Wifi on saves battery

I found out about this trick from cnet, I actually tried it on my incredible as well and it works. Leaving the wifi on while at home does indeed help with the battery life on the pre.

I had the droid. unless you really want to have a larger screen i would get the ally over the droid.

I've heard that it doesn't work with the phone opened. The Env and Env2 both didn't work with the phone closed as well.

Not that I know of but you can erase your yahoo login information so the client isn't able to log you in all the time. It's in the mobile im settings i think otherwise just do a reset of the phone itself.

Well, from what it seems you don't need a data package for this phone. I activated it online and had the option for pay as you go data. You can block text messages from your my verizon account online or by calling customer service. As far as blocking incoming calls I don't believe that is possible but I could be wrong.

in the Samsung Omnia i910 forum

Honestly. I'm having a hard time with this phone. I make many typos. It's just too small. The funny thing is though is that the Samsung Eternity, which looks much like this phone but isn't a smartphone has a better keyboard than what they put on this one. If you have larger fingers I wouldn't recommend this one, it also isn't the most touch responsive phone I've used, sometimes you need to click something ...

It requires a bit a hard press. I would tap it with the stylus pen and leave it there a bit firmly for 3 seconds until the + moves to another spot.

I was really looking forward to upgrading to this phone. But after watching the reviews and reading new information I am sorely disappointed. Verizon first lost the Iphone because of their greed and now their greed is costing them from giving their customers an Iphone killer. They told Rim they didn't want Wifi (probably for some reason that could have given customers something for free), they did not include the youtube app that the Vodaphone customers ...

Dumb of At&t to get rid of 200 texts with the plan
Jul 6, 2008, 8:34 AM
in the Apple iPhone 3G forum

For $20 it was a great deal with the old iphone. It was their Sidekick plan. Data and some text. Now you have to pay $30 a month which is the same price that Verizon charges for all their smartphones/blackberries and you don't get any text messages. I think they should have kept it at a great deal and not conform it to what you get with other companies. I understand 3g and the ...

Should have free email option
May 4, 2008, 2:30 PM
in the LG enV2 (VX-9100) forum

Verizon should give the option to have email use text messages instead or pay $5 a month. Even Virgin Mobile gives you free email app that only uses text messages. It would be a great option for people that want to use the email app but don't use it that much and want to use a real program instead of text email.

Re: are there compatability issues with 1gb microsd?
Jan 27, 2008, 7:11 PM
in the Samsung SCH-A950 forum

Well, I tried out my 1gb card again, it shows the mp3s but I have issues while trying to play them, I have to skip to the next track and go back to the previous to play the song I want. I just put my 256 card back in again, I have an ipod already so it's not a big deal for me. Prehaps it's the brand I am using for my 1gb, Kingston, I don't know.

Jan 27, 2008, 2:59 AM

I have read that people have used a 1gb card, but I used one and my mp3s wouldn't show up on the phone, then while trying to record video i would get that camera error you mentioned after 8 seconds of recording. I swapped it out with an old 256mb card and it works flawlessly. There definitely was an issue, and I doubt anymore firmware releases will happen being Verizon discontinued the phone. I had this ...

They just lowered their personal blackberry data/email plan to $29.99 a month. I don't know if that is what you are looking for or if that's a good price compared to the other companies.

Yes that is what is going on now. I've already written to Verizon complaining about this as suggested by someone I know in the VCC, I suggest if anyone else is annoyed by this to complain as well.

Re: Well...

If someone is mad, why can't they make a comment about it? The USA makes a big deal about freedom of speech, but I rarely see it available on message boards. Verizon isn't perfect, if they were they would be the only wireless carrier and there wouldn't be many other customers to all the other carriers. The person may be wrong or right and of course go argue about it but they have a right to ...

Are these two problems bugs?
Jul 16, 2007, 10:10 PM
in the LG VX-8550 Chocolate forum

Two problems with the phone I have noticed so far. 1) I have my number always blocked, my phonebook entries all have *82 before their number. When I get a call their phonebook name isn't showing up, only the phone number. It seems that the *82 is causing the phone to think another person who isn't in my phonebook is calling me, I've never had this problem before with a phone, so I'm really hoping a fix will come out ...

I haven't seen an LG for Verizon since I've signed up with them years ago that lets you use the speakerphone with the phone closed so I wouldn't count on it :(

I doubt it, from all the specs I've seen I haven't read anything about Verizon keeping the radio.

It's the new type of display themes that the phone can support, macromedia flash made themes, they are somewhat animated, and make the phone look much more different than just changing the color of the bars.

All the samsungs I have bought (different carriers not just t-mobile) have all had horrible reception/zero bars on one of them lol/dropped calls. Actually I had an lg 6100 and the reception was excellent. I have heard that certain phones work better in different states, for me samsungs are awful where i live but i've read that people from the midwest get great reception with them.

Aug 8, 2006, 1:48 PM

That is what I had thought at first, what made me question this was that it only has a gap on the bottom left corner and not any other part of the phone.

Is my 8500 broken or is this normal?
Aug 8, 2006, 10:53 AM
in the LG VX-8500 Chocolate forum

When the phone is closed, on the bottom right side there is a gap between the keypad and top of the phone and i can press them together, however the rest of the phone is tightly together and there is no gap you can press together. Is this normal or is everyone else's phone firmly in place with no gap? I want to make sure my slider is not breaking apart. Thank you.

Re: MP3 player help!!!
Jun 19, 2006, 10:30 AM
in the LG VX-8300 forum

Because of the silly Verizon music service they by default only allow wma files to play on the phone, so Mp3's will not be recognized. To turn on Mp3 abilities you must press menu, 0, 000000, and go to number 11 Music Setting and choose Mp3 Enable.

Handsfree Problems
Jun 13, 2006, 4:18 PM
in the LG VX-8300 forum

I have stereo handsfree headphones that I've used with a few different phones to listen to mp3s and talk to people. When I plug it into the 8300 the music sounds all distorted and while on a call the person can't hear me. Does this phone take a special kind of stereo handsfree?

I hope that this can be fixed with a software update. I can't hear people with my bluetooth headset h500! Their voice cuts in and out and there is static.
