T-Mobile does not renew contracts for every line on an account when one line goes through an equipment upgrade. Overall I've found your posts to be logical and informative but you're incorrect in this instance.

in the Article: FCC Wants A Better Explanation from Verizon On ETFs forum

9/11 happened with the co-operation of the US government. False Flag operation. If an airplane is going to destroy a building by hitting it, then the force of it would cause it to topple over. The only way a building is destroyed by collapsing straight down is through controlled demolition which is what happened to building #7. That event wasn't given any attention because they wanted all the focus on towers #1 and #2. ...

T-Mobile is not subsidizing the cost of these phones. Google is therefore they're charging their own ETF to make up for the loss if the contract is broken. T-Mobile's contract is separate. You can tell this is true because, at least for now, you have to buy the phone from Google and all troubleshooting/warranty servicing is being done through Google rather than through T-Mobile.

Did I say he did? info411 didn't ONLY state the guy he is responding to his misinformed. At least he put some effort into his post. Whether the information is factual or not is irrelevant as I wasn't commenting on his. Besides you have to admit someone who says "You are incredibly misinformed" and doesn't provide any other information, whether subjective or objective, to back it up is completely pointless.

Just because you've talked to people that sound like they haven't had any training doesn't mean there isn't a significant budget for training nor does it mean they didn't spend 2 months in a classroom. You're only aware of what you perceive so, of course, your perception is that these phone agents do not have training but do you really think VZW VPs are going to stick thousands of people on the phones without teaching them anything?

You shouldn't write posts like this without providing the facts or an analysis of how or in what way he is misinformed. By not providing that information, it makes your posts completely useless, worthless, etc. So if he is in fact misinformed, take the time to explain how.

And growing from less than 5 million customers in 2001 to 32 million customers in 2009 is not doing very well? I would think that's a pretty significant achievement plus it's very difficult to compare the video game industry to the cell phone industry. It's basically apples to oranges. If you were to go look at all of the accomplishments T-Mobile has done in the past 8 years, it's a pretty amazing timeline considering they don't have the ...

Hmmm, taking into consideration several facts (such as Tmo Slave's post in this article about the spectrum taking too long to get out of the government's hands which I can confirm and you said was an informative post especially since Microsoft MIGHT be considered to have the best all around system but it's hardly a reliable console) I hardly think this is a relative comparison. Each cell phone tower roughly costs around $200 to $250K to put up ...

Yes, being an employee for the company as well and they have as one of their top objectives to expand 3G coverage (I'm sure you've heard about this...) then I'm sure the coverage will expand.

Well, let's see. They just came out with it last year. Logically speaking, this would probably mean they're going to work on expanding it this year. Make sense?

There is a huge difference between buying a prepaid cell phone and unlocking it for your personal use on another carrier versus buying hundreds at a time, unlocking all of them and then reselling them for a significantly higher rate. In that situation it's T-Mobile that could have a negative image with the public if they don't do something about it. Make sense?

You think that's bad? I used to take WebTV customer care calls and the customers would say/ask us significantly more ignorant questions than that, such as: 1. Can you see me through the tv? 2. The red light on the WebTV unit...is that a mind control device? 3. (puts credit card on the screen after saying it in an unintelligble manner) Can you see that better? 4. This is exactly true. It's also why T-Mobile gains, at the minimum, 500,000 net customers per quarter while Sprint loses up to a million net customers per quarter. Most cell phone companies probably earn about 3 to 4 million new customers per quarter. That means for every customer you active, 3 to 4 are canceling the service. When you use facts, logic, and reason and not your own personal experiences, your posts sound a lot ...

Yes, you are absolutely correct. Just because a company outsources does not mean it is impossible to receive quality customer service. All this means is these are potential jobs for Americans that are sold to other people in another country. It's very difficult to hate on a company for doing this however, at least in a logical and business sense. Companies save significant amounts of money by outsourcing overseas. Some companies are able to ...

If you are a regular postpaid customer, you shouldn't get a foreign agent on the phone. This will typically apply to Flexpay, TMTG, and SmartAccess customers. The Activations department has always been outsourced to other companies, usually in Canada but not so sure anymore. I understand your feeling of not wanting to support a carrier that outsources to another country but I'm also not sure if there are any carriers left that don't. I know ...

This is correct. T-Mobile 3G uses the 2100 and 1700 bands exclusively (one band for upload and the other for download) and only a 3G phone with these bands will work. The first unlocked 3G phone that is capable of being used on T-Mobile's network is the Pharos, which is not launched yet.

3G radio antennas consume significantly more battery power than RIM has been comfortable with. The Bold is their first 3G BB. RIM has had trouble adapting 3G radios to their BB's because of that battery issue. Carriers may have a problem with a BB that would only last a couple of hours as well. I'm not saying that as a fact, just an opinion based on my experience and what I've seen. :)

I am sorry but this is incorrect. I have the G1 and I am able to pick a specific ring tone for a specific contact. I have also seen quite a few phones offer this ability as well but can not name a specific example at this time.

I would disagree with that for those that are tech-savy enough to be able to set up an unlocked phone efficiently. I've read many forum posts by other users who would never even consider upgrading through their carrier and sign a contract as a result. Instead, they purchase a phone directly from the manufacturer at full price and have it unlocked. Different needs and wants for different people. :)

Re: I hate FlexPay

I think we're assuming quite a few things here, such as this is a Flexpay customer who is dissatisfied with the service. What if it's a Customer Care Rep who takes Flexpay calls? Or a Retail Sales Rep that doesn't like dealing with Flexpay customers that come into the store with questions when he/she could be attempting to sell phones/activate lines to new/existing customers?

Re: calling all reps
Dec 9, 2008, 7:29 AM

There is a process for this. I recommend you call 611, Customer Care, and follow it. No employee in their right mind would risk their job in giving out this information without following that established process, especially in today's economy plus the chances of someone in that department reading these forums is slim. The majority of the T-Mobile employees in here are either phone agents of one kind or another or a Sales rep, neither of ...

A $500 deposit charged by any cell carrier is for those customers that are considered "High Risk". Think about it like this: $200.00 ETF plus $55 (average monthly bill) times 3 (If they're high risk, this means they're likely to go past due by up to 3 months so it's best to prepare for the worst is $165 so now you're at $365 and this isn't even including taxes that the cell carrier pays on the customer's ...

I wouldn't say they're in over their heads. First of all, you can't please everyone no matter how hard you try. 2nd, no carrier has the most amazing coverage everywhere. I guarantee you there are areas in the country where T-Mobile has excellent coverage and AT&T does not and the same goes for every single other carrier out there. I'm not saying T-Moblie doesn't have opportunities...They do. But you act like these are opportunities ...

Your statement is based on user experience and opinion. Meaning, that is what happened to you. I know quite a few people who have the G1 already and have had no problems with it, the service or the 3G coverage. It's worked pretty good so far. Either improvements need to be made in your area, which is always possible, or your expectations were too high to begin with. Just remember no system is perfect....

Just so you know, any satellite cable provider is terrible. I've had both Dish and Direct, both of them suck. Comcrap does too so not really any good options. Personally I decided to go the no cable at all route for the past three years and just use an antenna for my basic cable needs.

But if you're currently on a two year contract that would be longer than a 1 year extension, which I believe you said you are in another post, then there isn't a contract extension applicable.
