What does that have to do with anything at all? The word gay originally referred to something being colorful. Its origin has nothing to do with its usage, in this context. Also, ghetto did not refer to "Jews before it became what it is in the USA," just the area in which they lived; it began as a noun and evolved into an adjective. Also, the way the word has been used in this context is not as racist as ...

in the Article: AT&T's Video Share Service Goes Live forum

I mean, in the rest of the world they've launched video calling and it hasn't caught on too well. In Europe, most people are at least willing to spend some substantial money on phone, at least relative to the average American consumer. This being the case, if carriers are so worried about such a failure, why make it so expensive. I don't think the price is crazy, but if I already have an unlimited data plan, why not give ...

Also, I am still on the fence about getting the phone, I peg you all as the type to have many phone, do you find it to be a big problem swapping between phones? "Update: Verizon Wireless has finished upgrading its entire network to EV-DO Revision A. Rev. A will permit download speeds of 600 kbps to 1.4 mbps and upload speeds of 500-800 kbps." It that not hilarious? Verizon makes a much more consequential upgrade than AT&T and it's just brushed to the side. Today is iDay, and, not that I am an iPhone enthusiast--rather, I'm relatively indifferent--,the only way another company is getting business is if the others give customers a hooker ...

Holy Mother of God, STFU!
Jun 26, 2007, 12:43 AM

I am *relatively* indifferent towards the iPhone (especially relative to a lot of the crazies posting on this site). Many people knock it saying, "the XXX 3000 can blow the iPhone out of the water because it has a 20Mp camera, GPS, a garlic pickler, and converts into a society friendly SUV." -->No one ever said this is the best phone ever created. In fact, Steve Jobs and his goons called it the "Best iPod Ever." For one, he ...

(1) People complain that Cingular needs to finish rolling out 3G before adding "a novel feature"--Firstly, Cingular is continuing to roll out the network. What the hell do you expect them to do, not launch a new feature until you get your 3G coverage? The purpose of a business is to make money: many things to make people go "ohhh" = an opportunity for money to be made. Also, some places are more important than others, thus not a ...

No, it wasn't. I am not sure as to how accurate it was, but dumb it was not. You're just being hypercritical and pedantic. The statement makes some sense to the average person: the phone has is weighted, like a loaded dice, for it to primarily fall on one end which, I guess, would be the most shock absorbent. Re: V3xx vs. Sync
Jan 28, 2007, 9:16 PM
in the Motorola RAZR V3xx forum

I had the same dilemma. I decided to get the v3xx. Yes, the Sync does have the better camera--well, at least it's 2MP are greater than the v3xx's 1.3--and external MP3 controls, but Cingular's Samsung phones have a standardized UI....I'm not for that, I've used the d807 and I don't like the UI. Also, to me, the RAZR is a better looking phone and it has HSPDA capable of reaching 3.6 MB/s (I know that's theoretical).

in the Article: Cingular Launches First 3.6 Mbps HSDPA Handset forum

Actually it is a great idea. Cingular is trying to appeal to the masses. The RAZR is a form factor of mass appeal and most Americans do not travel outside the US so often that the extra band is crucial in their purchasing decision. By excluding the the 900 band--and other v3xx goodies--Cingular lowered the price of the phone so it could have a very-affordable price thus more people buy the 3g phone and take advantage of Cingular Video, ...

Re: No quad band

The phone is a triband phone, in terms of its GSM frequencies; it operates on GSM bands 850/1800/1900. However, it also operates no HSPDA 850/1900. In essence, it operates on five-bands GSM 850/1800/1900 and WCDMA (HSPDA) 850/1900.

I get it, in fact, everyone gets it. Motorola has found something profitable so they milk it, apparently, the yank of this udder still produces. What does that mean for us, the people who are tired of it? Live with it. There are many other phones, throw money at them. Everyone is buying a RAZR. The most obvious reason being the beauty. However it is very important to note that RAZRs are ubiquitous; people have faith in what they know, if everyone has one they assume they're good--much to their chagrin, of course.

The e62 was launched as a way to provide a phone with PDA capabilities with low budgets--noticed that it also used a mini USB port rather than the Nokia proprietary one or the 262k color screen on the e62 and the 16.7million color screen on the e61? Although I do not see why they didn't launch both to appeal to people like us (e61)--phonescoop's constituency-- and others (e62). It's akin to the l7 vs. l6 but they did what ...

Urgh....I'll do this reply quickly. (1) Your pros and cons have nothing to do with your original grievances. (2) "I'm wondering if HTC actually had employees log in to give their opinion." --> Logically Fallacy- You are greatly overestimating your importance. Yes, I know I sound like a n00b but UMA just sounds like it pwns. Also, am I the only person stunned by the domestic dual bands on this phone? For such a cool sounding phone--midrange in Europe, well okay, akin to the firefly--I would've expected it to be quadband. BTW not a n00b xD

Of course, aesthetics are important, which, to me, the n75 is lacking, although not an ugly phone; it is plain--very plain. Also, I hate it when cameras are mounted on backs of phones; one must hold the phone in a very arkward manner when taking pics with the flip open--like normal camera phones--screwing up many "priceless" pics that would've captured on the 2MP camera. However, it will allow the user to take pictures like a regular camera when flip ...

Windows Media Player Mobile only plays windows video files (.wmv)and .3gp (the video files you record with the phone's camera) with manufacturer settings. If you want to play a myriad of video files I suggest you download TCPMP CORE Media player, a free program, available at downloads.com I believe.

in the HTC Dash / S620 / S621 (Excalibur) forum

As I said before this phone rocks specs wise however it would seem to have an abomindably slow response time. I have a Cingular 8125 with the same processor but LOADS more memory and it lags when I have a multitabbed browser open (OPERA). With 23MB of memory and such a slow processor albeit a "more efficient" WM OS I can't imagine it being very functional for multitasking, or checking email with Windows Media Player in the background.

Why the heck do they always get the good phones. They are all wasted on Verizon; they get raped of features and have the same OS. Why couldn't Cingular get this one?? HeIl if they get the CDMA version of a GSM phone, couldn't Cingular at least get a variant of the V3x to have the 850 band.....ba$tards!
