The battery life of this phone is horrible. I already had them replace the battery for me, but it's still the same. My 8100 lasted days before charging and was used frequently. I am probably going to ask them to replace the phone before my 30 days is up. After a 45 minute call, my battery was half dead...and I started with a full charge!
Does anyone have files of locked ringtones?
I am trying to located midi files of the 'missed call' tone and Ringer #6 from the latest lg phones (lg vx 8100, 8300 & 8600). Tried using bitpim to get them, but they are locked away somewhere. I wanted to switch those tones over to My Sounds. Any ideas on where I can get them?
What's the next new phone to have???
I know my name reflects a few phones back, but what's next from Verizon? I can easily pass over the 'chocolate' and all the flavors. My ne2 is approaching. Does anyone have any info about new LG phones?

MARY! I loved the old animation. When you turn your phone on and close the lid, the old animation is still there. It's different than if the flip is open. Go ahead..try it.

I know that ipod has a wireless headset. There will probably be a wireless headset for both audio/stereo listening sometime in the very near future.

Does anyone know how to get the SOUNDS (that are located in the txt message section, "chimes high, chimes low, fanfare, etc...") into the ringers section. I tried to find them using bitpim was not able to.

The volume issue seems to be cured. My friend has the same phone and we could never hear each other. Both phones are updated and the volume is improved.

I know it's only on for a second. I just thought the v-cast thing is kind of cheesy. The update is great, by the way. I put about 100 songs on there.

It took about three hours. There are two start up screens. The cool one is gone. Now there's only the ugly one and the stupid one.

Just got the update in Central NJ - East Brunswick. Seems good, but the start up screen that had the pictures of the Lighthouse and city scenes and sunset has been replaced with a V-Cast commercial. Pathetic.

Store in central NJ says there is an update, but not available yet. Tech did say it should be soon though...

I have v-cast now (free for the 1st month)and will have no problem cancelling it at the end of the trial period. It's not worth $15/month...$180/year! 8O

Yes...I have the ???????B?? problem. It usually appears after I send a message with an animation or a sound. What is the deal with this? I had my phone reloaded. You can erase it if you erase the entire box.

I think it helped. I never had a problem again with the ???????? but since the reloading and adding a bluetooth, I've had all sound go out twice. Turning off and on solved the problem though. Reloading can't hurt.

I have a PRL Version of PRL50316. I am in Central NJ and just had my phone's s/w reloaded last Thursday.

I have also had a problem with the phone accepting my "YES". It gets everything else but never the yes. The voice dialing on my 6000 was much quicker. All you did was push the button, say the name and it was calling. This voice command is too fussy.

Mary424...no problems with your phone, huh? I just seem to experience little problems that go away when the phone is turned off.

The sound is quite good. No snaps or crackles, but it does pick up background noise. The person on the other end can hear everything.

It is all verizon's fault. I do like the phone, but when I looked back at what LG said initially about the phone MP3 Player, 20 ringers, 512mb memory, it makes me :x . The phone could have been really great, but no, they want $5.99 from me so I can get a ringer on MOD TONES. Lame.

Train the phone to know your voice. Go to MENU, then to SETTINGS AND TOOLS. Select #1 TOOLS. Then select #8 VOICE COMMAND, then select #4 TRAIN WORDS.
I still preferred putting my own voice in there like the vx6000. This new recognition doesn't always pick up what I am saying.
Another Problem...SILENCE
All of a sudden the phone stopped making any noises. No keypad tone no beeps, no rings. Tried to play the ringers...nothing.
Tried to make a call with my bluetooth and the bluetooth beeped and the voice command menu appeared, but the voice was not there and it wouldn't accept any voice command.
I shut the phone off...again no sounds.
When I turned it back on all of the sounds returned and everything worked.

I have not tried the Jabra headsets, but what I like about the flamingo is that it's small and doesn't look very obvious.

Just paired the FlaminGO bluetooth to the phone. It's great, but I also noticed that the earpiece is much louder now. :)

the lg rep said that the volume on the phone can get a little jumpy and that downloading the software again should correct the problem.

I spoke to an LG rep about the earpiece volume and she said to bring it to verizon and have them reload the software. Has anyone done this yet?

I have had the same problem. It appeared after I sent a txt with sound & animation. It also wouldn't let me delete it. I had to erase all entries.

It seems as if the northeast is getting the phone later in the month. The 15th is almost here and no one knows about the phone in any of the stores in central jersey. They just keep saying next few weeks....
