The data is right. If you are in a term now, they will let you out with no fee. Just need a new 2 year agree. Chat online and talked to a local store, both say the same thing. I have a smartphone now, and the price for our family account will not change they told me. BUT, they did not know if I would have the 1500 text that I have now.

EVDO does rule. To bad USCC has no plans to roll it out soon. Guess the folks in the little old test market can have some fun! Sprint really does have a strong data system. Too bad they cant get anything else right :)

Yes, it will work. Text will be just fine. EasyEdge and Picture Messaging will not for the most part. Very hard to get it to work at least. But...might be a little hard to get someone to act. it for you. Could just call into a store or customer care and give them a ESN. Will have to lie about where the phone is from.

Alltel is a big partner. They have the largest coverage. Sprint is also a roaming partner. Verizon also uses Alltel. So its one of them things that we all get about the same signal now. I really don't see a huge differace between them anymore.

All you have to do is hit a side button and it will bring up the outside display. There is no way to keep it on all the time. Its a different display then your old 6100. Sorry.

Can't say this to be true. I get it when a person calls me on a land line, and I will be inside my house, or in my office.
I guess its a GSM thing then, and it sucks! Can't see how people can handle that. Oh well, back to CDMA I guess.

My current phone is a HTC 3125, and I also used a Blackjack for about 45 days. Both phones have this "wind" type noise when I talk on them. (No, I am not outside) It's hard to really explain...like a shhhhh sound. It comes and goes on all my calls. This is my first GSM phone so I am not sure what it is.

Thou I have been here for years, it still amazes me how far behind the 8-ball USCC is in phone releases. And…let not jump on the “phones are tested longer” bull crap. We all know this is not true.
USCC would gain a much better market share, and win back many customers if they just jump in once in a while and get a new cool phone before someone else did, or at the very least, ...

As for the rep asking you "personal and irrelevant questions" I am sure she was just trying to help figure out how long you will be gone.
As for you canceling due to a "contract change", not sure what you are talking about here. There has been no change in your terms that would allow you to get out without a ETF.
And the roaming is a normal cost. Its printed on your map rate sheet. ...

Ya, its been August for some time. has not changed. See my other post for price. My guess it will be mid to late, as that is normally when you see phones come out.

The ROKR was always scheduled to be released in October. Not sure where you got the August date from. And normally phones are released mid to late in the month.

Biz Discounts
I was told by our AAE that USCC was going to come out with Military and Company discounts. Much like Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint do. He said it was July when it launches. Just wondering if anyone knows more on this. Have many customers on the fence for us, but get 20%+ off there monthly bill at other companies.

Just hit EBay. You will see it on there very soon after release. And they run about 1/2 off the retail price in the store. All my phones have come from EBay. I have been doing it now for 3 years. Just make sure it's US Cellular! Take it in and boom, new phone. Transfer over your phone book and you are all set. Not worries, no cost, and no contract!

Its all over USCC now. Came out the other day. It will be out 8-1 or so. Its all done testing. Just need to wait till the orders are filled. Will be $180.00 it looks like with a $80 rebate. Will need to have the data to get full rebate I am sure.

It's a caned message. You will ONLY use data when using our data network, this being Easyedge. Other providers like Verizon use airtime, but not us! So add on Unlimited Easyedge for $9.95 and surf away!

Project Everest started about a year ago. It is going to change the main price plans for USCC. They have been playing around with it for some time. It is not "secret" at all. You just need to know where to look, aka google. come on, they are publicly traded, you can find anything about them!

You can use a USB cable and transfer mp3 and wav files to your phone for free. I know the 6100, 6000, and all the motos (262,265-66,710) have it in them. Just need the cable from radioshack, like $20 and the free software. I do it all the time. I can't see the reason to pay for a ringtone. Guess I am cheap. You can also transfer pic's and lots of other things with the software/cable combo!
