Cool. Thanks for your help.
Re: What kind of plan should I get? Noob alert!
Can you translate this a bit, please? What is post paid service? Is that a go phone? And what is a PDA Max plan? I assume this is different than Media Net? Yes?
thanks...
What kind of plan should I get? Noob alert!
I'm going to sign up with Cingular soon and plan on using an unlocked Nokia E61, at least initially. I don't want an extended contract.
What's the best way to obtain Cingular service, given that I want to use an unlocked phone, some voice and some data - occassional email. Do I simply go into the store and ask for a prepaid SIM card with data access? Is that Media Net? Or do I have to buy one of their ...
I got it...
Found it while out of town this weekend in the St. Louis area. Very cool - small, sleek, light. Just what I was looking for.
Re: When can I BUY the a640?
What part of the country are you in foneguy?
When can I BUY the a640?
Now that the phone has been "released" how long does it usually take to filter down to the stores for purchase? I can't seem to find them in stock anywhere...
Re: UPDATE: New phone releases
If the a640 is being released in 6/29, should we see it in stores on this date or only available online?
Re: Most powerful network in chicago
Well, I've never had problems with Sprint. I've tried Cingular and Verizon and previously AT&T. Sprint has been the most reliable in the loop and on the northside. I think their phones are generally pretty boring but the signal is reliable for me. YMMV.
Re: New Phones, Release Dates!!!! Ready, Excited
I mean Sunday is 6/25. You know what I mean... sorry.
Re: New Phones, Release Dates!!!! Ready, Excited
Are they going to stock new phones in stores on a Sunday, which is 6/26? I'm ready to pick up an A640...
Re: we have a review unit!
Hurry up! Please. I've been getting ready to order this phone and would like to know you're impressions before I buy.
How does it work as a phone, in terms of being able to organize contacts? Would you consider it mostly a music player, mostly a camera, or mostly a phone? Since I'll be using it as a phone - for business and personal use - I'm curious if it will work well and organize my many contacts properly. Does ...
Re: w810i and Cingular - us?
I've never bought a phone not being sold directly by a carrier. How hard is it to activate the phone and how would I go about this?
Anyone using this now?
Anyonw using the W810 currently in the US on Cingular?
Changing faceplates
Does anyone have experience changing the faceplates on the 6030? Is it difficult or are special tools required? Thanks...
Re: Should I switch to 880?
I got my A880 two days ago and love it! I switched out my Treo because I got tired of lugging around the weight and bulk in my pocket. It was uncomfortable, for me, (not to mention dorky looking) to holster the Treo on my belt. The A880 is small and light - not much bigger than a pager. It feels solid, great resolution, and room for lots of contacts and information. I'm happy with the purchase.
Holster available?
I just picked up one of these phones today and love it. I'm wondering if anyone has found a swivel holster for the phone yet? Not a case or a pouch, but a holster.
Thanks for info...
Re: Cingular question
Thanks for the info, but sorry for my ignorance.
By "chip" you mean the chip that will come installed in my initial phone purchase? Correct?
Is chip removal difficult to do?
Thanks again...
Cingular question
I'm thinking of signing up with Cingular. Do they offer an online esn change? Can I switch to a different Cingular phone online, or do I have to call customer service? Thanks...
Re: A couple questions
Sorry, I lied. That was three questions.
A couple questions
I'm thinking of getting the 4700 with Verizon soon. I have two questions:
1) Can you put the phone onto vibrate only when receiving PTT calls? Or will there always be some sort of noise alerting you to incoming PTT call?
2) What is the vibrate like on voice calls? Pretty robust?
3) I see this phone sometimes pictured with both a blue or a silver cover. Are these colors carrier specific? Does Verizon only have silver colored phones?
Thanks for information...

Any new PTT phones?
Are there any new Verizon PTT phones coming out in the near future. I'm thinking of signing up for LG-VX4700 phones, but wonder if new stuff is forthcoming.
Thanks...
