It's very annoying when people that have never owned the phone and own a competing device start a thread full of fake problems just to bring it down. We understand, you own and Evo and for some reason you feel threatened by the Droid X. Why? I have no idea, but it's sad on your part. Enjoy your Evo, but stop bashing a similar phone just because you're insecure about your purchase. You could actually turn ...

What are you talking about? Not only did Verizon say AT&T's 3G network COVERAGE lacks, but the 3G coverage that IS THERE has been expanded so poorly, it can't support smartphones. Verizon clearly attacks both the COVERAGE AND QUALITY of AT&T's network. It's plainly obvious to anyone that can read, which is why it may be difficult to understand to an AT&T fanboy. Being a wireless fanboy is completely stupid as supporting a wireless company does nothing ...

Motorola's 550MHz processor will run circles around their 800MHz processor for the same reason a 2.66GHz i7 will run circles around a 3GHz Core 2 Quad. The Motorola will run an architecture far ahead of the Samsung's, not to mention an independent GPU that will blow the Moment out of the water for gaming, all while getting far better battery life. And yes, the 'Motorola vs. Samsung' argument will be the most important part. Not only will the ...

Not sure about the apps as I do not own the Rogue, but this is actually not a proprietary Samsung interface. The Touchwiz 2.0 is only on the home screen. After you leave the home screen, the menu system is just the VZW interface. It's really a hybrid, as shown by the VZW-style signal bars and battery meter. The UI is really more VZW than Samsung.

It's just as annoying when you give a phone a low rating because T-Mobile's network isn't very good. It's common knowledge T-Mobile's national coverage is lacking compared to some of the larger players. You can't blame a device because you can't get 3G in your area. It's not the phone's fault that call quality and internet speed isn't up to par because of T-Mobile. HTC can't do anything about that. Reviews like this should ...

STOP COMPARING EVERY TOUCHSCREEN PHONE TO THE IPHONE! And stop comparing stupid things like faceplates and number of contacts, as if that is somehow a pro or con. Why not compare important things, like reception and the ability to install 3rd party JAVA applications, two things the iPhone fails MISERABLY at. Probably because realistically, that would make the iPhone fail hard against almost every WCDMA phone on the market. How inconvenient. Let's face it: the iPhone ...

Then either you have a bad battery or your phone didn't properly charge. You should be able to get 2-3 days out of this phone easily with light use. The battery is large at 950mAh. This phone uses less than half the amount of light when under full use, plus the battery is larger than the average ...

Then you got a dud. There are reports of a specific datecode of phones where the touchscreen seems to be a little laggy. These phones seem to be mostly found on display at the stores, which is a shame. The newest datecodes, specifically datecodes 3908 and 4008 are reported to have lagless touchscreens. Plain and simple, you got a dud. You can't judge a phone based on a display model. All phones are ...

Looks like a troll wandered over from the LG forum  I've owned LG's. I've owned Motorolas. I only buy Motorolas now because I need phones that actually get reception. LG's don't work at my house. Motorola's work perfectly with crystal clear reception. Maybe the people at LG should learn how to design an antenna before they start designing actual phones.

When I see reviews like this, it makes me question if the person actually owns the phone, or if they went through forum after forum looking for more common complaints in order to write a review with the sole purpose of lowering a phone's rating. There's no such thing as the "perfect phone" because it's impossible to design a phone for the individual consumer. I went into a Sprint store, even though I have Verizon, just to see the ...

pennyless, you have to be the most pathetic fanboy on all of Phonescoop. To even compare AT&T's archaic data network to Verizon's network where far more people are covered by 3G than 1xRTT is an absolute joke. There is no comparison. The only advantage of having a GSM carrier is getting unlocked phones. Everything else in the AT&T vs. Verizon argument is in Verizon's favor. Re: Any v9m version come with java besides sprint?
Oct 5, 2007, 10:05 PM

No, the only major American CDMA provider that uses JAVA is Sprint. If you're even thinking about flashing your phone and you don't know that Alltel uses BREW...you may want to brush up on the basics a little bit. If you EVER flash it to anything using JAVA, the phone will be extremely limited because no Verizon-specific services will work. Nothing within GIN will work, ever - no VZNav, no GIN apps, no Backup Assistant...nothing involving BREW, ever. If ...

Since US Cellular uses BREW and not JAVA, JAVA apps aren't going to work on the phone. The ONLY US CDMA provider that supports JAVA is Sprint, and since their data authentication service is completely different than Verizon's, flashing to the Sprint interface will make your phone only able to make calls. None of the data services will work. You're stuck with no JAVA until Canadian providers like Telus get the phone (they don't have it yet) and ...

I agree with CaptJeff. Please, write VZW a letter explaining to them that after 6 years, you left over the UI. If Verizon loses enough customers based on the UI, then they may actually "hear us now." I can understand putting the UI on the basic phones - the phones the non-tech savvy people will get - but NOT on expensive phones like the V9m. They should have the intended UI. It's a bunch of BS. I'd like to add to what I said above, if you want a TRUE reading of signal strength, you have to put your phone into TEST MODE and read the -db reading. That tells you your real signal strength, and that's the ONLY way to compare a phone's reception to another. Comparing bars MEAN NOTHING. No, you don't have a bad phone. "Bars" are practically meaningless. They're all calibrated differently on different models of phones, and they only give you a general overview of signal strength. Bars don't take into account network congestion, pilot pollution, interference from other signals, the phone's ability to block out multiple signals from the same source...I have held perfectly clear calls for long periods with 1 bar and I've dropped calls with "full service." Bars are meaningless ...

*BAR* iPhone *BARF* Sounds like to me you would have been MUCH happier with an unlocked V8. The functionality absolutely blows the iPhone away, and the MOTOMAGX interface is a thing of beauty. Since it's obvious you don't care about high speed data (since the iPhone is strictly 2G), I STRONGLY recommend returning that piece of garbage for a slick V8. If GSM is what you want, nothing beats an unlocked V8 IMO.
