Re: If people are so worried about their privacy,
Even dumb phones can be tracked. They know what tower your phone was pinging off of if you've made a call, received a call, sent a text, or received a text. They won't know your exact location, but they can get an approximate location. Law enforcement uses this tactic all the time to determine if a suspect was in the location of a crime at the time the crime took place.
Re: I know I am going to get slammed so here it goes......
I think you're asking too much of people, Timmy. I agree with what you're saying and it is their own fault, but I know that nobody wants to do the work. They always want someone else to blame when they screw up.
Re: Since we are off topic...
lol I made that same comment before having read your post.
Re: On second thought...
I find it comical that you talk about people's low intelligence when yours can be questioned just by seeing your poor grasp of the English language. Unless of course you're a foreigner, then it would be understandable.
Re: You're confused...
Wow, perhaps you should proofread what you've typed before you submit. It's hard to read.
Re: "what "ahh" factor would I get?"
I'm guessing English isn't one of the classes you're taking.
Re: Kind of Customers:
These stories make me laugh. I'm so glad I no longer have to deal with this. I stopped working in the business three years ago. I did it for three years and that was enough for me.
Re: Default messaging app?
It's with the stock messaging app. I've experienced it from time to time. I've been using Handcent for about a month now and have not experienced the same issues. As a matter of fact, I hadn't experienced the issue with the stock app for several months, but it did happen quite a bit a few months after I bought it (Original Droid).
Re: Please correct me if I'm wrong... BUT:
I have the original Moto Droid and it's happened to me a few times. I now use Handcent instead of the stock messenger and have not had this happen to me since. Handcent is so much better than the stock one, so it's a great solution.
Re: just curious...
Verizon already has something similar to this, without the instructional videos.
Stop calling it a merger!
It was and isn't a merger! It was an acquisition of Alltel by Verizon. It may just be semantics, but it's still true.
Re: RIP Alltel
Re: The broadcasters will look like the bad guys
The people who pay for TV will not be affected as they receive their signal through cable or satellite. Only those receiving over the air transmissions will be affected. I think it's ludicrous that people still haven't taken the appropriate measures, it's only been announced for two years on practically every commercial break. Procrastination doesn't pay, and these people shouldn't be rewarded for it.
Re: What exactly was the point of this merger?
It's not a merger. It's a larger company (Verizon) acquiring a smaller company (Alltel).
Re: oh wow
I second that as I also have the Dare. I am actually responding from that very phone.
Re: why Why WHY?!
I sure am.:D
Re: why Why WHY?!
I am so glad I don't have to deal with these issues anymore.
Re: OKAY SEPTEMBER!!!!!!
That's pretty much true. I'm looking forward to the the HTC 5800 myself.
Re: is this universal?
He's talking about the Razr consumer, not the actual product.
I'm with krickt on this one. I fail to see where the salesperson was being unethical.

Re: Hasn't this been around for years?
This is new for Yahoo! Mail as it stated in the article. It wasn't claiming that it's the first time it's been possible to do that.
Re: SANYO! STOP COPYING!!!
That exclusivity deal with Sprint is also the reason Sanyo's cell phone division is being sold: not enough customers are joining Sprint and it's losing money for them. Oops!
Re: In defense of the OP...
Notice how your post didn't have any responses? That's because no one wants to acknowledge their stupidity.
Re: Just another example of how customers can be a dumbass
In certain states (such as here in California) you're charged for the sales tax on the retail price of the phone. That is why. It's pretty easy to understand once you have that information. The same would hold true if you were to win a car on The Price is Right. You'd be liable for any taxes on the car. No two ways about it.
Re: Americans with Disabilities Act
Tell him that he needs to take it up with the phone manufacturer, not you or Verizon/Cingular/T-Mobile/Sprint/Other.
Re: was gonna go vzw but sprint and at&t got mad phones
It's Ray Carroll.
Re: 3 hundy?
Um, Verizon didn't build this phone, Motorola did. Also, Sprint is selling this phone, too. Where's your gripe with them?
Re: It's a Beautiful Morning...
Bondage mask? Oh my?
Re: Last day a month, so close to goal..
I already surpassed my goal. I'm at 114%. I was supposed to work at a busier store today, but the told me to come here. I could have made even more money today. Oh, well.
Re: My company is circling the drain! (or Secret Shoppers Stink)
My sentiments exactly.
Re: Again and again and again
She's going from Canada to Arizona? That's like going from Pluto to the Sun.
Re: Will we still be able to......
First of all, they are VX XXXX not VH. Secondly, the VX8600 is newer than the VX8100, not the other way around. Thirdly, why does it matter if you can read the messages on the outside? You're more than likely going to respond to the message sent, at which point you will have to open the phone, which ultimately makes the fact that you can read it on the outside moot.
Re: how stupid can we get??? be ready for part 3...
"Decided" to work. What an ass clown.
Re: A customer just hugged me.
You dirty, dirty whore!
Re: A customer just hugged me.
Before gravity took its toll...
Re: For all the complaining customers!
Thank you, it's good to know there are still people out there who have a fully functioning brain.
Re: Why does At&ts network suck so bad?
Actually, that's how many Jews were killed by Hitler. He killed many more than that. I believe the number is somewhere near 11.2 million.
Re: Reception on the Samsung U540?
My cousin has that phone and he says it has better reception than his two previous phones (LG 8600 and Razr).
