I'm such a sucker for odd phones. I loved both LG Lotus/elites and a Panasonic GD92. I hope it comes to Virgin Mobile.
Re: Not 'near'
If they ever got the notion to let people pay off their phones over the course of three months or more included in their bill, their business would explode.
Re: Used Sprint iPhone work?
Thanks
Used Sprint iPhone work?
Same network, right?
Re: Anyway to make screen stay on when charging?
I don't think so, at least not separate from when it's not charging. Otherwise, set the display backlight to "always on"
Re: USB Car Charger / LG Travel Charger Issue
That charger did not work. I guess the problem isn't the amperage.
I'm still reasearching this.

Re: USB Car Charger / LG Travel Charger Issue
The LG travel charger outputs 5v/.85amps.
The macbook and iPod chargers output .5amps.
USB Car Charger / LG Travel Charger Issue
We took our Lotuses on their first car trip.
We were surprised when we hooked the usb cables into our usb/12-volt iPod charger that the phone said something along the lines of "Please switch to LG Travel Charger".
Is the phone only programmed to recognize LG wall and travel chargers?
Re: Accessories
I just went to the Sprint store today. They said they wouldn't be getting anything in for a couple weeks.
Almost got it right: 1.3 megapixel?
Actually, I'd be on it from the start, but the 1.3 megapixel camera is hard to swallow. Come on...2 should be stardard by now.
Looks like I'm sticking with my M610 for a little while longer.
I just won't pay for 3G level phone plans.

So can you still add messaging and data to something like the Talk plan?
Sorry, I meant that as a Talk Shared plan.
Because we would love to have two new phones, like the Rant, for the $70 Talk plan and just add messaging and net access like we do now.
Since our last contract, the plans have changed a lot.
Re: What plans will these use?
We barely use 500 minutes.
Re: What plans will these use?
I'm sorry. I confused something about the new plans.
Our current plan is shared on two phones with text and internet as add-ons. Two phones are cheaper now than one phone on the Everything Plan.
My issue isn't so much with required or not required phone plans with Sprint, but Sprints evolved plan structure.
You learn something new every day I guess.
So can you still add messaging and data to something like the Talk plan?
Re: What plans will these use?
Thanks for the insight.
Re: What plans will these use?
Newer phones are requiring the 3G plans $69/$99(unlimited).
It's too expensive, especially if you have a second phone. You can't get just one phone on the new plans and another phone on an older, slower plan.
Re: What plans will these use?
You shouldn't need high speed data plans to use phones. Sprint forces you to use 3G pricing when you shouldn't have to. Phones are 3G capable if I'm correct, not necessary.
Re: What plans will these use?
Well, the 69.99 plan doesn't allow you to add a phone at the cheaper plan rates. Neither the $69 or $99 plan do. If one phone has them, they all have to.
It's just crappy cellphone plan manipulation.
What plans will these use?
If they require the $100/month plan, count me out. 3G isn't even available where I live.
Insane Cost
So to make up for Sprint's lack of coverage or existing holes in their coverage (of which my house is built in), Sprint wants me to double my monthly cost?
How about a one time fee of $50. There's no need for a subscription for an antenna.
I guess I'll be sticking with my very awesome $15/month Vonage service. I just wish people would remember to call that first instead of my cell.
Also works in Firefox

Book mark that and set the pref to open in the sidebar.
Re: Is this the best they can do?
My last two phones have been Samsungs. My M610 is rock solid and as light and thin as it is, that's saying quite a lot.
I'm very excited about this phone and I hope I can get when my current plan runs out. If it's not $400.
Re: real music ringtones
I haven't figured it out either. Everything goes right to the media player when you open the file. I can't even send files through email anymore (like on my PM-8200).
And it doesn't like it supports midi anymore.
Video Review - YouTube
PhoneScoop has quite a lot of video reviews of phones up.

Whoopie :(
:(
I was really hoping for a camera upgrade. Or at least the ability to send pictures that are "saved" to the phone.
What a bummer.
Re: Is it easier to send/receive txt messages on the 8200 than on the 8100?
When you hit the messaging button on the nav key, it brings up 5 options: Send Mail, Picture Mail, Text Msg, Go to Email, and Voicemail.
-Send Mail is super quick messaging.
-Picture mail goes to either an inbox or your pictures / camera mode.
-Text Msg goes to your phone's message box (Inbox, Sent, Outbox, Drafts)
-Go to Email goes to PCS Email online, completely different set of emails.
-Voicemail, self explanitory.
I don't use the PCS Mail at all and I can't figure ...
Re: Can someone who owns the phone help?
No status light on the outside. I guess it's been replaced with the LCD.
Though there is a blinking red led when the camera is on.
No sneaky pictures
Suncom, $175
Suncom is carrying this phone for $174 after rebate. Though they have it listed as the 8600, I don't know if there were any major changes to it or if they just released the wrong number on their website.
Re: Suncom's future
Thanks but that was pretty asinine of you. I get better coverage in Virginia than any of my Sprint friends :P
Anyways..I guess I'll stick with them for as long as they support TDMA and don't hike the price up. I've got 300/2700 minutes for $44/month. Plus I dont really need a camera and web access. That's what work is for 8O :)
Suncom's future
What, if any, affect does this have on Suncom. I'm totally in love with their service and my Panasonic Allure, but if I need to jump ship...
Thanks
AT&T too big. Never made sense.
I feel like I should have seen this coming.
Why the hell would AT&T just up and sell off the biggest, new technology they have? It was almost like they were saying, "We're through with this wireless bullshit."
I don't know how the FCC is letting anyone get away with something like this. What a corporate steaming load.
Goes to make phone call on Suncom phone
DOH!
Nice coverage Rich
I'm definetly impressed with the number of bluetooth accessories coming out for phones and how they are used. That PC SMS service is pretty slick. I can't wait until this is a more widely used technology. I guess I'm waiting for a good enough reason to make me get rid of my Panasonic Allure...not that their are not enough tempting reasons already.
