Interesting. I hadn't heard of having to return my equipment. I may put up a fight on this one. I can sell my iPhone 4S for more than the $100 my ETF is. I've paid 3 years and have maybe been able to use 1GB during that whole entire time due to their incredibly slow speeds. I'll call 'em up tomorrow and see what they say.

I didn't read this anywhere, but I've had to reset my phone a few times since I've had it. I currently live in an area not serviced by Sprint, and before I could use my phone, I'd have to be on the Sprint network and have a data connection. Going through my AIRAVE wouldn't even work.
I think there's a patch to get around this, but again, don't want to have to mess with that in the event ...

What does Apple have to do with this? While I admit Palm had some capital issues when dealing with webOS, specifically getting it on decent hardware, HP just dragged their feet and did everything not to get webOS out there.
There's a huge following to Palm/webOS, even after they've been given the shaft for the past 6 years. Long wait times between updated hardware. Updates to software that never show.

If I go in interested in upgrading, and I start asking questions, I expect honest and accurate answers. If I see they're either lying or don't know what they're talking about, and then they start moving on when I tell them I'm not sure about which I want, I take my business elsewhere.

So you're telling me that there is absolutely no money that gets funneled to a corporate owned Sprint store from any outside sources, either rebates from manufacturers or even from Sprint itself?
Either way, the average customer doesn't care. They see Sprint on their bill they pay each month and a big Sprint sign outside this store. They expect to be helped, assisted, and serviced by them.
Again, maybe that's why their customer service ranks so low, because workers ...

It can be done at BB or RS, but I usually have to wait in line to do that. Normally though, I either know the same or more than the Sprint sales person, so I don't bother asking them any questions. I'll just go in, tell the girl at the counter (who almost always never answers then phone when I've called) I'm there to look.

Are you sure about that? I just ran the Updates app on my Sprint Pre and was told I'm up to date with 1.4.1.1.
From other sites that I've read, 1.4.5 was pushed out to a European carrier (maybe Asian, somewhere far away) and that was it. Sprint is supposed to get 1.4.5.1 July 7, in the evening.

That's what I thought. I actually bought the thing on eBay one of my first nights here. When you call them, they give you the run around. Most of them told me it had to connect to towers, which I promptly told them that was bull squeeze.

I do have to agree with you, that is an absurd amount of money. I will say that I don't know how much all that equipment would cost. I would assume you probably only need enough on hand to cover 2 zones, with maybe a 20 mile radius.
I do have a feeling that this is kind of like Sprint asking for a bailout in disguise. At least they have a quasi-legitimate reason behind it.

I have never used a palm product on my Mac. I've always used Missing Sync. It's a more seamless and seems to be a more quality product. I hope that the Pre will allow third party developers to develop something like Missing Sync. If I can't sync with my Mac, or at least the data that originates on my Mac, I may have to wait on the Pre.

I don't think there's anything out mentioning that yet. To me, it looks like it's just going to sync with Gmail, Facebook, Outlook, and Exchange accounts, which are not Mac dependent.
I emailed MarkSpace and asked if there were any plans to create a program that synced the data in my Address Book and iCal with Gmail. There's one out there, and when I last checked, it was kind of expensive for what it did. ...

So, let's say I just upgraded 2 lines on my family plan a couple of weeks ago. Can I just renew my contract on November 2nd so I can take advantage of this? Would Sprint actually not let me renew a 2 year contract?

Are there any special limitations or anything for the video? My mom has an Instinct and I was trying to load some videos on to it. The only one I had was a South Park clip on my BB Curve. I transferred it to her computer, then to her memory card (the software wouldn't let me add music or video) and the Instinct couldn't even see it.

I'm a current Sprint user, and I get 25% off my monthly bill because of some corporate agreement with the company I work for.
Will AT&T be able to match this? I'm paying nearly $200/month, and if I go with AT&T, the plans are going to be about $200/month also, but with this discount, I'm saving close to $50/month, which is enough to make me stay with Sprint (and not have an iPhone).

I'm sorry, but I don't buy that answer. I have a Treo 700p and have never had a problem with it deleting messages or call logs, and they both have the same amount of free memory. I also have a bunch of apps on mine and am no where near running out of room.
