Same problem as who? I never said that I have this problem. All I do is slide open the lens cover and push the * key to switch flash settings, which are: Auto, Red-eye, and OFF

Flash can be disabled. Shutter sound is just like the K750 where it depends on the region of the firmware if it can be set to silent. K790a can't, some K790i's can and some can't.

Re: Where is the Video Calling?
Sep 10, 2006, 3:08 AM
in the Sony Ericsson K790 / K800 forum

It doesn't have it cause US carriers don't support video calling yet. Even if you got the K800i, it won't work when we get UTMS cause we'll be on 1900 UTMS and not 2100. What "other" features is it missing?

The reception is excellent. I can't compare to the w810i, but since it is also 850MHz and 1900MHz, I'm sure they are very close.

Re: Buying Unlocked Phones

in the Sony Ericsson K790 / K800 forum

Here's what you should do: Buy the phone unlocked from a reputable store. Try not to use ebay because if you need to return the phone for a defect it will be a long process since you will have to go through SE. Next, figure out the highest value "free" phone that Cingular offers. Sign up. Sell the free phone on Craigslist.com Sonystyle stores will be the last to get the newest mobile phones. It's not too high on their priority list, from ...

If the walkman feature is more important, then get a W810i or wait for the W850i. If the camera is more important, then get the K790. All of these are significant upgrades to your phone, but it comes down to what's worth it to you.

Re: It is hard for me to want this the k790/k800
Sep 5, 2006, 10:30 AM
in the Sony Ericsson K790 / K800 forum

The 3G aspect of the K800i only works on 2100 UTMS and the US 3G will be on 1900. So you won't be able to utilize that aspect of the phone here.

Re: Will K800 work with TMobile USA?
Sep 3, 2006, 11:13 PM
in the Sony Ericsson K790 / K800 forum

T-Mobile only roams on 850 band. So unless you are in the boonies a lot then this shouldn't be a deciding factor for you. (check the coverage maps to be sure) If you use the phone to get online, then you should not get the K800i and get either the K790i or K790a as both of these use EDGE high speed data transfer (which Tmo uses).

Re: playing MP3 from phone through car stereo
Aug 29, 2006, 3:30 AM
in the Samsung SGH-T809 / SGH-D820 forum

It should play just fine through your car stereo. The adapter that you need depends on your car stereo. I'm thinkin you either need one with rca jacks or one with 3.5mm jack. The answer to your other question depends on the average size of your mp3's and how much space you have left on your phone...do the math

They are wrong. This phone can support 1gb. It works fine for me and I have heard of many others using it just fine. You are the second that I've heard that 2gb doesn't work for. Weird that it can't handle it.

If the phone doesn't even see the file is there, then you have to make the file name shorter. For some reason long file names cause this. If you phone can't play the file, then you are not formatting properly. The only files that the phone can read are 3gp and mp4, of which the latter is better quality.

Go to phone settings > usb > set to "mass storage" Then you transfer using the usb cable, and copy and paste your files into the card. Another faster way would be to take the card out and use a card reader.

1. Allows the phone to be used by any carrier that supports the same frequencies that the phone does. 2. From what I've read, in north america, it isn't important. On the other hand, some places like freemycell.com can flash without corrupting your imei, so you might as well save it if you can...just in case  3. Use a USB Flash cable or a serial flash cable and proper software. 4. Yes 5. Lots...like use picsel document viewer, mp3 ringtones, ...

It ships in 1-2 weeks. Let's hope this phone is finally gettin released! $479 is steep, but I'm not suprised since it was just released. I'm thinkin in the next 2-3 weeks the price will drop to around $400 and stablize just like the K790i

Unfortunately not. I've heard that if you flash your phone to the D820 the ascending is not as bad cause it's a lot quicker.

I would think that there would be a "games" folder or "other" folder that should work? Try different folders that are there or maybe create one on the memory card. Which way are you trying to transfer? to the phone memory with the phone set to modem using PC Suite... or memory card using the phone set as mass storage?

1. Once the vid is playing, press the 1 key 2. The volume up/dn will zoom in on pics. I've found that it only works on pics taken with the camera though, not downloaded ones. 3. I would think that you could just copy and paste them into the folder? I haven't tried this since the T809 doesn't support apps.

I have some stand up comedy on mine. The largest is 151385 kb (151 mb). You file is probably twice the size of mine or even more. My files were originally avi and I converted to mp4 Two things that might help: -Split your movie into 3 or 4 parts -Downsize the video biterate and the audio biterate If those don't change anything then try converting something else cause there's something about this file that your phone doesn't like. Good Luck!

Giving you what I have on my memory card isn't going to help you figure out what you are doing wrong. Also, you need to be way more descriptive in what you are doing for anyone to be able to help you out.

When using the PC Suite you must first set your phone to modem for the computer to recognize the phone. This puts files into the phone memory. (phone settings -> USB settings) To put files directly into the memorycard, you must set your phone to mass storage. Then you can connect your phone and use it as a storage device without having to use the PC Suite.

It can vibe and ring, just not at the same time. It vibes 3 times then rings just like the T809. I'm pretty sure that's what you were asking anyways. I haven't seen anyone who likes the vibe then ring. This is such a poor feature. From what most are saying, the D820 still ascends the ringtones but not nearly as bad. It starts low but gets to normal loudness real quick, so it's not such ...

At least once you get this figured out, you are going to be a pro! One thing I noticed is that you are converting to 3gp format. The phone can play this obviously, but mp4 format is much better (which is what my settings are for). Are you using my settings with the 3gp format? That might not work because 3gp will require lower settings because it is lower quality.

That's strange. Maybe you are using the trial version of the ImToo3gp and it won't let you convert large files? Try to check that you aren't using a trial version of the software. Other than that, I'm not sure what you're doing wrong?
