Hulu/Netflix coming to Gingerbread?
Has anyone heard anything about Hulu+ or Netflix coming to Gingerbread anytime soon? My purchase of an LG G-Slate is dependent on having those two apps.
Any updates?
Better WiFi compatibility?
I've had issues with several Android devices not working well with my current wireless router. Apps time out, won't connect at all, or move incredibly slowly. I didn't suspect my router until a recent experience I had in which I connected one of my Android devices to the wifi in a restaurant I was patronizing. Quite simply, the device just flew. It worked faster and better than I had ever seen it do before when connected to my wifi ...
Re: There are no positives. None. Whatsoever.
"Actually sir before you start spouting off stupid **** why dont you get your facts straight... oh wait you just have opinions..."
"First let me start by saying, my post is also "my" opinion"
So what are your posts: facts or opinion? Both of these comments were made by you. You ridicule others for posting their opinions, calling it "stupid ****", then immediately state your comments are only your opinion when put to task. I suggest you find one story and ...
Re: There are no positives. None. Whatsoever.
How do you figure the potential merger will create jobs? Bringing "qualified T-Mobile employees" over to AT&T isn't creating jobs. That's simply existing T-Mobile employees being retained after the merger. And I find it highly unlikely that AT&T will find a need to keep on all 40,000+ people currently employed by T-Mobile nationwide. While I concede that some positives may come of the merger, I'm finding it difficult to see how the potential pros outweight the potential cons.

Video converter
I'd like to watch movies on my Android device. Does anybody know of a DVD converter that will convert into a format that Android can play?
Thanks!
Transformers worthy video
Anybody know where to find movies as good of quality as the Transformers 1 & 2 that come on the device besides the Blockbuster app?
Any good converters out there?
Re: Blockbuster Movies.
Actually, the movies you get from the Blockbuster app aren't streaming. They are downloaded to the device. That's why you must be connected to WiFi in order to download them. If you purchase a movie, you can keep it. If you rent it, you have 24 hours from the first time you push play to watch the movie.
Re: Can it be upgraded to WinMo 7?
Officially, the HD2 will never support WinMo 7. WinMo7 is going to be designed to work with three hard buttons, the HD2 has five. That's straight from a Microsoft rep.
Unofficially, there are almost certainly going to be hacked versions that will probably work.
Re: Nokia Maps freezing up?
Hmm...you say that you downloaded Nokia Maps 2.0. Did you actually download it from Nokia's website or are you simply using the apps software that came on the phone out of the box? If I have to download it from the website, I'd gladly try that if it works.
T-Mobile settings?
I used the Wizard Setup and supposedly got the settings for T-Mo automatically configured to the phone. Yet I'm still having difficulties accessing the web consistently, as well as having internet provided to the GPS.
I set the default access point to "T-Zones" after "T-Mobile Internet" didn't work. But even T-Zones is providing inconsistent web access.
Anybody else having this problem? Has anyone come up with any solutions?
Any advice is very welcome and appreciated.
Thanks!
Nokia Maps freezing up?
I'm on my second device and I'm having difficulties getting the Nokia Maps to function properly. I have yet to get the device to find my location without freezing up the device.
Has anyone else had this problem? Any advice or solutions?
Re: Wow....so disappointed
Interesting. So does the software upgrade improve the plasticy feel of the click touchscreen? Does the software upgrade make the device feel like any less of a toy?
My guess is probably not.
It appears your two cents is worth even less.
Wow....so disappointed
I think I know the answer to this question already judging by the other posts in this forum, but am I the only person who tried this phone out and was completely disappointed with it? It feels like a Playskool toy. And the whole click touchscreen? Wow, so disappointed with that. I don't know if it was just the one I was trying, but the menu system was slow as hell. It would very literally take several seconds (sometimes ...
To anyone who actually OWNS the phone...
I've seen conflicting information on various websites regarding the video capabilities of this device. On here and Nokia's website, it says it maxes out at VGA 22 fps. On gsmarena and boygeniousreport, they both indicate that it maxes out at QVGA with 15 fps.
Now, it would seem to me that Nokia's website should be the most accurate, but I have come to trust gsmarena and boygeniousreport over the past year or two as they seem to be pretty ...
The way this is phrased...
it makes it seem as if every N Series phone comes standard with VoIP.
Has that always been the case? I thought only a couple of Nokia's phones had VoIP.
VoIP?
I can't remember which review it was that I read, but I seem to recall someone saying that this phone has VoIP in addition to WLAN.
Can anyone verify if this is correct?
8 GB microsd card?
Has anyone tried using an 8 gb card yet in the Curve? Has it worked?
Thanks!
Re: VoIP vs. UMA
I assume you can use the same phone number through VoIP, correct?
And just for the record, the only reason I ask that is because I know someone who uses Skype on his Sidekick and if I remember correctly, I thought he said he was given a different number than he normally used. I could be wrong about that, though.

What are the differences between these two types of wifi based calling technologies?

Youtube on a Blackberry?
Is this possible? If so, how?
Re: Router question
The short answer is no, you do not need to get a new router. I have the Curve and I also have Comcast. I have a different 3rd party router whose name I cannot think of right now, but I do use the Curve over that router and it works just fine.
The longer, T-Mobile corporate issued response would be that yes, they would recommend you purchase a router through them (it'll only run you $50 with a $50 mail ...
Blackberry use with corporate server question
I'd like to know what steps need to be taken in order to use my corporate outlook e-mail with my Blackberry. I think I have it narrowed down to one of two options, or possibly both.
1. As long as we have Blackberry Connect installed on the primary computer of our server, I think it can work.
or
2. Does having the corporate Blackberry feature offered by T-Mobile enable me to get corporate e-mail on my Blackberry?
thank you for any help you ...
Internet browser
Does anyone out there in phonescoop land know of any 3rd party browsers such as Safari or Opera that will expand the internet browsing capabilities of the Curve?
I'm trying to perform trades on tdameritrade.com and the regular browser on my curve simply won't let this happen. I've already tried switching the browser under configurations as well as enabling javascript.
I know the iPhone can perform this function and that device utitilizes Safari.
Thoughts?
Did you ever think...
that it isn't RIM who's not stopping Verizon from carrying particular devices, rather Verizon themselves?
How would it benefit Verizon to add a device to their lineup that offers unlimited high speed internet access through wifi points when they're trying to push their unlimited data packages over their EVDO network? (Same principle applies to AT&T Mobility and their 3G network. Ex. Nokia E62 instead of the E61 because the E61 had built in WiFi)
Plus, keep in mind that Verizon ...
Real Player/GPS capabilities
Does this phone utilize Real Player as its primary media player?
And does it have the capability of being synched with a GPS receiver as well as using Nokia Maps?
Thanks!
Re: totally off subject but...
If you're talking strictly Cingular, I'm sorry, but I can't help you.
I can tell you, however, that T-Mobile is strictly 1900 mhz. Now, it does have roaming agreements with some companies to use the 850 mhz frequency in some areas, but anytime you are using T-Mobile's actual towers, you are utitilizing 1900 mhz. The closest portrayal of a 1900 mhz coverage map would be T-Mobile's prepaid coverage map, although that does include SOME 850 mhz.
I've often wondered ...
A2DP Bluetooth profile
What are Bluetooth profiles considered: software? hardware? firmware?
Is it possible to add the Bluetooth profile of A2DP to a phone that does not have it?
Thank you for any clarification you are able to provide.
Yes, it is. April 23
For starters, I work for T-Mobile. And according to our company website, the 8800 is scheduled for release next Monday. That's the good news.
The bad news is that it was just announced yesterday that not all sales channels are getting it. It will not be available through retail. However, you will be able to get it through customer service and T-Mobile.com.
I'm a bit disappointed that the retail stores aren't getting it in. That probably means we won't ...
Couple of questions...
It seems like there're some pretty knowledgeable Nokia users on this forum, so I think this is a pretty good place to ask my questions. Some of my questions are in regard to the E61i, another is about some other new Nokias.
1. How many simultaneous Bluetooth connections can the E61i maintain?
2. If I'm using POP3 web-based e-mail accounts, how do I set the push e-mail with an unlocked E61i? (I will be using it on T-Mobile's network)
3. ...
UMA on 6086
Something that everyone seems to be overlooking is that the 6086 adds UMA. As far as I'm aware, T-Mobile is the only company currently in advanced stages of testing this new technology in the USA.
Chances of T-Mobile getting the 6086 in the next several months? Thoughts?
Cingular more likely
In the one picture of the Q9 and Q side by side, you can see the small Cingular logo on the top left soft key.
Re: Release date.... for T-Mobile!
From the main Streamline page, go over to the right side and click on the tab that says "News Search". Under Headline, type in the word "Upcoming" and click on the search button. Click on the top blue link. The date at the end should be 9/6. There ya go.
Re: Release date.... for T-Mobile!
According to Streamline, Sept 18th is the date that the HAC (hearing aid compatible) version of the 6133 will be available in some stores. The phone will be available in ALL retail locations Oct 9th.
Re: Release date.... for T-Mobile!
I work for T-Mobile. I was browsing through some files a couple weeks ago and saw some info on it, but I knew that it was only tentative. But when I came into work today, I saw that they finally announced it on Streamline, which is the internal news source for T-Mobile employees.
Release date.... for T-Mobile!
Yes, you heard me right. The Nokia 6133 is coming to T-Mobile on October 9.
Re: Why?????
Please, if you're going to put the a word in quotations, spell it properly.
It makes me think you are not "litterit" yourself.
Re: Why?????
Somehow I doubt that's the reasoning for naming this phone Chocolate. The GSM verison of this phone came out overseas last year. And while Hershey's is globally known, I do not believe that LG would name a phone after it.
And futhermore, have you actually held or seen this phone? I have. It's not the size of a Hershey's chocolate bar.
