So let’s get this straight! You are saying “DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE!!!” just because it doesn’t work with T-mobile? Not because there is something wrong with it, like some kind of security or browser function has some defect. Do you post “DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE!!!” on every CDMA device because they don’t work on T-mobile?!?!? Why not say if you are a T-mobile customer don’t buy this phone, instead of making a lame blanket statement?!?!?! I have t-mobile, but just ...

I agree Monterey is a challenged area for T-mo. I was just stating that for the most part, T-mo has a stronger foot print in Cali than AT&T. Every carrier has areas they can improve. also the Monterey area is a challenge for most carriers because of the mountainous terrain for that region.

I really dont think you travel to LA or SF that much. T-mo has a really strong foot print in those areas. It is way stronger than AT&T & Sprint in those markets. That is fact. The rest of the country I cant speak for, but I can speak for those 2 markets as I have worked on both of those makets wireless networks. Dont get it wrong, I'm not attacking you, I just know both of those markets ...

I agree with you for the most part, but I think they will get rid of the dead weight employees during this transition. Making it look as if they were being fair. When the truth is, they were planning on getting rid of those employees anyways.

@ John, I agree with you. Even if they do create jobs, they will only be short term jobs, until both networks are merged together. Then they will quietly get rid of those employees, or make some false claim that they need to lay for some reason or another.

I agree with you for the most part, but on the West Coast T-Mo has a really strong coverage base. they are using the old AT&T wireless network that was sold to them by Cingular. I know in other parts of the country coverage is a major issue. Although Coverage is a major factor, a lot of T-mo customer's left for an I-phone also.

I agree with you. Although I would like T-mo to stay around, I would hope AT&T won't be apart of T-mo's future. (Wishful thinking on my part.) If AT&T becomes successful with merging with T-mo, it would not be a total loss for the Job market. However, Jobs will be lost.

I somewhat agree. I don’t think he will do anything, but rather let this issue be handled in the court system. I really don’t believe or hope this merger will go through. I would like T-mo to stay independent.

I just wanted to add to your point. Unless they are within 12 feet of the actual antenna, (that’s bit of a climb) the radiation from the cell site will have no affect. And even then, you will feel the effects of radiation sickness.(Headache,Nausea, and even hot flashes) you would pretty much know to get away from it.

I agree with Phoneman J that it would be a better transition to have both GSM networks under 1 company, As T-mobile has bought most of the Old AT&T wireless network. That being said, Sprint would have ran the T-mobile network into the ground. Sprint purchasing T-mobile would have destroyed them. Sprint can barely take care of the 2 networks they have now, so adding a 3rd would have been an end for both companies. Dont get me wrong, ...

The only good thing I can find should this deal go through, is AT&T has some of the best cell site techs in the industry. They also have some of the worst management in the industry. Since most(On the West Coast) of T-mo's network came from AT&T Wireless, the same techs that built that network are with AT&T(Cingular) now. And to have them work on them working on that network now, would not be a bad thing. But that ...

The only problem with your assessment, is that the FCC has very strict rules about tracking mobile devices without consent. Only the owner of such a device can authorize any consent for tracking. I doubt much will really happen here, other than Apple & Google change some of their tracking policy's. Companies Like Telenav & Actsoft abide by these laws with the wireless carriers to protect themselves from such lawsuits.

For you than Google Nav is great! as I stated before, it is great for the occasional user such as yourself. Other people need a more Robust GPS application on their phones. Sprint Navigation & AT&T Navigation are both made by Telenav. & from what it sounds like, would be a wireless coverage issue, & not a GPS issue. Telenav Supoorts Sprint/Nextel, AT&T,T-mobile & Verizon. Only for supported devices. Also, if you travel outside of your zone on Tom Tom or Garmin, you need to download the mapping info for that particular zone. With Telenav, VZ Nav & Google, you dont need to. Actually AT&T/Navigon software only uses AGPS/cell towers on the majority of feature phones and many ATT smart phones. Anyhow, Google nav will use satellites when available, GPS accuracy is a hardware/firmware attribute, not software. Your somewhat correct with how AGSP works on AT&T. The GPS data for AT&T (Telenav) data is from the satellites, & the mapping data is being sent via the data network from the carriers. When Google does put it out, I dont think it will really bother them. Googles GPS is OK, but Tom Tom, Garmin & AT&T Nav (Telenav) are rated way above Googles GPS. Also Google uses Cell Site tracking & not the GPS satelites Tom Tom, Garmin & Telenav uses.
