I downloaded a normal telephone ring sound effect. I then edited it on Audacity and turned it into a 30 sec mp3. I then transferred it to my phone and used it as a ring tone. A couple of steps but it works.

I wonder if the Z6c will be similar in terms of GSM/CDMA coverage or will it be useful in the US as well. If so, can it be unlocked and how? That would be the best both worlds, CDMA/GSM.

I appreciate everyone's input. I ended up getting an LG vx5300 for someone else on the plan who didn't care about anything except a bluetooth headset and took her e815 for my son. VZW was great about switching everything around and everyone ended up OK at the end. I still do not look forward to the day when mine craps out and/or I am due for a new phone. I have searched all of the verizon stores, affiliated stores, best buy, and circuit city stores within a 15 mile radius and they are all out. I think I am resigned to switching brands and getting him an LG8300. It is a shame because I have all of the software (MPT and PST)and peripheral stuff (chargers, earlieces, cases) for the motorolas and transferring info will now be difficult at best.

I have an e815 and love it. I wanted to get one for my son before school starts and I guess I waited too late and the phone is now discontinued. I have had motorolas since the original star tac and would prefer a model similar to the e815 for him. The V3 seems a little fragile for him and my wife's V3 does not have reception equal to my e815. Does anyone know if Motorola is coming out ...
HS 850 and E815 issue
A new problem has started. Now, whenever I turn on the headset, the e815 recognizes the unit and then automatically starts dialing the last number that was dialed. Does anyone know how to disable this? Is this a known feature or is this a defect? Thanks.
e815, mobil web and ipaq4700
I have the e815 from VZX with mobile web enabled. I have tried using the bluetooth connection to/from my ipaq HX4700 to access internet via the phone but I cannot get them to all communicate. They recognize each other but I can't get them to work. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

I also am contemplating this issue. I spend a fair amount of time around Lake George, NY where the reception is spotty at best. I am trying to decide between the v710 and the e815 on the basis of whether I need the analog or not.
v710 vs e815
I am now told that the e815 is on hold because of a software issue. Are the differences between the e815 and the v710 so significant that I should wait or should I just get the v710 now? The price is the same and I don't anticipate much usage of the video features. Will the lack of analog limit me at all? I need a good phone. Period. I am stuck with verizon for a variety of reasons too ...

The same thing happened to me Saty nite. I was told it was a local batch that was bad and that they expected working ones this coming week. I am in NJ
