No flex glass?

I guess this phone doesn't get the fabled flexible screen. What do they mean by "global roaming"? Don't need a SIM card if we take the Verizon version to Europe?

Noticed my coworker's Droid 4 did an update to Jellybean. Lucky for you! Droid 3 gets no love

US vs International regarding cores.
Jun 14, 2012, 6:19 PM
in the Samsung Galaxy S III (Verizon) forum

US version is only dual core, but the international is quad core? US has smaller battery too. I wonder why the difference. I'm happy to see it's a world phone!

Good to hear it's keeping the global capability.

There's going to be a Bionic Global?? And here I was perfectly happy with the Droid 3. Bionic Global would definitely have it all then!

Global, which is what I want. D3 or Incredible 2
Jul 15, 2011, 11:08 AM
in the Motorola Droid 3 forum

I was almost set on the Droid Incredible 2 which seems like a great phone, but once I realized the D3 was global plus dual processor and HDMI out, I think I'm hooked. My original Droid contract ends next week, I don't need LTE and the D3 seems like a perfect upgrade. I didn't really need the keyboard, but you never know. One other thing... seems the Droid 3 has some accessories the others don't have. A car dock ...

Incredible doesn't seem to be enough for me to switch from my Moto Droid. I love my Droid.

Re: Battery issue
Nov 20, 2009, 8:13 AM
in the Motorola Droid forum

Same thing happened to me. I just got the Droid yesterday, charged it up, played around with it till the battery was at 1/4 (no warning either). Turned it off overnight and then in the morning it was totally drained. I had to plug it in to my PC for about 15 min before it called out "DROID"! I thought it was broken! What it should do is... show some sign of life when powering it on. ...

Re: Data Plan
Dec 2, 2008, 6:39 AM
in the Samsung Omnia i910 forum

I have a pda, and I do not pay for the data plan. I don't want to pay another $45/mo when I can use WiFi. Besides..... the web browsing is awful and the experience is tedious. Why should I pay for a plan that just frustrates me on top of it?

Re: Switching to regular plan from Data?
May 2, 2008, 8:36 AM
in the Samsung SCH-i760 forum

I don't pay for the $45 data plan from Verizon. Way to expensive. I use Wifi anyway and I'm usually near a computer. I can plug the phone to a computer using a data/charging cable that I bought, and as it's connected, the phone will browse the internet via my PC's connection.

Re: I cant receive mms messages?
Mar 18, 2008, 1:46 PM
in the Samsung SCH-i760 forum

I can't get MMS because I had Verizon block my data. I didn't want to accidentaly hop on the data by mistake and find a huge bill! I use wifi anyway. Anyway, if the data plan gets blocked, they also block MMS for those that don't know. I also don't txt.

Re: upgrade questions
Mar 18, 2008, 1:41 PM
in the Samsung SCH-i760 forum

If using your own WiFi wireless router, then the i760 will utilize that instead of the Verizon network. What I did, I don't have the data plan cause I don't want to pay the $45/mo and I'm usually near a computer or wifi anyway. So the phone shows a list of wifi networks and you hop on. It also will conveniently auto connect to same networks if you tell it to always connect. At work, ...

That's how I did it too. I wonder why you can't just select if off of the miniSD card? Bummer. Now I have two copies of the song(s).

Re: Info on addon software like iPhone
Jan 25, 2008, 7:07 AM
in the Samsung SCH-i760 forum

I did get the phone and it's great! Very complicated for the casual user, but full of possibilities and fully loaded (has a steep learning curve for new pda users like me). I got the S2U2 program and it does make the locking feature look like the iPhone. Has nice wallpapers too. It's more of a wow feature in a way, but alot more cusomizable than the built in locking feature of the phone. I'll load ...

in the Article: Opera Creates Mini Browser for BREW Phones forum

I went to Opera's site operamini.com from my LG VX8100's verizon browser and I tried to DL the mini that was on there. It correctly detected my phone, but said that my phone doesn't support Java. This means that the application is NOT the brew version. I bet you're right and VZW will put it on the Get It Now and charge. It figures.

Info on addon software like iPhone
Dec 3, 2007, 8:18 AM
in the Samsung SCH-i760 forum

I was a bit on the fence about this phone. It's just something about it. It does have everything you can imagine, but why haven't I rushed to buy it? I dunno, but some of those addons look real cool. Can someone provide some info/input as to the addon software that make the i760 look and act a bit like the iPhone? That is a very attractive thought and is one reason I'd get ...

Re: Error message - "Music Clips is Not Available" on new 8100
Mar 15, 2006, 6:52 PM
in the LG VX-8100 forum

I got that problem when I upgraded the software from v4 to v7. But both my music & video were getting that error. I got 2 replacements with the same problem. Finally, I went to the store & they gave me a third phone that finally worked. My tech was baffled as well.

I got a data USB cable and downloaded bitpim. That's all you need. Then follow the instructions. I'm new to this too.

iPod killer! Re: CAN SHUFFLE Re: Can you organize music?
Sep 28, 2005, 4:40 PM

Yes, I tried the folder trick too, but no dice. If they add a playlist on an update, then WOW, this phone would be an mp3/iPod killer!

Re: BitPim/Cable Please help
Sep 28, 2005, 4:33 PM
in the LG VX-8100 forum

I just got mine from ebay. It recharges while plugged in too! It has a sticker on it that states vx7000. But 7000 & 8000 cables work the same. Just make sure the end piece that plugs into the phone has two grooves (not three!). The end should look like the regular charger you currently use, in other words.

CAN SHUFFLE Re: Can you organize music?
Sep 28, 2005, 4:30 PM
in the LG VX-8100 forum

You can't do playlists. You can shuffle if hitting the right soft key to toggle the repeat, repeat all, & shuffle modes. It would have been awesome if it had playlists.

Sep 28, 2005, 4:23 PM

I just dl the newer version 7.37 and it seems to work good. Today is the first time I used bitpim anyway. I successfully added a midi ringtone, and an mp3 as a ringtone! I get an error trying to get data from the phone for the calandar. All others seem to work.

They are dopes. They told me mine had the latest update when I bought it at the store. But it didn't. I had to make another trip.

If you put mp3's in, then the outside buttons will work if you start the music. Close the lid, Mp3's will still play, showing a graphic equalizer, and then you can use em'. The buttons also do some other functions like end a call or answer. Of course, that's if you have a headset plugged in (or bluetooth) and the lid is closed.

I noticed the default on animation changed after the update. It now advertises Vcast rather than show you the city & lighthouse on the inside. The outside lcd does show the old animation still. I wonder if there is a way to get new animations. Anyone know?

I didn't like the feel of the 815 when I looked at it. The keypad was more comfortable and the menu was better on the LG. I love the mp3 on the LG! It has an equalizer built in and you can go from concert hall to rock to pop to jazz, etc. The graphic equalizer is cool to look at (from main lcd or external). I have a wired Jabra stearo headset and ...

Re: What order does the MY SOUNDS folder sort?
Sep 19, 2005, 3:28 PM
in the LG VX-8100 forum

Thanks for your help. I wasn't too specific, But I have some midi songs that I copied onto the miniSD and I wish there was a way to sort them by alpha. If I save them in a certain order, do you think the midi would go in the order I save them?

What order does the MY SOUNDS folder sort?
Sep 17, 2005, 4:55 PM
in the LG VX-8100 forum

It doesn't seem to sort in alphabetical order. The folder has a mind of it's own. Anyone know how sounds are arranged and how to manage it? I mean, sounds are there, just wondering if someone has figured out the logic of how it arranges. Thanks.

I was always wondering about that. If you purchase the game then get a new phone, then you lose the game, right? Too bad you can't transfer the game over or get it grandfathered in.

Re: Any problems with voice recognition?

I'm late on this, but if people are having voice recognition problems on bluetooth speakers, try "training" thru the bluetooth speaker rather than thru the phone itself.

I got the HS820 for my wife. Works very well. Just in case no one has seen it, it is a wireless speaker w/mic, not a headset. I clipped it on the visor and it's loud and clear. It's good for people who don't care about privacy in the car.

Sep 8, 2005, 5:34 AM
in the LG VX-8100 forum

For anyone interested, BMW does work with the 8100. I keep the phone in the pocket, start the car, and BAM, it's connected via Bluetooth. Can answer calls and dial numbers. I'm pretty amazed. Address book doesn't sync up still. I'll see what the V04 update will do afterwards.
