Still, I like the option of having WiFi especially since I'm a cheap prick that would rather use my own internet that pay extra every month. I have a Dare right now, but ive seen nothing yet that says this will kill the Iphone. We shall see.

so far this is one feature im not impressed with. it constantly misinterprets letters. im using a finger nail to write instead of a stylus but the letters look like they should. they just don't get interpreted like they should.

he's right. the chocolate first came out over seas. it was a huge hit over there, so verizon brought it here. you can import it from various websites and it comes in 2 colors that i know of. you might have to pay a nice chunk of change for it though.

no problem with the upgrade. all of my ringtones, pics and vids are intact. there's always a chance that your stuff will get wiped out whether verizon does it or you do it. i let verizon do it to save me the time and hassle.

no problem with my battery either. i love this phone now that his has its speakerphone enabled. im working on putting most of my pics and music on the phone itself to extend the battery life. if i use the mp3 player, my battery is toast.

seems like an softrware upgrade could fix it easily. thing is, alot of verizon "upgrades" tend to lock down cool features. so found out first what a firmware update will change on your phone.

BITPIM, BITPIM, BITPIM!!! get a data cable and put any noise, sound, music, etc. on your phone as a ringtone. it can be wma or mp3, it doesn't matter. you don't have to compress your files either so they sound better.

its possible, you have to use bitpim, or send yourself sounds through pix messages. you can't do it directly with the phone(yet :wink: )

not to be an ass, but who listens to music that way. i'll admit its a nice feature to have but i listen to my music through headphones. other people get annoyed if your phone is making noise while theyre doing ****. i don't care if i piss people off, but most others do.

yes, i agree. ive had a v710 for the last 2 years, and im having trouble finding a NEW phone that can do what my current phone does. with the lack of newer and better hardware, plus the disabling of cool features, i might have to wait ANOTHER 2 YEARS to get a phone 8O

yep, its been that way for sometime. verizon doesn't want you making your own ringtones, they want you to buy them. seem edits(check howardforums.com) will fix this.

they are just enabling everything that verizon disabled. last i checked, they had mp3's working(along with the default wma's), custom ringtones(using sounds from the memory card), bluetooth transfers with mpt, the motorola ui activated..etc. :) they were working on obex also. we'll see how it turns out.
