Yeah, it has been pretty spotty so far. Sometimes it's on, others it's just 4G.

...not necessarily a bad thing. You can bring in revenue all day long, but if it's not profitable, what's the point?? Might it not be a bad idea to let those $19.99 home and $29.99 nation plans go if they don't generate profit dollars?? let them be a burden to another carrier. The dead weight leaves and cingular can focus on servicing quality customer's - family talk, large plans, and business pooled plans. Quantity ...

I know they're coming. I was at a training session back in January and they had mentioned that they would be coming out with them for Cingular - estimated date 2nd quarter of this year, which has come and gone.....

Rubber / heav duty phones?
Jul 11, 2006, 9:11 AM
in the AT&T forum

Does anyone have any info or insight as to when Cingular may be getting rubber or heavy duty phones similar to the phone Nextel has? This Push To Talk really blows Nextel's out of the water, but their phones are quite a bit more durable and customer's are very aprehensive about going to a less durable phone...

if you notice, this phone has push to talk on it. Cingular has yet to release their push to talk - you'll see it this fall.

if you're not a techie, you can always call 611 from your phone - free call, and have customer support change it to 30 seconds, anything after that will take away your minutes.

Re: Largest Coverage Area.... THE TRUTH
Jul 30, 2005, 9:53 PM
in the Rumor Mill forum

Flat out this is how it is... Verizon has the most coverage in terms of VOICE alone. They don't have more towers than Cingular, however they have more roaming partners when it comes to voice (IMHO, this won't last long). You can plainly see this if you compare a Verizon Map to a Cingular Map...although a giant rip off is that with Verizon you have to be on THEIR network to get mobile to mobile - with Cingular ...

When i return to work on Monday afternoon, if it hasn't been checked, i'll check the map for you and see how much more reception you'll receive once you migrate over...which direction outside of Willard? North, South, northeast?

Re: is it just me, or what is so special about the RAZR??
Jul 30, 2005, 9:19 AM
in the Verizon forum

Razr is actually a pretty decent phone - and it blows the v710 out of the water. First off the bluetooth is open, not locked to any particular devices, and it can be used for data as well as voice. Secondly, its made of Anodized aluminum - same stuff the airplanes are made of. I've had the RAZR since October, and prolly would be on my 3rd phone by now, but because the casing is so strong, when i drop ...

I don't understand why anyone would go to T-Mobile - If you're on Cingular, you use T-Mobiles towers for free - at least in my market, not to mention you get access to the Old ATT and the Cingular towers as well as any other roaming partner such as cell one, dobson, unicell... disgrutled = DFU

Hehe, i don't work at the call center, i'm an agent/authorized dealer. I HATE calling the call center and I advise our customers to call us first and not them. Especially seeing as how our call centers were rated second to last in the industry, by J.D. Power and Associates, only beating Sprint. Longest wait time and most retarded people. I sometimes have to call in 3 or 4 times on a single account just to ...

yikes, that's crazy. I know in my market - Northeast (upstate NY) we usually come pretty close. We may not beat them, but the rollover minutes out weigh that 1 - 5% difference.

yeah, i wouldn't be surprised being so close to Canada that you had fringe roaming. but, according to the map most to all of Niagra falls is HIGH reception - giving in building, in and in vehicle coverage. Nokia, in my opinion, is the best phone to resolve reception issues. Not sure about the 6102, since it's such a new phone, haven't even seen it myself yet. But i can tell you the Nokia 6010 ...

Go to a cingular store and ask the same thing, or call 1-800-331-0500. it'll ask you to put a phone number in, just put in 555-555-5555 and it'll tell you that number isn't found, keep putting it in, you'll then be transferred to a real person.

wait for the upgrade, you can upgrade 21 months into a 2 year service agreement or 11 months into a 1 year - sign up for another 1 or 2 years and get the corresponding discount. ORRRR, you can do an exception upgrade 6 months into contract if you're in good standing. You'll HAVE to sign for 2 years, and you'll only get the 1 year discounted price. If you can though, at least wait until ...

I hate XBM, its one of the worst ideas ever...they give customers seed stock, and half the time they're getting another broken phone. Samsungs, at least the ones mfg'd for Cingular so far haven't been the greatest. When it comes to Cingular, stick with the higher end devices like the Treo, Black Berry, and the Motorolas, Nokias, and Sony Ericssons. Sure, pop the zip over and i'll let you know how your reception should be.

Cingular offers many discounts for many different types of employees....Most government agenices and military will MOST LIKELY be able to get a discount. Other firms include, Lockheed Martin, Home Depot, ST. Paul Travelers, and many of the labor unions. You could go to your Human Resource department and ask them, specifically, for a Foundation Account Number (FAN Code). This is the code that the cingular call center reps will use to place the discount on your ...

As far as i know the E317 has the ENS, but it depends on how old it is...if it was produced before, say, september, it most likely does not. Also, if your phone has the ENS and you don't have a 64k SIM chip, you won't be able to Load Balance anyway. The tool i referred to in the previous reply is a mTIMap tool that Cingular Reps have. We're able to see Cingular, ATT, and Roaming partners. ...

What is your city and state? We have a tool that can pin point to the square mile of where you'll get reception. If you switch, you'll more than likely gain better reception, reason being you're in a phone without ENS (enhanced network selection). By getting into either the 551 or the 6102, you'll pick up this capability. What it means is you'll bounce back and forth between the ATT and Cingular towers much more ...

MORONS!!!! Nokia will release two versions of this phone - the first is the one that's advertised - tri band without the 850 freq. when avail. in the states, they'll remove the 900 mhz and put in the 850 freq. A world Tri-band phone is different than a U.S. Tri-band phone. I have customers come in all the time with a tri band phone (especially those from Asia) and it has the 1900, 900, and 1800 frequencies. ...
