windows phones can do this
This can be done with a program called "WMWiFi Router", you can download it at wmwifirouter.com. I use it with the htc fuze and have used it with the htc tilt, it works very well for sharing your cellular data plan with another wifi device!
whats the point
whats the point of having a umts phone that does not support the umts network of the company you are signing a contract with?

hello
i am wanting to buy this phone but the one i am looking at purchasing is branded from tmobile and i have at&t.
unlocking it will not be a problem, but i am wondering if it will be possible to input at&t's web settings into this phone. i have had used unlocked tmobile phones in the past and on some of them tmobile blocks the menu where you can input other provider's web settings. does anyone know if ...

Re: Custom Alarm Tones?
you can use mp3 files, but they must be under the windows folder for your phone to recognize them.
Re: Youtube and Flash videos
if you want youtube videos, download "vtap", it's a free download.
Re: ???
ya. lets not forget about copy and paste function. and stereo bluetooth support for crying out loud! how can you make a "music phone" with no stereo bluetooth support?! i'll assume they left these key features out so that all of the apple lovers will drop another $600 when they release a second generation iphone.

Re: installing WM6 clean!!

How do I know if it's North America?
I am considering buying a nokia N95 from a friend of mine, but I want to make sure it is the North America version, not the European version. I know that on most Nokia phones that have a North American and worldwide version, the North American version is indicated by a "B" in the model number next to the serial numbers under the battery. An example of this would be the nokia 6230, or if from North America it ...
Re: HTC 8925 vs. iPhone
biggest difference between telenav and tom tom is that telenav is web based. your pocket pc connects through internet and loads maps to the phone.
this can be good and bad:
it's good because you don't have to update maps, it automatically updates. and also, it has real time driving traffic updater.
it's bad because you need phone coverage in order for it to work. if you travel outside the cell service area, no telenav!!
can i get some hsDpa?
I'm here in Denver, CO and we are still using edge!! Is Denver not big enough of a city to get 3G?
whats up with 850/2100mhz
there have been a lot of newer phones coming with umts in 850/2100mhz. i do know that 2100 is used in europe. the only carrier i can think of that uses 850 is att, but they are using 850 and 1900.
i guess my question is this :
will this phone work ok on att's network only having 850mhz umts?
what percentage of thier network is 850 and what is 1900?
50 mill ??
att sure is bending over backwards for apple. i think that 50 mill sure would have been better spent towards improving the umts network. heck, Colorado still has no umts network.
6121 vs 6120
i cannot see any differences between the 6121 classic and the 6120 classic. does anyone know what the difference is?
interesting..
Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn't the original ogo discontinued, including the service for it?
As I recall, the ogo was basically a phone line, you actually had a phone number, you could text and email unlimited, but could not make any calls.
I wonder what will be different this time around, and which carriers will be selling this device.
Re: which phones use Qualcomm chips?
well then I guess my question should have been this: Which UMTS/HSDPA phone manufacturers for USA carriers (besides LG and Samsung) are using Qualcomm chips?
Re: You're both wrong.
"Neither one gives a rat's @ss about the customers, just $$!"
seriously. all that they care about is money.
Re: which phones use Qualcomm chips?
"I am wondering which phone manufacturers (besides LG and Samsung) are using Qualcomm chips?"
I am specifically wondering which GSM phones use the Qualcomm chips.
which phones use Qualcomm chips?
I am wondering which phone manufacturers (besides LG and Samsung) are using Qualcomm chips?
Does anyone know which chips are used in the pocket pc's that are sold in the USA such as the "at&t/cingular 8525" ?
Maybe this "ban" will force more Nokia phones into the country?
Re: You're both wrong.
chocolateman85006 you hit the nail right on the head!
Re: is cingular gonna have a version of this phone
check out the cingular 8525.
it is sometimes referred to as the htc tytn. it is umts/hsdpa
Re: I have the US version?
You can easily see if it is the USA version by looking under the battery by the serial numbers. all nokia phones that are made in two forms (one being with 850mhz for use in north America) will be labeled with a "b" next to the model number. so if you phone says "6300b" then it is the us version. if it says "6300" then it is not.
also, what are your first impressions of the phone? how about battery ...
Re: Why not automatic time adjustment?????????
any windows pocket pc will read the time from your computer and change your pocket pc time to match. so the hour difference will only be a problem until the next time you sync your pocket pc to your computer.
release in USA??
does anyone know when the 850 usa version will be released? its not even on nokia usa site yet. I've searched online and can only find the 900 version. you would think phone manufacturers in this day in age would only sell quad band phones but that is a whole different discussion  . also does anyone know what carriers will pick up this phone is usa? with no umts I'd guess its for tmobile.?? just ...
what does this mean?
so, does this mean that carriers will be forced to give out unlock codes for gsm phones? does this mean that all phones sold from now on will be unlocked right out of the box?
