Corded headsets

I just upgraded to the Centro and my old 2.5mm headset won't work in the Centro. Does it require a special headset or a special plug?

I recently received an advert for this phone and it said that you must have the everything plan to purchase this phone. Is that true?

I know you can transfer the files via the transflash card but I cant help you with the length since I keep my transflash full with MP3s.

yes, been there several times. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. They have reset my profile a few times but that doesn't fix it. I believe its a network issue on Sprint's end.

Really?? Better reception?

Funny you should say that. I actually bought the a920 and it does so many things better than my old Sanyo except one... reception. Roads that I used to travel now have dead spots where there were none before. However, the a920 is a great phone when you have a signal of course if I break down in some of those dead spots I'll be cursing the thing out.

I think you'll like it. I was on some back roads last night where my old sanyo would work... this thing wouldnt. However, thats only one data point... but I really think my Sanyo had better reception but this phone does so many other things better that its worth it (unless Im broken down in one of those dead spots and then Ill be cursing this thing)

I've only had that happen once and I was on a back road where I can hold a signal but its really weak to start. Not knowing how these phones are designed I wonder: 1) is the screen reallying showing me the true signal? 2) is the sensitivity on this phone really any different than the other phone? 3) is the internal antenna vs the external antenna the difference? But for me the bottom line was that everyone said that I sound clear.

Ive had this phone for 2 weeks now and it replaced my Sanyo 8100. The Sanyo had the best reception of any phone Ive ever had. This is almost as good. One thing that Ive noticed is that when I'm not talking on the phone the bars are a bit low but when I start using it they kick up to full bars so I don't know if this is a battery saving feature or just something weird to ...

I've seen that as well but it doesn't bother me. There is a caller ID setting under incoming calls but I haven't played with that yet.

Well to put an end to this thread.... I finally changed phones (a Samsung A920) and I did it all over the phone. Sprint waived the fees, gave me an extra discount on the service and an extra discount on the phone and I was a happy customer again. THE END

I just activated my A920 last night and a few times while I was playing with it the phone would find service then it couldnt..flashing back and forth for about a minute. It was weird. Meanwhile, my trusty Sanyo 8100 was sitting there with full service. Could this be a result of just activating the phone??? OR perhaps I was playing with features and something affected the signal?

Ive been waiting for a Sanyo with bluetooth but I couldnt wait any longer so I went for a Samsung A920. I hope its as good as my old Sanyo 8100... I had 2 samsungs before that and they were horrible compared to the Sanyo. I agree that if Sanyo put out a basic phone with bluetooth they would rule!

I'm torn between the 900 and the 920. I only use the phone for a phone and reading email when I'm away from a computer (yahoo web based). I want a flip phone with bluetooth so its down to these two. Any suggestions?

Im pretty happy if I can get 3 hours of talk time out my phone but if they are watching TV, listening to MP3s, surfing the web and it dies within the day..then thats ok by me. But if cant get through the day... then it could be a problem.

Is a day 24 hours of use? 24 hours of standby? An 8 hour business day of use? 8 hours of standby? Is that "use" just talking? standby? standby with the EVDO going?? etc.

Does anyone know if Sprint will produce a basic phone with Bluetooth? I think there is a need for those of us who use the phone more as a phone and less for multimedia and would like Bluetooth for the car. I heard the A920 by samsung might have this???

You work? I thought you just surfed phonescoop all day? And if you want to stay in business, the customer is always right. I'll be writing to the CEO of sprint as will other people who object to this fee. With enough complaints they will pull that fee. One of the partners in my firm just cancelled his sprint phone. I guess he ran into an employee like you. Good thing as attorneys we can afford other carriers.

Cingluar is my other option if I dont go back to sprint. Cingular as well as Sprint gives you the option of starting your night minutes at 7 pm. I'll write the CEO of sprint objecting to the policy. That should get an response.
