Re: VZW TP2 WM 6.5 seems to be out

After researching a bit online, I decided to upgrade my TP2 to 6.5. Flashed it twice. No issues and I like the GUI tweaks they've done. My biggest concern with the upgrade was regarding comments about battery life. Well, I'm experiencing the same issue when I have bluetooth turned on. With light usage, my battery is dead after about 5 hours. When I turn bluetooth off, I'm getting 24+ hours with light usage, which was ...

I thought this was the case too. Went to VZW store all pissed off and then the tech showed me how the standard mini USB port plugs in just fine. HTC specific accessories may have the squared off end so you can only use on HTC phones.

Yes it sure does at least when I'm using the Touch Flo interface. Didn't test with standard WM6.1 screen.

I have the same problem with threaded text messages. If I have multiple texts from the same person, for some reason I have to open the thread multiple times to clear the new text message indicator in Touch Flo. I haven't had the problem with the phone unlocking when received email/text, however I did notice that if you slide open the keyboard while the phone is locked, it unlocks the phone. Possible while in your pocket it gets ...

Yes. When you install an application, you're prompted to install on device or memory card (if installed).

I have an ipod touch and love it for music. I considered the iphone, however too happy with VZW service and wanted a physical keyboard. You can text using the virtual keyboard - don't need to slide open the physical keyboard. I haven't used the browser much. The times I have, it seemed to work well. I think I do prefer the iphone 'pinch' zoom capability. Overall, the GUI isn't as refined as the iphone ...

First impressions....

I ordered my TP2 from VZW phone sales and received it on 9/15. I've been a long time Windows Mobile user, having had the Q, Q9m and Q9c. My Q9c has been an excellent phone for me, however I've had problems with dust under the screen lately. My 2yr renewal was up and I wanted a phone that offered more features and bigger screen, so TP2 fit perfectly. As you may have read from others, I was ...

Q9c with WM 6.1

in the Motorola Q9m / Q9c forum

A couple weeks ago, I replaced my Q9m with a Q9c. May not make sense to some, however the main reason for changing was the color. I couldn't stand the red case and the red numerical buttons were more difficult to see. The Q9c works perfect. I tend to lean towards Windows Mobile devices due to their tight integration with Outlook/Exchange. For some reason, the Q9c battery seems to last a lot longer. ...

Q to Q9m.....what's all the fuss!

in the Motorola Q9m / Q9c forum

I've had my original Q since August 2006. When I first bought it, I did the registry tweaks from quser/howardsforum, added a few cool themes and been very happy over the past year, except for battery life. Turning off "accept incoming beams" and adjusting display timeout, etc helped and I used to get about 3 days out of the standard battery. It was extremely rare for me to experience any crashes or have to reboot as ...

Re: Hotmail...can it be set up to push the emails?

I use Windows Live Mobile to get alerted when I receive Hotmail messages. You can choose all emails, emails from all your contacts or emails from specific email addresses. When you recieve an email that meets your criteria, it sends you a brief text message with the first sentence or two. You can use text messaging and reply to the message with "m" and it will send you another few sentences and so on. I also ...

Fixed my battery issue....

Not sure if this has been posted already....did a search and didn't see it. I've had my Q for about a week and as others have complained, I couldn't even get 12+ hours out of it. With minimal calls, a little surfing and by night, battery warning was going off. I read on another site about a possible fix. For some reason, my phone came out of the box with "Accept Incoming Beams" turned on. This is for ...

The software - menu structure, customizable options, etc. are all different on the VZW version.

Oh, I wish the Verizon version was able to do that. Can't lock individual apps. Also, under Contacts, Options, the VZW doesn't have any options to change the way you view contact list - you can either Call, Send Txt Message, Send Pix Message or Erase. I wish VZW would let the manufacturer control the software, which is one of their core competencies. Verizon is in business to provide a service. They're not a software company.....

The problem with you opinion is that this phone doesn't do everything well. If the phone turns out to be a huge success, it will be predominantly due to its style. Many buyers want exclusivity, which this phone has. I do agree that buyers need to live with the phone for the full 15 days before making a decision. I was tempted to take it back immediately, however decided to keep it and see how ...

RAZR V3c Opinions from V710 User
Dec 12, 2005, 1:02 AM
in the Motorola RAZR V3c forum

I picked up the RAZR on 12/8, after living with my V710 since 7/31/04. I typically like to get have the latest tech and also use a Samsung i730 and BB 7250 (work). Pros of V3c over V710: 1) Size/weight 2) Battery life using Bluetooth (seems quite a bit longer than with my V710) 3) Camera quality! 4) Charger connection (now std USB connector like my Blackberry, so can use same charger) 5) Sound quality and reception ...
