Ringer Volume
Oct 2, 2009, 2:08 PM
in the HTC Touch Pro2 (CDMA) forum

So i'm tempted to get this, but the thing that made me get rid of my old smartphone was the ringer volume was very low. So how's the volume on this thing, is it loud or just moderate. How does it compare to "dumb" phones in terms of how loud it gets.

Actually, if he's trying to put ringtones on the phone, there is no other way aside from buying it from his cell provider. If it's just to put his own backgrounds on the phone then he could just transfer via bluetooth if he doesn't have a microsd card. Even if he does, he can just get a microusb cable and put the phone in "usb mass storage" mode from the settings menue.

Thats what an extended battery is for. Did you get the phone for function or looks. If for function you sadly choose the wrong phone, if you were expecting long battery life. If for looks then your screwed and you did this all to yourself.

The memory card is just for storage. It can't be used to add to the memory/ram of the device.

I'd say go with the palm 755p. If thats all your going to and are not wanting to do anything either now or dont' see yourself wanting more in the future. Palm seems to suit what you'd want. I personally have the mogul and i love it. Do you have any expierience with either previous treo's or windows mobile devices?

This is a dumb question. It's like comparing apples to oranges. You just can't compared the 2. One runs the palm OS (755p) while the other runs Windows Mobile6 (mogul). Each have their own advantages that are OS related and are suited for different uses. You just have to figure out what you want to use with your pda, go with the one thats best suited for what you wish to do.

Are you daft? Wow, the people they let on the net these days. The titan overall has better hardware in it compared to both the wing and the 8525 the poster above is so adamitly raving about. Not only is the question somewhat a stupid one, it also brings the whole "whats better, gsm or cdma?" question with it. You can't really compared the 2 as they run on different cellular technologys. As for the answer though, as of ...

I can second that, i've had no problems with the call quality. I've lost only 1 call, and thats because in my basement i get crappy reception, no matter what phone you use or who your provider is. Hell i've been told i actually sound a bit better on their end compared to my old sanyo M1.

Yes and no. Yes this is the phone thats replacing the 6700. It is made by HTC, not ut starcomm. The 6700 really wasn't manufactured by starcomm either, it was HTC that did it. UT Starcomm did a few things to it though and re-badged it. HTC has decided as of late to come forward and make their brand name known and are forgoing having other manufactures rebadge their phones.

I love this feature, no more "tricking" the phone into using ringtones i make personally. It's so much of a hassle to have to convert a file about 3 different times to get it to the end result for 1 ringtone.

There is always the program you can get that will do it though. I have it installed on my moguls and it works perfectly. No problems with it what so ever.

The mogul also has more power under the hood in terms of a new dual-core CPU (400mhz core for pda prog and i believe it's 215mhz core just to deal with anything phone related). It also has more system memory and more system ram also so your programs can breathe a bit easier also. Not to mention this is also slightly smaller compared to the 8525.

Taken directly from this websites description of what A-GPS is. Most phones with "GPS" in fact use A-GPS technology. The "A" stands for assisted, and means that the phone relies on the network for help in determining location. Although the phone does receive GPS signals directly from the satellites, it can't determine actual location without help from the cell network. So this is what they mean by a-gps. This is how you can use telenav and garmin mobile. You still ...

So because it doesn't include an AIM client it's not perfect? Does windows xp/vista include AIM with it? No it doesn't. Microsoft has no reason to include that client with their product. They do however include their own client messenger live though, because it suits their needs.

How do i know? Spec sheets for this phone have been out for awhile now. If you look up the model number for the qualcom cpu thats in there you'll see it's a dual core cpu. 1 core at 400mhz and the other one at 215mhz or so. That 2nd one is dedicated for all actuall phone functions. The 400mhz core is for all the pda functions.

This is nothing like the 8525. It has more memory, and has an upgarded CPU. The Cpu in this thing is a dual core one vs the single core in the 8525. Dis-information is worse then no info at all my friends.

Sorry to break it to you man, your katana doesn't have "full gps capability". The gps chip in your katana is an A-GPS chip, just like the chip thats in the 755p. Way to pull info from out of nowhere.

Actually, the phone should be available to buy via telesales from sprint on December 3rd. Thats what we have all heard though on sprintusers.com. It's the retail that will be around sometime in January. Hope that all the speculation and some info from sprint employee's are right.

Well i haven't seen it on here so i thought i'd let you guys know there is a better way to upload the ringtones to your phone, it involves a lil bit of editing of the files on the phone, but it doesn't use the net. Goto this addy, read and learn. It's pretty easy to do it, just did it myself and it works. http://www.sprintusers.com/forum/showthread .php?t=91504
