Re: When can we stop asking for the Social Security Numbers?
May 18, 2006, 1:30 PM

They need to make a change in our systems that would allow the customer to enter their Soc Sec number using the touch pad that they use to enter the pin number for debit cards. That would solve asking them to say it out loud or writing it on a piece of paper.

It is difficult for all store employees to be educate on every single phone and product. Its not like we carry every phone. But I try to stay informed and knowledgeable of most products and services. If I don't know the answer to your question I will find the correct answer.

It may come as surprise to you to know that Verizon is NOT the manufacturer of your phone. So when LG, Motorola, or Samsung is no longer making the model of phone that you have then the accessories or replacement parts are no longer available. The corporate locations will have batteries on hand for 6 months to a year from the time it is no longer produced. I do my best to convince my customers at ...

A normal conversation Yes, we can transfer your phone book contacts but not your ringtones or pictures. What about games I just bought tetris for $9.99 and all those rigntones I bought, you can't transfer them? No, I'm sorry we can only transfer the contents of the phonebook. NOT the games, pictures or ringtones. So my pictures are lost you can't transfer them? NO, WE CAN ONLY TRANSFER THE CONTENTS OF YOUR PHONEBOOK. Well, that doesn't seem right.

I understand what you are going through. I have given up trying to sell text to them. But I still can sell pis. There are a couple of things that work. Or make an album with other ...

Do you still use a 486 computer?
May 11, 2006, 12:42 AM
in the Verizon forum

Do you honestly think that VZW should carry accessories for your handset indefinitely? You yourself said your phone is 2 1/2 years old. Cell phones age as fast as computers. What you buy today is outdated tomorrow. You state that your cheapest option is $127. I assume you are wanting to buy a phone without signing a new contract. If you sign a new contract there are 2 or 3 phones that are ...

You know what she's right. I'm going to go to my Ford dealership tomorrow and demand that they buy me a new car. I've been their customer for over ten years and I think they owe me something. Or should I demand that my Allstate insurance agent buy me a car?

I would think that would be most valued! If I have someone shopping different ...

My feedback is my humble opinion. When we received the PN-215 early in the 4th quarter of last year I had no idea who they were. Like you I learned they were #2 in Korea. We offered a buy one get one free on the 215 through the holidays. I usually judge a phone by how many we have to warranty exchange or 'FRU' out. I have to admit that we have had ...

My best guess for a concerned parent will be the next month or so. The on-line training course just became available for the retail employees this week. When there is a product training it is usually 3 or 4 weeks until launch.

Do the other carriers have warrenty replacements?
May 6, 2006, 4:24 PM
in the Verizon forum

Do the other guys have warranty replacements that they swap out for their customers? I see a lot of complaining about VZW testing of phones. I'm sure this is to help minimize the amount of warranty replacements that they have to make in the stores. Imagine if VZW did NOT have the warranty replacements available. You would have to send your phone to the manufacturer and wait 6-8 weeks for them to repair it.

Don't panic.

Don't worry they won't be turning off your analog signal. It will be converted to digital. The plan with all wireless carriers is to turn the analog to digital or whatever they use. The FCC says they have to leave it on until the end of 2006 or early 2007 I'm not sure on the exact date of that. The bottom line is the old analog is not cost effective to maintain. It ...

I can't tell you how many times a day I hear this from customers. They call customer service and are told that they MUST have a trimode phone. It is Verizon policy to let anyone out of a contract if they are in the military and are being stationed out of the country. We have it happen almost everyday at my store. They only need to provide a copy of the orders and we disconnect them and waive the ETF. In some cases they are only going to be gone for 6 months so they call customer service and do a suspension instead so ...

I recently read this in another thread. At least 10 are people I didn't even sell. But I will "sell" them a used phone for 50 bucks, but give their 50 back to them when they come in a upgrade through me. Is this a common practice in most indirects? At the store the system requires that we put a PDA on a data plan. Either 1. pay as you go 2. 10 mb plan, or 3. unlimited data plan. My question to you and many other customers is why spend the money on a PDA if you don't plan to use the PDA to its fullest?

Apr 18, 2006, 2:09 PM

Verizon Wireless is ultimately a wireless provider. We sell phones as convenience to our customers. You are free to purchase a phone where and how you like it without contract. E-bay, indirect, or stores. If you would like for your convenience we will sell you a phone at a greatly reduced price if you will commit to being our customer for 1 or 2 years. Once that is completed you can purchase another phone at ...

Not going to be a problem. When a phone is water damaged I'm going to tell them to take it to Wal-Mart. They take back everything even when its not theirs and you don't need a receipt. Same for Costco.

It DOES void your warrenty.
Apr 18, 2006, 2:00 PM

Sorry to tell you this. But ANY damage caused by a car charger to a phone and/or battery will void the warranty. At the corporate stores we will NOT replace anything if the damage is caused by a VPC that was purchased anywhere other than the store or telesales. That includes indirect sales of car chargers. Its up to you guys to exchange your own accessories under warranty. You don't take your TV ...
