I haven't worked for T-Mo in the past 2 years, so I can't explain your general customer service issues. I know that when I left, they were training all entire call centers to troubleshoot Blackberries and PDA devices since more basic consumers were purchasing them. I can only imagine it's been more of a problem since Android. It could be that they're having problems training quality reps. As far as hearing Spanish in the background, the call ...

What an extremely mature response. You shouldn't be so rude right after you bragged that you work for the company. There are other ways of letting the customer know that you're on their side on the issue.

Yes, there are celebrities with T-Mobile service. Yes, Paris has a Sidekick that was hacked a few years back and tons of her dirty little pictures were posted on the web for all to see. Celebs need cell phone service, too, and just like everyone else, have different providers based on their personal needs.

Seriously, I used to think that you were smart, but you either have some horrible reading comprehension, or have come to believe that you are so smart, you only have to pay attention to half the post to understand it. It is NOT THE SAME MODEL of phone used, it is THE SAME PHONE. T-Mobile doesn't have software updates available for handsets like RAZRs, so if you're thinking they downloaded some update to get it to work ...

One of my friends took a call from some guy whose dog had eaten and "passed" his phone. He wanted a new phone, for free. Of course, we wouldn't exchange it. The thing was, he actually qualified in the upgrade program for a phone for 19.99 with a $20 rebate on it. He just didn't believe he should pay ANYTHING for a new phone, even if he was going to get his money back. ...

I know that trick to actually calculate what the customer is paying during the outage. I first saw it in 2001 when I did customer service for a DVR company, and an Account Specialist calculated what a credit would be on a $10/mo service for one weekend. One of my friends was so amused when I told him about it that he started giving that break down to his customers. But I'm not talking about monetary ...

Bonus minutes cost the company pennies. With T-Mobile, if network outages happen, we're supposed to offer at least 50 bonus minute depending on how long the issue has been going on and say that they're worth $20 (according to overages) but they really don't cost the company all that much, and most people don't end up using the bonus minutes, anyway. It's a nice goodwill gesture, though. And Jennifer wouldn't be the first person to disagree ...

Re: switching phone numbers
Oct 1, 2007, 10:53 PM

You won't be able to switch the contracts on the 2 phone numbers. Each line has a contract that it agreed to and needs to be upheld. The most they would be able to do would be to switch the phone numbers on the different sims, but then each line would still have the original plan and contract.

You just answered your own question. You don't like the gold, but you do like the blue one. Different people have different preferences. There are people out there who don't give 2 cents about your opinion on the gold, and love it. When we just had the white and black, I had people complaining that we weren't carrying the red like at&t was. People like variety.

It was a perfectly reasonable answer to the question. The question didn't really give enough detail to give a truly satisfactory answer. Where does the person live/work? Maybe the signal for either carrier is horrible where the OP lives. What kind of features/phones does the OP need? A more detailed question would have produced a better answer.

I used to work for SprintPCS and from the inside, I felt that the Customer Service was horrible. On the first call I was monitored on, they were amazed that I was actually NICE to the customer. I didn't do anything special, I just sounded pleasant. Shouldn't that be the absolute minimum? Their monitoring system was "hit or miss." But it didn't matter if you "missed" or gave misinformation. Your bonus wasn't based ...

There is no "one-size fits all" carrier. Period. Alltel is a pretty good regional carrier. But it's features/coverage is not going to work for everyone. T-Mobile is a pretty good national carrier. But it's not going to work for everyone. Just choose whichever carrier that works best for you. It might not be T-Mobile, but that's ok. Europe DOES have a blacklist, but those theives can just sell the phones on eBay to countries that DON'T blacklist, eg: USA.
