Blackberry Manager 5.0 and the Verizon Tour
Jul 26, 2009, 9:01 PM
in the BlackBerry Tour 9630 forum

I have not been able to install the new manager even with the help of VZ techs and BB techs. It is the last part that has a problem. When attempting to sychronize with the BB site, it will not work. It just states "retry" which has failed each time. If anyone has a solution, let me know.

The store manager in los angeles informed me a premium plan is required. Lots of sruff flying around on phone scoop regarding required plans. I guess I(we)will have to wait until the phone is released to the stores on November 21st.

Looked at the manual and there is no description for predictive text. Perhaps I missed it. Where did you get the information it has predictive text for the touch screen? P.S. Yeah, who needs predictive text for the qwerty keyboard, duh

does your phone sometimes freeze (pop up window remains on display) after sending a text message and you need to push the END button? If so,did you notify Motorola and what was their response? Okay, if you have not had this issue, no need to reply. Thank you, Jack

It all depends on how you post in another phone forum. If you stay with the facts of your experience, without emotional comments, then it is informative. No need to bash the phone because you will only get a major backlash. We have the LG VX-8100 (hers)AND the Motorola E815 (mine). I do get better reception on the 815 which is important to me. The ability to read text messages on the 8100 external ...

okay, I will offer you this suggestion; do not use the e815 with her wired bluetooth setup. Sometimes there is a conflict and you are experiencing this for yourself. If you really like the 815 other than this one problem, and you have exhausted verizon, moto, etc. technical support, and the folks on this forum have no answers, well then, try howardforums. There are tons of technical information and people willing to help. Jack http://www.howardforums.com/index.php ?s=74889edd5b24028b92d50a92359a9e7d

If you have information and/or experience with the 8100 or the 815, and you choose to inform others of this, then by all means do so. That is what the forum is for...to inform! Personal or emotional attacks on forum members are not appreciated or productive. Thanks, Jack

Checked verizon website Monday 8/29. Price is up and so are those nasty red borders on the main screen as depicted in the photo. Same ones on the LG8100 whose price has dropped. Seems the price just flipped flopped on these phones. Go figure.

Yup! the price went down on the 8100 and the price went up on the moto e815. Check the Verizon website.

The 815 does not suck! We were testing the Plantronics V510 bluetooth headset on the 815 and Lg 8100. The person on the receiving end heard an echo. The person was a plantronics tecnician. She asked if the volume on the phones were set on high. They were. We lowered the sound on the phones and the echo on both phones is gone. The volume on the plantronics is excellent. Re: e815 Call Disconnect tone?
Aug 24, 2005, 10:11 PM
in the Motorola E815 / E816 Hollywood forum

Were you looking at a samsung phone? The samsung phone does have a disconnect tone. It will beep when a call is dropped or disconnected because of any reason. It acts just like a land line. When you get disconnected on a land line you get a dial tone. Great feature! The dropped call notification is when your phone loses contact with a cell tower and the call is dropped.

Contact motorola tech support on the motorola.com site. Tell them you are aware other users have contacted them with this "glitch" as they describe it. Ask them "who is responsible for creating a software fix for this problem and when will it be available". The more people contact them... Motorola did confirm it is a glitch.

I will be using the 815 mostly as a cellphone. If you are using the phone primarily for this, what has been your average talktime and standby time without using a bluetooth headset. If you use a bluetooth headset, please specify what headset and average talktime and standby time. I live in Sherman Oaks, a suburb of Los Angeles.

Dear Jack, Thank you for contacting Motorola e-mail support, once again. Regarding your concern, currently, the alarm feature works as you described in your e-mail. If you receive a text message, the text message us ignored, and the alarm is set, the alarm will be disabled. Currently, this is how the phone works, however, we are working feverishly on a software upgrade to improve the quality of this phone, since this feature may result in an inconvenience for our consumers. "Sadly disappointing...oh, what could have been..." by Animal Crow Pros: EXTREMELY well-built, the best vibrate feature out there, (limited) bluetooth and miniSD compatibility, nice screens, nice stereo speakers, menus well-designed, read txt messages without opening phone Cons: Camera is terrible, speakerphone is mediocre at best, earpiece volume issues, numerous software bugs, some of which can cause rebooting and freezing...and more! Call Verizon Mobile Web Office 866-788-9387. I have been informed Mobile Phone Tools can only be used for the phone contacts. Because of Vcast and EVDO, the phone cannot be used as a modem. It is written in the contract...damn!
