Even dumb phones can be tracked. They know what tower your phone was pinging off of if you've made a call, received a call, sent a text, or received a text. They won't know your exact location, but they can get an approximate location. Law enforcement uses this tactic all the time to determine if a suspect was in the location of a crime at the time the crime took place.

I think you're asking too much of people, Timmy. I agree with what you're saying and it is their own fault, but I know that nobody wants to do the work. They always want someone else to blame when they screw up.

These stories make me laugh. I'm so glad I no longer have to deal with this. I stopped working in the business three years ago. I did it for three years and that was enough for me.

It's with the stock messaging app. I've experienced it from time to time. I've been using Handcent for about a month now and have not experienced the same issues. As a matter of fact, I hadn't experienced the issue with the stock app for several months, but it did happen quite a bit a few months after I bought it (Original Droid).

I have the original Moto Droid and it's happened to me a few times. I now use Handcent instead of the stock messenger and have not had this happen to me since. Handcent is so much better than the stock one, so it's a great solution.

It was and isn't a merger! It was an acquisition of Alltel by Verizon. It may just be semantics, but it's still true.

The people who pay for TV will not be affected as they receive their signal through cable or satellite. Only those receiving over the air transmissions will be affected.
I think it's ludicrous that people still haven't taken the appropriate measures, it's only been announced for two years on practically every commercial break. Procrastination doesn't pay, and these people shouldn't be rewarded for it.

China wireless to pass 500M

China should surpass 500 million cellular connections during the third quarter, according to Wireless Intelligence, a joint venture of Ovum and the GSM Association.
The firm said China adds about 19 million connections per quarter, representing a quarterly growth rate of about 4%.
China Mobile dominates the market with nearly 70% of total subscribers and 79% of prepaid customers, said Wireless Intelligence.

In certain states (such as here in California) you're charged for the sales tax on the retail price of the phone. That is why. It's pretty easy to understand once you have that information.
The same would hold true if you were to win a car on The Price is Right. You'd be liable for any taxes on the car. No two ways about it.

First of all, they are VX XXXX not VH. Secondly, the VX8600 is newer than the VX8100, not the other way around.
Thirdly, why does it matter if you can read the messages on the outside? You're more than likely going to respond to the message sent, at which point you will have to open the phone, which ultimately makes the fact that you can read it on the outside moot.
