Linked keys?

Any idea of what the purpose of the 3 sets of linked keys on the right side are? Aesthetic choice by Motorola I guess?

I haven't found a way to change any of the arrow keys. It is a media phone, which explains why they set them with Send text, On Demand, Downloads, and Media player. I suppose that's why they created the favorites menu on the left soft key. You can set your most used options, and its still pretty easy and quick to access them. :) Side note: I wish they set the Up (send text) key to just access ...

in the Sanyo SCP-8400 forum

As it comes, there is no way to save text messages to the SD card. I doubt anyone has a "fix" to allow text storage on the SD. 200 messages (roughly) in both Inbox and Sent seems like more than enough storage, even for a heavy texter. Unless you're one of those people who likes to save a bunch of texts for later viewing for whatever reason.

Text messages: I've had 200 in the Inbox, I've had 199 in Outbox. I'm not sure but i think that number is based on how much free space is in phone memory itself. no more at 200 for sure though. You can send the same message to up to 25 recipients. It doesn't allow multiple messages, just multiple recipients. I've had a sidekick and a PPC-6700, the full keyboard was nice, I still think that was faster than using ...

I'm bored at work too :) I've had the 8400 a few days now and I love it. The music has helped me pass the time at work here :P Lemme paint you a picture, I've had 10 phones on 3 different carriers in the past 3 years, 7 of which were on Sprint (left and came back). I have to say for my wants and needs, this is the best phone I've ever had. Music plays pretty ...

There are also many Government buildings that don't allow camera phones. We have a lot of troops stationed in the fort in our area that cant have them on base as well, but they still like having the Ready Link to use with their buddies :)

The Verizon Razr: V3c does not have a microSD slot, your're right on that. They've since replaced it with the V3M which has a microSD slot next to the battery under the cover. They also added the GPS that goes with VZ Navigator. Y'know, for those people who are... Lost. 8O

Yea, you can see the Intra-carrier debate coming. But think, all these phones will be on the same network, they now have an experimental control. They have a chance to see how they stack up in terms of performance. People can't blame the network for poor performance, you can see it's the phone! The feature debate won't change though 8O

The Day My Water Charger Went Nuts

in the Article: DoCoMo Recharges Phones With Water forum

I couldn't find any other water around and i HAD to charge my phone. I was hiking in the woods and came upon a river downstream from a factory of some kind. I put the water in my charger and now its glowing green! I plugged it into my phone and it started growing... The beefed-up microrganisms then took complete control over it and... (continue the weird and crappy story)

There's a light sensor somewhere on the phone, so it turns on the keypad lights whenever its dark enough. So in a way, yea it lights up when it wants to lol. I haven't found any setting or preference to control the keypad lights being on all the time though.

Where would they put an extra star on the flag? It's pretty crowded already. Give Texas back to Mexico, they're the only state allowed to fly their flag at the same height as the US flag. Why is that anyway? What makes Texas so special? (I don't hate Texas, I just like stirring up trouble)

They have Crank chargers that are human powered, so if your arms doesn't fall off you can use it to take a drink. Maybe they found a way to shrink people down and put them inside with hand cranks! You have to think about what kind of water you can use in this thing. How would it's performance be affected if you used say... tap water vs. bottled water? On that outdoor trip you're planning, would it be able to use straight water from a stream, most likely have to filter it first I'd assume. And think of the near future... "I only use Dasani in MY water charger! It's the best!"

I'm willing to wager that people will Still not know how to use it, reguardless of the "Hold my hand" efforts of VZW. Some of the people I talk to really don't know which carrier they have, so they pull out their phone and say "Oh! I have Samsung!" as a self-gratified smile spreads across their face.

I'm using the standard 64mb microsd that was included with my phone until I get a better one. As a sales person, it's usually safer to tell a customer they will be charged for the features right off the bat, confirm that they're agreeable to paying for them right away. Once they understand they're paying for the features, and they see them on their contract, then you can say "Oh, and they are giving you the features you agreed to pay for, free for a month! Bonus for you!" They know they are paying for the features they ...

The best prices I've found came from price comparison sites like Nextag.com. They also calculate the total price including shipping if you plug in a zip code. Either that or Ebay, they have good prices on cards, just be sure to check the shipping costs before you commit to buy. I've seen shipping as high as $30 8O

I called in to T-mobile a couple days ago, but I didn't ask about getting an SK3. I finally got tired of my SK2 dropping my calls, and I read that the SK3 has "the same notoriously weak signal". Wish I could pay full retail, on a limited budget. I couldn't afford to get the SK2 either but I did my homeqork and made it work for me. I got my SK2 new, $50 off the net, and got a $50 rebate on it, and I actually got the check back lol. I know they wont have anything nearly as good on the SK3 as its so new its not even out yet =P

Can't upgrade yet, only had it for a couple months, though i did manage to get it before T-Mobile changed all their new agreements to 2 years. My sister loves my SK2, maybe I can just add a line and swap the SIMs, make her take the SK2 and I get a new phone =P

I currently have an SK2 I got a couple months ago, I love it but I love this one more! I love the SK2 for its design, but always wanted a beter camera and MP3 player. Anyone know if you can trade up to an SK3 without paying the Full retail? Anything like sending in the SK2 and paying the difference in retail value? Thanks in advance for the input. (I feel a disappointment coming on... :P )

I have to agree with you. like the look of the SK2 MUCH better. The scroll wheel is being replaced with a soft mouse... type... thing... wondering how sensitive it would be, and if you could change the sensitivity. Sometimes you wanna just skim through a page fast, other times you wanna slowly tick down. i dunno, with the wheel, you constantly control the sensitivity. Plus, it excercises the thumb (not that you need anymore with that keyboard) ...
