if they have only a million listeners and 4% of those listeners have to pay $0.99 per month to listen to all the music they want, that's $39,600 per month ($475,200 per year) in additional revenue .. pulling in an extra half million is good business.

Company A tries to gain advantage over Company B Company B is just as bad if not worse than Company A fans of both companies sling mud at each other in an endless loop trying to gain some imagined moral high ground in an immitation of both Company A and B all the while having the gall to prentend their above it. boring.

as an extra step, i think we should just ban cars altogether .. 3,000 deaths attributed to cell phone use is nothing compared to the millions of deaths the depletion of the ozone will cause. if the Government were truly interested in protecting us, they would take care of the REAL problem.

Feb 23, 2012, 3:34 PM
in the Article: Samsung Brings Android to Rugby Line forum

i'm sure when the device was being developed, Android 2.3 was just becoming available to most Samsung devices... regardless, i agree that Google needs to step in to streamline the process....if your device is shipping with antiquated software, there should be an expectation set (and subsequently kept) of when a software update to the latest version will roll out .. crack that whip!

you may do this, but most don't...i can't count how many times i've been run into by people with their faces stuck to their phone or in the case of the IT department, phones... genius idea if you ask me. which you didn't. so i'll be quiet now.

Re: Bandwidth management
Feb 7, 2012, 10:12 AM
in the Article: AT&T to Top 5 Percenters: We Warned You forum

using your phone is one thing...using it as your primary source of internet, relying solely on the network to download/seed torrents, stream television shows and other extremely data intensive activities is a whole other arguement.

Re: Bandwidth management
Feb 7, 2012, 10:07 AM
in the Article: AT&T to Top 5 Percenters: We Warned You forum

charging you extra doesn't magically make up that extra bandwidth, but it does act as a detterent to stay within your allotted amount... i'm sure AT&T would send the goons out to break your knuckles if they could, but hitting you in the wallett is really one of the best methods available...

Re: Screw you AT&T!
Feb 6, 2012, 5:14 PM
in the Article: AT&T to Top 5 Percenters: We Warned You forum

in actuality, there was no mention made of the charges associated with exceeding a capped data plan in the orignal post.... i'm not so much concerned about my credibility as i am with pointing something out.

Re: Bandwidth management
Feb 6, 2012, 5:04 PM
in the Article: AT&T to Top 5 Percenters: We Warned You forum

they are throttling existing Unlimited plans....not capped plans. some of the top 5% of users are using their phone as their primary form of internet...while most may use less than 2gb per month (even those on Unlimited plans) , some of these people are using that and even more per day... think of torrents, streaming, downloads...the list goes on. while the markup on data / texts is outrageous to begin with, it's highly unlikely that this is aimed to save money ...

Re: Screw you AT&T!
Feb 6, 2012, 4:59 PM
in the Article: AT&T to Top 5 Percenters: We Warned You forum

to be fair, you did say: Why can't AT&T and Verizon do what T-Mobile does. Instead of capping, just slow down the users speed. besides, your rant about data limits is a bit off topic....just sayin' is all.

Re: they're not kidding.
Jan 4, 2012, 10:18 AM
in the Article: Android 4.0 Requires Holo Theme to Be Available On All Phones forum

let me give you the shortened version: fragmentation exists due to Android phones being released with antiquated versions of the OS loaded on it and rarely, if ever, receiving updates to the most current version. although most consumers wouldn't notice this and wouldn't care even if they did, saying fragmentation doesn't exist doesn't make it not exist.

Sep 13, 2011, 9:12 AM
in the Article: Lawmakers Want to Know Why DoJ Objected to AT&T/T-Mobile Deal forum

is that because AT&T can afford to splash out more money or because all other carriers care more about the enviroment, medicare, social security, women, workers and consumers...

Re: Create New AT&T Jobs?!?!
Sep 13, 2011, 9:06 AM
in the Article: Lawmakers Want to Know Why DoJ Objected to AT&T/T-Mobile Deal forum

with all due respect, predicting what a company the size of AT&T will or will not do is this side short of impossible .. in the current economy and with the focus firmly on creating American jobs in America, if AT&T were to not follow through (at least partially) on their pledge, the backlash against the company would be enormous .. that's not to say that most people don't have the attention spans / memories of fruit flies but i would ...

so....no 32gb model?
Aug 30, 2011, 7:46 PM
in the Article: Samsung Galaxy S II Coming To AT&T, T-Mobile forum

ok, 16gb is a lot of room when you take into account the SD card slot but i was ready to upgrade if the 32gb model rolled into AT&T .. 64gb of available memory? now that would have been amazing.

Aug 11, 2011, 1:46 PM
in the Article: HTC Invests $300M in Beats by Dr. Dre to Improve Audio forum

this is just speculation at this point but i'm sure this will allow HTC phones to use audio drivers (or amp) written / produced by Beats to improve the sound quality .. i would assume this would work the same way that Voodoo Sound does for Android phones... which begs the question, why not just hire SuperCurio?

Perhaps this is why I don't sell, nor will I my Blackberry. and when the first Blackberry virus hits you'll be doing what? don't get me wrong, i'm not trying to downplay or criticize your concern; far from it .. but to think that one smartphone software / manufacturer will be immune from what is no doubt the wave of the future is short sighted ...

Dec 30, 2010, 4:17 PM

i'm astounded anyone is surprised by this .. just another excuse for another round of Android vs iOS handbags.... i do most of my banking, keep credit card / financial information and tons of work stuff on my phone .. why wouldn't someone want to hack it? smartphones are the new computers and those who choose to make a living taking advantage of others are going to find more creative ways to do so .. give it another year or two ...

Feb 8, 2007, 2:15 PM
in the HTC TyTN / 8525 / JasJam (Hermes) forum

i am almost 100% positive i am going to purchase some variant of the HTC TYTN (either the 8525 or the JasJam) and was wondering if "Open Office" has a mobile application compatible with this device .. my office is moving away from the Microsoft based utilities and (as most "progressive" companies are) embracing open source .. if this device cannot support it, i think i may need to re-consider my choice .. cheers.

i agree .. i think this phone targets exactly who Virigin wants to target with it .. teens with jobs and spoiled teens who's parents buy them anything to shut them up .. besides that, us adults who will not be tied down in a rediculously long contract just to recieve $50 off a phone (my girlfriend says i have "commitment issues) will also be drawn to pre-paid service (Virgin, in my humble opinion, being the best pre-paid service ...
