It would be a much different world if carriers only sold what manufacturers came up with or decided to make. Can't say better or worse, but MUCH different...

Like I said there are 2 exceptions, they give employees free GPS with the Instinct (not PAM), and Blackberrys get both included. Everyone else has to pay $10 for these features.

uuuuuhh... its kind of impossible to work for Sprint and have a 'basic talk only plan'... just because you don't use everything else doesn't mean you don't have the option. You make it sound like you'd have to PAY for more services or somethin... Employee phones have ONE plan... it includes EVERYTHING except downloads, GPS and PAM (with 2 exceptions on particular phones)

It actually looks a lot different from the 800w (this is just kind of a bad shot) if you go to palminfocenter.com or gizmodo.com you can see a bunch of good pictures and specs, its actually a lot thinner. Finally a Treo with a display thats flush with the housing! It makes the phone look so much better!
Oh and by the way the Treo 800w is THE BEST WINDOWS MOBILE DEVICE! PERIOD!

Ok, as far as the signal goes, you're right to stick with Sanyo.
Very soon on the horizon if you decide you want to go with a full feature phone, you'll be looking for the Pro 800 or the Katana Eclipse (Full specs TBD, but they look higher end). If the Pro 800 is anything similar in design to the recently launched 200 and 700 you shouldn't have too much of a problem with durability. The 800 isn't going to ...

So this is a hilarious, slightly rude, yet not outrightly offensive, possibly acceptable, tactic against a customer who is being rude and just making your job difficult (note: I've never done it).
So one of our reps here keeps a bag of chips, nuts, or other snack (preferably crunchy he says) open on his desk within easy access. And after a certain point if the customer starts making him mad... just slowly pours some into his hand, looks em in ...

The problem is Nextel got in over their heads, they spent too much and didn't earn it back... So yeah everyone always talks about how great Nextel used to be and everything should go back to how they used to do things, but then fail to see the big picture:

As a Sprint rep myself, I can appreciate iDEN phones for what they are... EXTREMELY well built phones. HOWEVER... at what point do we ask ourselves if thats enough? Better GPS? I'd say thats up for speculation... and I personally would have to disagree with that (I think they're equal). I guess I'm just wanting others to refresh my memory about WHY iDEN is still a beneficial network at this point. I'm just not seeing it. 8O ... ...

It probly just doesn't work for iDEN. I've been looking for a good site for my iDEN phone and can't find one (I don't think they exist). You should switch to Sprint.

Its not going away for many reasons, but a big one because their most anticipated phone the Instinct is coming out in June and guess what? They're getting smart about it... the phone REQUIRES you get on a Simply Everything plan.
There was rumors it would have an extra $70 data plan, but thats not true... $70 is where the SE plans start (just not unlimited minutes.
