Is sero worth it anymore?
Jun 23, 2017, 11:53 PM

So I'm spending around $60 a month for unlimited data with sprint but it seems like metro offers me the same for less. I suppose I could switch to the new sero but is it really worth it? Thanks all.

Absolutely nothing. PCD mainly facilitates "middle-man" operations (distribution, engineering and warranty service). PCD doesn't set prices for phones or develop them, they just handle life-cycle issues with phones once the phone is designed by the manufacturer and agreed to be bought by the carrier.

I think it's an issue with a sales person who doesn't properly qualify a customers' needs. If the guy is coming in for a basic phone and you sell him a brand new Droid, you're doing everyone a disservice, including the customer.

My point exactly. By the way, the constitution doesn't say one word of privacy, it says that the government can't search or seize property without consent or a court order. Meanwhile, thanks to the USAPATRIOTACT it all but got rid of that pesky amendment....

I worked for Best Buy for about 6 months as part of the Geek Squad and hated working there. I would recommend against working there because you don't make comission. Unless you're happy with earning 7 bucks an hour and that's it, you'd be better off working at an independant agent and making commission.

Yes, I'm cheap, I already said I was and I also understand that the new SERO plan is discounted. Fine, you made your point but that still isn't going to make me stop asking my question. If anyone has some helpful input besides "stop being cheap and just get the plan", I'd like to hear your input to everyone else, thanks, but you're wasting your time here. Correct, $50 a month isn't double of $30 a month, but $50 a month plus a $10 a month premium data charge is, as stated in my previous post. I'm not greedy, I'm broke. If I was making oddles of money, maybe it wouldn't be an issue but I don't, so I can't afford $60 a month+ taxes and fees for a phone.

I could get the new SERO plan but it would be double the price I'm paying because they require another $10 per month for the premium data charge for android (and soon all smart) phones.

I got the $30/500 minute SERO plan and want to get the new Evo Shift but the best that retentions could offer me is a $150 credit on top of the normal discount for a phone but I'd have to get a consumer plan. in the Article: Best Buy Offers Buyer's Remorse Protection with 'Buy Back' forum

You didn't read it corectly. The money you get back is a percent of the purchase price, not the retail value. Lets say that the Buyback costs $50, and you get an Evo, You'd get 50% of $200 between 1 and 6 months, so you're paying Best Buy $150 to "rent" a Evo for up to 6 months. It's a horrible deal. Seriously, re-read the story, they say of the purchase price.

SOMEONE understands the question properly!

in the Shop Talk forum

Yes, that's what I was asking. I assumed you people understood, but I guess not. Kinda sucks that you'd lose a ton of rollover if you switched to unlimited, then switched back because it wasn't for you. Is there a way to get the minutes back? Like if you switched plans for a few hours then had "buyers remourse" over the switch.

Re: Sprint Employee plan after quit?

Way I understand it when I was speaking to some reps is that if you leave Sprint, they offer you the option of switching to a SERO line, you're not going to get to keep your free phone. Then again, if a manager fails to tell HR to pull the plug, you might be able to get away with it. It depends on the terms you leave.

Question about rollover minutes
Dec 1, 2010, 9:37 AM
in the Shop Talk forum

Alright, lets say someone has 5000 rollover minutes with AT&T and they switch to an unlimited plan, what happens to the rollover minutes? Do they get lost? I know if you downgrade your plan, you cn only keep a maximum amount of minutes that your plan has per months (such as if you have 5K rollover minutes, and you go to a 400 minute plan, you'll then lose 4500 minutes). Anyone got any info?

Closest I've seen is with Verizon where they require a 1K deposit. Usually at that point I'd sell 'em on Sprint, where they would get a $150 deposit. It's not saying no, but it's making it very fincially unpractical go to with Verizon.

Bro, if you seriously think Sprint is losing money on their plans, then you need to go back to school. Buisness 101. If you sell a product for less then you buy it for, you're going out of buisness pretty quickly. You honestly think that Sprint getting every subscriber for between $50 and $100 between voice and data are losing money? Sure, if you believe that, I got a bridge I wanna sell ya....

Transfer of liability with SERO

I tried to do a transfer of liability to someone else for one of my SERO lines. Would never happen. The whole point of stealing someones idenentiy is so you can make money off it directly or indirectly. The only exemption is someone trying to hide from their past life, but I don't think they'll be that careful, just stay clean enough to stay out of jail, and that's about it. Good question tho.

It's the same way with your car. If you buy a new car, you have to pay sales tax on it, then you have to pay a registration fee. Ever wonder why you need to "renew" your registration every year or 2? +1 Everyone thinks they have job security untill they get fired. Unless you live ina "right to work state", they could come up to you and fire you for any reason, or no reason. Trust me when I say, they don't care about you. Bail out man. If the numbers work out for you, do it. Plus, if you get fired from the other job, Obama just extended unemployment benifits, so you're set either way! :D
