Re: Had the Pearl, have the Pre now

in the BlackBerry Tour 9630 forum

I agree with you somewhat. I had the Curve and LOVED it to death. Here is my take on the pros and cons of Pre vs. BB/Curve: 1. Curve has better keyboard. When I switched to Pre it was a bit of a learning curve with the keyboard, being a bit smaller and the front slider kind of annoys me because my thumbs will hit it when I type. So I can't type as fast on the Pre, but the ...

in the Article: RIM Announces the Dual-Mode Tour for Sprint and Verizon Wireless forum

Wow this phone looks nice. I just switched over from BB Curve w/Verizon to the Pre w/Sprint. So far I've had good reception and cust service. I used to pay $85 w/taxes on Vzw for 450 minutes, 500 text/unlimited IN text and BB data. 450 minutes was enuf for me cuz most of my family & friends were on Vzw so calls were free. But now I have 2 lines on Sprint sharing 1500 minutes ...

in the Palm Pre (CDMA) forum

I agree. So far I really like the form of and it and I haven't even begun to check out all the features. I think it seems well made and the keyboard seems pretty good, a little smaller than my Curve but I think I will get used to it. I am just hoping Sprint coverage will be on par w/Verizon. I was really tentative to make the switch, so I'll keep my fingers crossed.

You need to free up memory on your Pearl. Here's a helpful link from pinstack.com on how to do it: http://blackberryforums.pinstack.com/2 2541-how_stop_disappearing_sms_mms_e.html

Re: Blackberry Pearl 8130 vs. LG Voyager
Feb 6, 2008, 2:21 PM
in the BlackBerry Pearl 8130 forum

I had the Pearl first and loved it. But like you, also couldn't resist the hype so I exchanged the Pearl for the Voyager when it came out. I loved the screens on the Voyager and the TV service was nice. But maybe it's because I used the Pearl first, I felt like the keyboard on the Voyager was so wide that I actually typed slower on it because my fingers had to move all over ...

How to accept license agreement?
Jan 7, 2008, 12:42 PM
in the BlackBerry Pearl 8130 forum

So I downloaded the high memory version of opera mini 4. But when I go to launch it, and get the initial license agreement page, it asks me to press Accept, which is supposed to be at the bottom. But when I scroll down to the bottom, the page ends with the contact information for Opera Software, and I don't see the Accept button to click. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

I am likely going to be listing my Voyager on Ebay soon. I'm in the Los Angeles area. If you're local and interested in purchasing the phone, email me at smembr8880@yahoo.com. I've had the phone since 11/21/07 and it is in MINT condition, with all original stickers/screen protectors on the phone. I also have a pink silicon Verizon case and the game Zuma on the phone. Thanks.

What phone are you getting instead? I would say you could easily get at least $350 for the phone. I've seen them sold as much as $450 USED on Ebay. Just depends on how USED it is. I am thinking of selling mine as well. I miss my Blackberry :(

How well do the Fellowes or other office brands protectors work?
Dec 12, 2007, 2:49 PM

I saw the screen protectors by Fellowes at Best Buy over the weekend and was thinking of buying them. Anyone know if these work well? They are ones that you have to cut to fit you specific phone or device.

That's okay. I just wanted to see what other people's opinions were. I might still stop by a store and see if I can get a nice manager to do anything for me. I really miss my Blackberry. Loved the way it can multi-task. I think the Voyager is just a bit bulky for me and I don't think I'll really use the TV feature much. I also think the calls on the Pearl ...

Thinking of returning Voyager and getting Pearl...can I exchange 2nd time within 30 days?
Dec 4, 2007, 6:42 PM
in the LG Voyager VX-10000 forum

So I upgraded to Choco 2 on 10/24 and exchanged it for the Voyager on 11/19 when it came out. I bought the Pearl for retail (to save my exchange) when it came out on 11/8 and returned it at the same time I bought the Voyager. And I really miss my Blackberry, so I'm thinking of exchanging the Voyager for the Pearl. Anyone think the VZW will make an exception and give me another exchange, ...

Keys are definitely small. They are wide, but very skinny up and down. I found it hard to dial by touch. Also, if you don't like SureType then this is not the phone for you. Have you tried using both phones at the store? That's the only way you'll know for sure which one you like, at least appearance wise and feel in the hand. I really liked the small size of the Pearl and although ...

I have owned both of these phones. I got the Pearl the day it was released, and then exchanged it for the Voyager the day it was released. Why? Because I always think the grass is greener on the other side. Nothing beats Blackberry for email. The Pearl was only the 2nd Blackberry I owned. I had the Curve (with Tmobile) for about a month before that. But on the other hand, I've always ...

Question about setting photos as wallpaper
Nov 26, 2007, 6:35 PM

So I am having trouble setting photos taken with the camera and setting them as wallpaper. Since the phone requires you take pictures in horizontal mode, how do you get the picture to appear vertically on external screen without cutting off at the sides? And when I take a picture in horizontal mode to set as internal wallpaper, it looks huge and I can't even see the whole picture because the bottom banner covers it. Any suggestions? ...

Re: Voyager predictive text?
Nov 14, 2007, 1:28 AM

Would be nice to have predictive text even with Qwerty because it can save a few keystrokes here and there if the word is long, etc or you just don't feel like typing all the letters. Also nice to have predictive when using the touch screen, in case you want to text one-handed with flip closed.

Which strategy/puzzle games avail. through Get it Now?
Oct 10, 2007, 2:18 PM
in the Motorola RIZR Z6tv forum

I notice that different cell phones seem to offer different games available through Get it Now. I am willing to pay for a game from time to time, but I want to know what's available in the puzzle/strategy type games. Anyone know if Bejeweled or Tetris type game is available on this phone? Or better yet, if you can look them up and list them, that would be great! Thanks!

The Razr 2 v9m also has the "talking phone" feature. I did try the phone for a week, and I did like that feature, but the cons outweighed the pros overall so I ended up returning it.

Thanks very much for the comments! In fact I did end up getting the Chocolate a couple of weeks ago and I love it. However, I have been going over my text allowance of 500 and VZW is just getting a bit expensive for me. I share 700 minutes with my hubby and it costs $70. Every month I pay about $100 because I have a 250 text each, $5 web on one phone, and ins on ...

I have heard the VZW will get the Curve also. I don't think Sprint is an option for me. My husband's company used a Sprint phone for work, and he dropped calls constantly at home. I did just read about Airave and it sounds interesting. I agree the Sprint v9m is a lot more functional than the VZW. However, I have friends with Sprint and I know for a fact that customer service is absolutely ...

Re: Texts on Front

No idea. I returned the V9m because I thought the huge outer screen was useless. With my old LG 8100 I could read the text messages on the front. I ended up getting the new Chocolate instead, which has pretty much everything I want in a phone. On a side note, I love VZW's coverage and cust service and have been with them a long time. But their plans are just too expensive. I ...

If you're asking about the VZW version, no you cannot read texts on the front. You see the envelope notifying you that you have a message, but you must open the the flip to read and reply. This is one of the reasons I returned the phone.

I totally agree. I had the Razr for a week and just wasn't thrilled about it. Looked great and great call quality, but it didn't have enough of the features I wanted. I switched it up for the new Chocolate and have been really happy with it so far. I've had it 3 days now and I'm already getting used to the slider form (my first) and haven't had a problem texting with the small keypad. The call ...

That's true. It's possible they will come out with a software update to fix some of the issues, but I wasn't willing to wait. Plus I doubt that it would fix many of the issues that I had with it anyway. The weight of the phone and the fact that it didn't fit comfortably in my hand were major factors as well. I just didn't think it lived up to the hype, especially because I ...

Ha that is true. The vibrate is very weak. Even when I had it sitting right next to me at my desk, I could barely hear it. I had to keep checking my phone to see if I missed a call. As far as ringers for text for contacts, I did have that on my LG 8100, but I guess the new Chocolate doesn't have that either. At least I couldn't find a way of doing ...

VZW's version of Razr 2 is form over substance. Likes: 1. Gorgeous 2. Crystal clear calls, like a landline 3. Nicely spaced keypad 4. Well built and seems sturdy Dislikes: 1. Useless huge outer screen - Can't read text msg and picture ID is tiny 2. Can't put on vibe mode w/o opening flip and scrolling with volume rocker 3. Width of phone didn't fit comfortably in my hand (I guess I would have had same problem with old Razr V3) 4. When scrolling through different numbers ...

Well if you have the NE2 upgrade, you get another $100 off, so the phone is only $30. I have not heard anything about iTunes on the Rokr. Since At&t has partnered with Apple on the iPhone, I would think their version of the Rokr, if they get it would have that capability. Not sure if VZW would have it. If you want to know what the feel and look of the Rokr would be like, just go to ...

My brother has the E815 and loves it. He won't upgrade until it breaks. I did see pics of the LG8350 on VZW's site and it does look pretty fugly. I went to the store this morning but didn't see it so I guess they don't have it in the stores yet. I woulnd't mind an iPhone myself, especially with the lower $399 price tag. But I just can't bring myself to switch to At&t. If I ...

Yep I couldn't stop obsessing about whether or not to keep this phone, or even say with VZW for that matter. I stopped by the store this morning and returned the Razr 2 and purchased the new Chocolate instead. I did not do an exchange, but rather a full return so I can have yet another full 30 days to try out the Chocolate. So far I really like it. The screen is a bit smaller, ...

Yep I agree the VZW version is definitely not up to the hype. Before I got the phone, I kept hoping it would do this and that, according to all capabilities that the phone was meant to handle. But in reality, it is really all about form over function. I ultimately end up comparing every new phone I try to my old LG 8100. It's an old phone, over 2 years old, but it has most ...

Posing photos of this phone will not help because it will look different depending on the light it is in. That is why every picture on the web, from the VZW site to cnet to various other reviews looks different. I say the only way to resolve this is to look at the phone in the store in various lights, and even walk outside with it in the daytime light. I know the phone I have ...
