release apps.
Re: Just signed up for US Cellular, and I want to change my phone?
What information is that?
And why is it they have to go to a COR store?
Re: When is Android 2.3 coming to the HTC Merge?
What you have said above has some validity - in the past.
However i think that if you look at product launches over the last 10 - 12 months you will find that USC, Sprint and VZW are launching the same phones virtually at the same time. The exceptions are exclusivly licensed devices for a certain carrier which tend to last 3 - 4 months to gain the "edge" on the competition. Larger carriers like VZW and AT&T are ...
Re: When will the HTC Desire S be released?
Motorola Electrify (Photon) to be launched in August as long as no deplays.
Desire 2 (S) - October.
Re: Windows Phone 7
it is available now
Re: Windows Phone 7
Its called the HTC Gold and is currently in beta testing.
Re: WAKE UP...means more than you think
Har har har har....
Sarcasm can be great can't it? Look I'm just tellin you how it is. Been here 8 years, seen lots of changes. Run 5 stores... Maybe its different here in NH but people aren't running away at all.
CNN did rank NH as having the highest median income in the nation. That must be it.
Re: WAKE UP...means more than you think
Stay on your current plan if that makes sense for you. Thats fine. No one if forcing your hand.
However this was designed for the masses and the way the industry is heading with data and smartphones. over 60% of the country has smartphones. Thats crazy!
Keep what works for you... However like I said in a previous post, (at least in my area) at least 90% of the people in the stores are switching. They love it. Most cases ...
Re: WAKE UP...means more than you think
The only thing I would suggest looking at is the fact that even though its $30 more then where she is now, she does get the Nationwide GPS included in her smartphone plans.
Thats a $20.00 value to her vs. the other carriers that charge for that service at $10 per month.
Plus you could do the 5% discount for checking account payment which would be $11.00 discount.
Like many have said... sure its not for everyone. But I can ...
Re: Well now, that was vague...
Exactly!!!
VErizon also charges an additional $9.95/mo. for the SAME TeleNav based GPS that US Cellular offers along with their 5GB Data package for $30.00.
WAKE UP PEOPLE!
Re: People Leaving
Agreed. The average Tenure for my associates is 2 years. I have some at 4,5 and 6.
Re: Mythos 2010
Sweet! The Daveman can find out what it is. Hmmm ok Daveman. Make that phone call and PM me with the big secret. Put your mouth where the money is.
Re: Mythos 2010
I can tell you... nothing! You will have to wait till "the big reveal".
Can't even tell you a date. I'm sorry.
Re: Mythos 2010
Of course... My name isn't drksyde for nuthin. Wooo haahhahaahhaaaa!
Re: Mythos 2010
Can't say.
Re: What android phones could be coming to USCC?
Oh good... Glad you thought so. I was worried about what your opinion of my opinion was going to be. It really mans a great deal to me that you shared your thoughts on this, and I am glad to see that my mature response was received as intended.
Re: What android phones could be coming to USCC?
BLECH! Windows Mobile is awful.
Re: Blackberry plan
I can tell you that chances of this will be slim. This is a HUGE revenue source for US Cellular. In order for US Cellular to make network improvements and continue 4G roll out.
This type of revenue sources are vital for any carrier to continue to roll out new products and phones. Also, please consider that USC does not pocket that full $25.00. A good portion goes to RIM.
Anyway, the only way I see a Blackberry family ...
Re: NOKIA
According to a recent C Call I was on, Nokia is not interested in dealing with US Cellular at this time do to the small size of the company. This is also true of Apple regarding the iPhone. US Cellular has approached both. Sorry for that news.
Re: Black Friday Weekend Super Sale
Possibly, but after speaking with inventory services yesterday you may not get one there either.
Sorry. :(
Re: Subsidary
Hi Mouse... US Cellular has 5 different Touch screens including the newest HTC Touch Pro 2 with windows 6.5
The LG Tritan, The Samsung Caliber and Delve,
US Cellular also has 3G in most of its markets however there are a few that aren't yet but will be by early 2010.
I wont spread too many speculations but US Cellular is also ahead of many of the other company's in its 4G network.
What area do you live in if you don't ...
Re: Black Friday Weekend Super Sale
EVERY phone is included. However you may be hard pressed to find a TP2 in stock. They are on backorder. :(
Re: Saygus VPhone V1 - Android Phones
It will most likely be a Motorola platform next quarter.
Re: Black Friday Weekend Super Sale
ALL Phones will be free after Mail in rebate of either $50 or $70. Data plan AND to year agreement required.
By the sounds of it... you qualify. Congrats and enjoy the new BlackBerries!
Re: Subsidary
Its a stand alone company and the only company that operates without a debt load.
Compare the lineups... with the exception of the Storm's the iPhone and the Droid the lineups are virtually identical.
Praytell, what makes ALL of their phones better than US Cellular?
Re: Why are US Celluar stores Closing
Jay is retiring at year end. He is done with the work force. He isn't being forced out, or quitting.
He has been a great asset to this company and a very intelligent man. I have had a few conversations with him and he is great to talk to.
Re: Why are US Celluar stores Closing
That being said,
Of course it is much less expensive for the Carrier no matter who it is to have Agent locations as opposed to the overhead of operating their own store.
Re: Why are US Celluar stores Closing
Sign of the times unfortunately. No Sale going forth.
Re: Android
I hear rumor of it being a "Hello Moto"
Re: EVDO roll out
Expectations have been set that EVERY market will have it late Spring early summer 2010
Re: internet
I personally like the Anaology:
"Like buying a water pistol and never putting water in it..."
Re: blackberry tour
The answer you seek is listed on several threads here on the forum.
Even if they knew about it, they aren't supposed to tell you.
