anyone who work for AT+T know if you're getting the Nokia N79?

I have a nokia 6682. i love it. it's the greatest phone i've ever had, and the longest i've owned a phone for (got it in Jan of 2006)

I am still using my Nokia 6682, purchased through letstalk.com and running on cingular/at+t since Jan 2006.
I love this phone but I am starting to want a replacement but have yet to find anything worthy that I can get on a contract. Don't want to blow $600 on a phone.
I am hoping Nokia will release a nice new symbian smart phone for at+t soon. That would be nice.

actually, i think the stock headphones sound awful!!! get the nokia adapter and use some regular headphones from your ipod or sony or something. much better!! (just an annoying click that's heard when you get a call or turn off the player) - i usually liste to mp3s when in "offline" mode anyway.

it takes a RS-MMC (reduced size, dual voltage) - I use a 2 gig Kingston card, and it works perfectly.
Don't think they make a bigger size yet. Might not be likely as not too many devices use these RS-MMC's anymore - it seems a lot of the newer phones use SD and micro SD's.

i have that exact same card you purchased (also got mine @ newegg) for 2gb, and it works fine!
of course when it is loaded with mp3s it takes a little while to search them using realplayer or the S60 supplied mp3 player, but i use oggplay and that works perfectly.
i think either your memory card is/was a dud or you're not putting it in the right way. no other reason why a 2gb ...

If you choose "saved clips" then browse to their location (probably, like me, it's memory card/my music) you can view all of the music tracks on the memory card ...

when you're looking at your text messages, select the options button (the left one) and then select "mark", and go to "mark all", then once they are all marked, go back to the options menu and select "delete" and they will all be gone!
one of the only things I don't like about this phone is how difficult it is to erase the call logs, and also that you can't input a phone number into the calender and then call ...

what were the problems?
i haven't been on this board much since i got my phone, as it's been great.
got mine in January from letstalk.com (wish i would had waited now that it's free!!) but it was only $100 - definitely worth it.
have had no major issues. occasionaly the phone will freeze and I need to restart it, but most phones do that, and I think it's best to power cycle it once a day, as with any phone ...

I got a card reader (Sandisk - http://www.sandisk.com/Products/Item(1145)-SD DR-89-SanDisk_ImageMate_12in1_ReaderWriter.as px) - it's cheaper to buy elsewhere online
I connect my Kingston 1 gig RS-MMC dual voltage card I got for like $50 online and transfer my files that way - I find it's much easier and faster than using the USB cable.

giant 6682 ad!!!
I saw an ad for the 6682, showing off its camera, on the side of a muni *BUS* in downtown San Francisco!! how cool is that? i am also seeing this phone as a "demo" on a lot of commericals sites for phone apps, and in magazines... everyone who sees my phone loves it... this was definitely the best choice i've made for a cell phone... ever!

yes you're right, I do have it set up differently.
why don't you try doing what I did? several other users on here did the same thing and are all happy with their results.
the back looks sharp with the black and yes it never comes unclipped - it's truly solid. also, because you have the OEM front and keypad, there's no loss of quality and function.

not sure, who's your service provider? i have cingular and it always tells me when i have a new voicemail.
in fact, it might be in your voicemail settings if you have cingular. call your voicemail, and tweak your "notifications" -i think one of them controls how you are notified.

well we all have our opinions.
i got the rubberized black one, and it's very nice, and is of solid construction.
i only put the back on, and left the front the OEM silver, with the OEM keypad. it's two tone but it looks sharp - people always remark on how great it looks. the new cover never comes open accidentally anymore.

no but I will say 2 things:
1) wirefly can be a bit shady. personally, i don't like them. I ordered through letstalk.com. I have purchased several phones through them and their customer service is great, and their rebates are clear and easy to understand. they seem to want to help the customer.
2) visa reward cards are kind of useless. a LOT of retailers won't take them. My friend has a $200 one that Cingular gave him as a rebate ...

I have a 1 gig - I have a TON of music (almost 200 songs) on there (all mp3's, about 192 kbps bit rate) - i also have some nice pictures for wallpapers, a few different themes, ringtones, some email things, pictures/videos i've taken, and i also have some 3rd part applications such as virgin radio, oggplay, and vnes and of course a bunch of nintendo roms! i am gonna try and find a way to get ngage games ...

wow man i am really sorry. what firmware do you have? i have had this phone for about a month now and the only issue it has it occasionally it will lock up and i have to power cycle it. i've noticed this happening about 5 times and it was either after i was changing menus and pressing keys really quickly (and the OS couldn't keep up) or after i tried accessing things after the phone had been sitting ...

why would anyone want to get rid of this phone??? it's freakin awesome!! love this thing. great quality and with a few upgrades it is hands down the best phone i've ever had. so many ways to personalize it and add programs...people see and go, "what's that??" and are wowed when i show them what it can do. seriously, does cingular have a better phone out there right now than the 6682? methinks not!

I switched from Verizon to AT+T Wireless 3 years ago and never looked back. Not only did Verizon have crappier phones, their customer service is appauling. I got the 6682 with a new Cingular contract (go through Letstalk.com, much cheaper) and although Cingular isn't the best it's probably the lesser of two evils. Granted, Verizon has better downloads - ringtones, music etc. The rollover minutes are a deal breaker for me - Verizon, T Mobile, sprint/Nextel - they can't ...

hey VPU2 - I called AT+T business customer service (had a premier account) - they said I can merge my two lines of service (the new one the cingular one I got through letstalk.com), "migrate" the AT+T number over to my new Cingular account, extend my business discounts, and then cancel out my AT+T line of service... so in the end, I get, a cheaper phone, a decent service plan (not quite as good as my AT+T one!) and ...

if you want everything in a phone, get the nokia 6682. yes it is pretty big compared to the ROKR but it is so much more powerful than either phone. it's a bit expensive but only $149 on letstalk.com
you could wait for the next RAZR or the SLVR, but they do not have have their own OS and will likely have mp3 limits.
