Re: Live Wallpapers
I have this handset, running CM7, and it supports Live Wallpapers just fine.
Re: That is one ugly phone!
Ever think that you shouldn't judge a phone on it's appearance? This might be a good phone, but you all apparently won't even give it a shot because it's an eyesore. It's not the look that makes a good phone, that's what sells it. A good phone is made by actually working the way it should and with good performance. An ugly phone will still sell to intelligent buyers if it out performs anything in the same price range.
Re: Custom Image & Ringtone Tutorial
Just follow the instructions provided by you FTP host.
Re: web site
Now that is a bit odd. It should be working just fine. I've been using this method for a month and it does work. The only thing I can think of is that TracFone's gotten wise to this and locked down the access systems on thier end.
Re: web site
Ok, because I'm not sure just how this is messing up. Though I do have a working theory. The example URL I'm posting here is for an image I use as wallpaper on my phone. You should be getting a B/W GIF that features a full d20 gaming dice kit.

Re: web site
It has to be a pure FTP site. Anything like Geocities or Angelfire will do the trick.
Re: Custom Image & Ringtone Tutorial
No, it doesn't work for games. The phone doesn't even have Java, so what's the point?
Custom Image & Ringtone Tutorial
For this to work, you're gonna need a few tools.
Audacity [ http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/]
G IMP [ http://www.gimp.org/windows/ ]
A FTP web host
For Images:
1. Pick the source image that you want to apply for your custom wallpaper or screensaver.
2. Crop and resize the image to 128 by 160 pixels (This may be the native display resolution of the phone, but the browser ganks it a bit.)
3. Save the image as either a JPEG or a GIF.
4. Upload the image to your FTP server, ...
Re: Rip off.
I think I'll just put it up today. I've been up all night gaming and I don't have anything better to do.
Re: W370 Battery life?
I've noticed the same thing, however at where I work I have signal issues. I pretty much work in a Faraday Cage, so my signal cuts out constantly while working.
Re: Rip off.
Actually, there is a way to get your own custom stuff loaded into the phone. I've been doing it for the past month to perfect the process. Sometime this week, if I remember it, I will post a full tutorial on how to load custom ringtones and graphics onto the handset.
Re: Would I...
No, you would end up with an Invalid SIM message. Also, you may want to not post here from your phone. Your post is almost unreadable.
Re: are there USB drivers available??
It can't. Tracfone locked that feature down apparently.
Re: Great flip phone for the price!
Nope. But if you've got skill and masking tape to can spray paint it to whatever you want.
Re: Question about W370
It doesn't have removable covers. As for branding, there's only one Tracfone logo affixed to the battery cover than can be removed.
Re: Just ordered one
Yeah, there's about 1 MB of storage and even the real music tones don't push 100kb.
Re: Question about W370
You can either use TracFone's site or the phone's built in browser, but the site's cheaper. And dispite my annoyances with OS lag, I would recommened this phone.
Re: Question about W370
Texting is .3 incoming and outgoing. 1 minute of internet access is .5 units. Wallpapers are 5.97 units plus access charges. Polytones are 6.97 and real tones are 8.97, plus access.
