What's funny to me is that the Rezound sports superior specs and is on sale right now for $100.00 less. What gives? I have used most of the Verizon 4G phones and keep coming back to my Rezound. When it comes to this phone, I hav one thing to say... "PASS"

You are absolutely right on this. The amount of bars on a phone is dictated by the firmware. Samsung has always seemed to be a bit higher on the signal settings. I have an 8100 and travel all over Arizona and have not dropped any calls. Most cell phone distributers can hack in to the firmware and make the signal seem higher.

Why Qualcomm Has Its Wallet Out The Elata and Flarion acquisitions reflect the outfit's need to keep abreast of tech's latest trends. Expect more of the same Qualcomm (QCOM ) is on its biggest buying spree in five years. On Aug. 17, the wireless technology powerhouse acquired Britain-based software startup Elata for $57 million in cash. A few days earlier, it plunked down $600 million in cash and stock for Flarion, a U.S.-based wireless network-technology outfit. And many analysts expect ...

Let me start by saying, as an indirect I take no offense to what you said. I understand your gripe however here are a few things to ponder: 1. However silly this may sound, VZW requires all of it's indirects to be incorporated. Hence the "Corporate store" mentality. Regardless of whether or not it is VZW Corp or Joe Schmoe Inc. 2. I have worked in both Corp and indirect stores and truth be told... Most of the time it's the ...

Re: Verizon's System? Will it remain CDMA of be forced to GSM?

in the Rumor Mill forum

Besides, if GSM is SO great why does the US Military use CDMA exclusively? Could it be for signal security? Call quality? Efficiency? Network? Data rates? The only reason that GSM is so large in the rest of the world is because it was the first multi national system and the european government decided that in order to have a system they could call their own, they would pass a bill blocking any new technologies from developing. Luckily countries ...

When it comes to VZW I read that as of 2003 every tower that had VZw digital equipment on it was owned by Vzw. Yes they still have roaming partners for AMPS, but whenever you are in a VZW Digital area you are on VZW equipment. When your phone says switching service it is only because the digital sgnals travel too fast to go around some objects. this is true for any carrier. Hence the fact that there ...

Here Here VZWGAL21! You are my new hero. I believe you have just stated what we all have been thinking. So, on anbother note... How about that EVDO expansion? Is that great or what? VZW truly is the greatest carrier out there!

Hey Sammy2, Have you ever actually read your contract? According to the contract you have already requested information on other services provided by VZW that pertain to the service you currently have. IF the text involved your home landline than you would have a case. This is how it is an opt out service. You opted in when you signed the VZW contract. Don't be fooled though. This clause is written in every carriers contract. Isn't fine print wonderful?

When it comes to bluetooth you have a few options. To have it built into the phone is very nice. There are also bluetooth headsets that have an adapter that plugs into the headset jack of the phone. The price on these kits has come down quite a bit in the past year. If a kit will work for you, than I highly recommend the LG VX-7000. I have had one since they were first released about a year ago ...

As strange as it may sound, it really depends on what part of the country you live in. I reside in the southwest and so far the least problematic phones seem to be the new LG. When I say LG I don't just mean the 8100. If you had asked me 2 years ago I would have told you to stay as far away from the LG product as possible. Lately they have been putting out a great product ...

No idea. I'd Imagine it will be in the same neighborhood as the i700. $300 - $600. We will have to wait and see. I like the idea of a Pocket Pc with BB functionality. The size is just about the same as the Tre 650.

Hey NYCMAL, Thanks for the response on the 7100 phonebook by the way. As far as the BB7100 on VZW, still no word that I have seen. Have you looked in to the future Samsung i730? It is Pocket PC that is in testing by VZW. What is unique is that it supports EVDO and also incorporates the BB Mail Client. I have done a comparison on it and it is roughly the same size as the Treo 650. I ...
