What happened to truth in advertising?
This doesn't just go for Tmo, all of the carriers that are calling their networks 4G when they're technically, not yet at least. Sprint, Verizon and At&t all eventually will get there when they get to the next evolution of LTE and Wimax.
upgrading to Droid
Im upgrading soon from the BB Curve to the Droid w/ my NE2 and was wondering if someone could help me w/ the difference between the 2 data options. What data restrictions are there on the lower priced option?

Technically speaking, Sprint has the largest mobile community IF you get their 69.99 anything plan but thats only if you get that plan. As a VZW subscriber, I am excited to get my hands on some nice Android devices.

I may be mistaken, but i believe that part of the issue has to do w/ cdma support w/in the Android OS itself. That is being changed of course very soon w/ the Hero being released on Sprint. I think that VZW will have one on the market before the holiday season. At least I am hoping for a nice new touch screen phone for the network before January when I get my upgrade.

I'm on VZW and this thing looks really sweet. I hope they make a CDMA version for Big Red. LG and VZW have worked together on "Chocolate" devices before, really hope this makes a VZW appearance before my new every 2.

I am not a VZW fanboy, I get a discount through work w/ them and actually switched to them about a year ago. I still like the Pre better
This is a huge step forward for iPhone in becoming an actual, modern day cell phone and not just a MID w/ cell capabilities. I am excited for the Palm Pre and hope that they bring it to Verizon for my upgrade w/in a yr or 2.

I want to exchange my Glyde for the Pearl as I'm w/in my first 30 days and am getting tired of this non responsive touch screen. Was wondering if VZW locks out 3rd party apps being installed on this. I would hate to have a smartphone like this and not be able to fully utilize it bc the carrier locked those features out.

I just switched to VZW w/ the Glyde and its a pretty nice phone but the screen is just not responsive enough will it get any better w/ software update? Anyone hear if there will be one soon? If not some suggestions for a crackberry. Like the Curve but the Pearl is nice too.

This is a good year to have my contract end with Suckular. Going back to T-Mobile. Hope the 3G data plans will be priced competitively like their voice plans.

Wow this phone is hot. Too bad we will never see it here in the states, unless they make a special version just for cingular to accomodate 850 band. I suppose you could pick one up for t-mobile but then you couldn't use all of its awesome 3G goodness.

Helio Launch already
The wait is almost as bad as waiting for the Revolution. I want to get the Kickflip, although I might wait to see what they got going at the end of the year. Hopefully a phone with BT.

Ya i saw that. I really like the UI. Very easy to use. I wish those initial launch phones came with BT, but maybe in later phones. I wish they would have launched at this event.

Does anyone know if Helio will be announcing anything new about the carrier or if they are even at the show? I checked the CTIA website but could not see them as presenting or even attending, not Helio, not SK Telecom, and not Earthlink.

ya. I called cingular and were no help. I had a girl talk to me and she had not a clue of what i was talking about. I wish she wasn't a moron and gave me some good advice b/c i cannot for the life of me figure this one out.

god that is messed up. That was one of the problems that i wanted to get away from w/ verizon. Sure you can try to be yourself or whatever w/ a tone, but it'll cost you a good 2.50 to get a good music tone. Why can't these wireless companies just let us use these phones to their full extent. JESUS H CHRIST!
