Earpiece static when I speak

With each spoken word I can here a short burst of static in the earpiece. No static when the other party is speaking. An otherwise fine device but this is quite distracting when I am talking. I have the earpiece volume 3/4 of the way up.
Any ideas?

Hey Patrioticgal,
I'll take a Bold or curve any day over the Chinese made lemon iPhone. My wife and I went through 7 iPhones and never got through the issues and lack of features and support, let alone poor reception, dismal speaker phone, no MMS, no cut & paste.... Keep your iPhone toy.

They are good looking. But still crippled with VZW ugly UI.
I'll stick to my choice of unlocked, unbranded, easily swappable via SIM phones all day long.
Plus....Verizon coverage in Charlotte NC all but disappeared.

I ported from VZW and couldn't be happier. But you are correct about being the minority.
Remember though that AT&T is getting their $hit together and will put some pressure on VZW down the road.

I looked at 4 in my hands, and settled on the one I felt had the least amount of creaking and squeaking in my hand and returned it 15 hours later because I couldn't stand the tactile feedback any longer.

I have the V9 from AT&T and it is awesome!!! Extremely fast, crystal clear sound, reception like I have never seen in 11 years at VZW.

Major reception issues starting in Charlotte NC too...
You are not alone with sudden reception issues. We have had 2 trouble tickets started with no help in the matter.
We are forced to try another carrier to see if that makes a difference.
My friend in Buffalo NY also said he can no longer use his VZW phone where he lives....

Since so many including PC mag. and myself cannot tolerate your UI why not offer us...yes thats right the customer you have been crippling for years now, the option to choose in Tools & Settings which interface we want??? Leave the factory unbranded version in the phone and somewhere in the hidden menu put your heinous version of a cell phone user interface in there.
OR.....just make it easy on yourself and sell one phone, that's essentially what you are ...
Dust under Curve display?
I would get the Curve but have heard after just a few days LOTS of dust somehow gets under display. Is ther a fix to prevent this? I might call BB and ask tomorrow.
They must really suck now....
I have two great friends, one was recently fired after many great years of service, very faithful. My other friend is leaving any week now because of what you mentioned.
I as a customer and extremely done with them for two reasons. The UI. The coverage is dissipating fast where I live, not the verizon I was subscribed to years back.
VZW phones are terrible....
Again I don't mean to PO anybody here, that is very easy to do online but my wife and I and I just learned today my parents are not entirely thrilled lately either with too much from Verizon.
Coverage in Charlotte NC has taken a HUGE nosedive. I created a "trouble ticket" and after a few days Verizon did call me back to say we "now" live in a marginal area with no plans for improvements through 2008!! $hit, ...
Spot Wave Signal Booster??
Hi,
Just saw the banner ad on Phone Scoops home page. Has anyone got any experience with this system. It costs $399. Is it a repeater? My VZW signal is plain terrible and VZW said they have no plans to do anything about it through 2008 after I opened a trouble ticket.
If this Spot Wave Signal Booster works I'll buy it, if not may have to leave VZW.

Back when VZW had the E815 I went through no less than 8 of them due to shoddy build quality, displays going black, hinges failing, creaky poor tactile feeling, just plain poor quality, same with Q also....pure $hit.
iPhone has SERIOUS volume issues
Wished it didn't, but every single one I have sampled I couldn't hear well at all with.
I even went to an AT&T store and the signal strength on all 3 iPhones was 1 bar to no bars. No other phone in the store had this poor of a signal.

I appreciate your response. Sadly though I just cannot hear well enough using the iPhone on it's highest setting, and when I slightly move the earpiece on my ear I cannot hear at all, seems my ear actually blocks the speaker opening.
I fly jets for a living and according to our companies flight surgeon my hearing is perfect.

I could just barely hear the 3 test calls I made to 611. I then called my wife and had to end the call, I could barely hear her. I tried another iPhone in the store and it was the same.
Really the only fault I saw with the phone.

I'm really tired of having to be the first and getting burned. Bought the Panasonic Blu Ray player at $1,000. 3 months later it's $600 and still relatively new technology.
When the iPhone is released with 3G, flash for camera and higher res., and removable battery I'm a buyer.

I still have Verizon, but I use an Alltel KRZR on VZW system. I FLAT OUT REFUSE to purchase another VZW phone with their UI.

Why are so many calls going directly to my voice mail?
I have called VZW for the last time. I come here in hopes for an answer.
I have tried E815, 8300, KRZR.
So far the KRZR seems to be the best but I have missed 3 calls today that went directly to VM. I am in Charlotte NC, I have had no less than 4 bars and an EV-DO signal. My phones have all had latest software, *228 update, yada yada. I have seen a DRAMATIC DECREASE in Verizon call quality ...

I bought the KRZR from Alltel and activated it on VZW. No delay or UGLY POORLY designed UI. Fantastic.
Take it back and buy an Alltel KRZR...

Hi everyone,
I bought a KRZR at Alltel today and took it to my VZW location where the awesome techs/friends set it up for me.
The only thing they couldn't do at the moment is the PRL number. They need the software update? to put the correct PRL number in the phone. So I will keep checking back.
Otherwise it works beautifully. I bought the Alltel version because I CANNOT TOLLERATE THE VZW U.I.!!!!!!!!! (pay attention vzw)

How does Alltel differ from VZW??
Alltel's coverage actually looks better. Both use CDMA but the best part is Alltel doesn't infringe on your rights by destroying your phones UI and crippling bluetooth.
Any thoughts?
